Today we are looking at the Wismec Reuleaux RX GEN3 Dual Kit… A mouthful I know! It consists of the Gen3 Dual Mod and the Gnome King Tank. The Wismec GEN3 Dual Mod is a dual 18650 vape mod that has a maximum output of 230w and has 2A quick charge capabilities if you need to charge on the go. It also supports multiple temperature control modes as well as TCR.The Gnome King Tank comes in 2ml and 5.8ml capacities as well as 22 and 26mm diameters depending on whether you get the TPD version or not. It comes with two WM01 0.4ohm coil, but is also compatible with the optional WM02, WM03 coils as well as the WM RBA deck, all available separately.
The Wismec Reuleaux RX GEN3 Dual Kit is currently available in six different finishes ranging from gloss black, to gold, to gunmetal to white, so there are a fair few options out there for everyone!
In this review we will be looking at the gloss black version of the kit!
Wismec are famous for their Reuleaux/RX series of devices, and recently they have come out with kits such as the RX2 21700 Kit and the RX GEN3 Kit.
As always, my opinions are honest and my own.

Wismec RX GEN3 Dual Kit Build Quality & Design
Gnome King Tank
The Drip Tip:
The drip tip is made from a resin/honeycomb mesh material. It is 810 sized and held into the top fill port with two o-rings located on the drip tip itself.
Top Fill Port:
This is accessed by pushing a very discreet arrow located on the crown-styled top-cap. I must admit that it took me a while to find out how to undo the filler cap of this tank!
Once you’ve opened the top fill by pushing the top cap from that little arrow towards the other side of the tank, it reveals the top fill port which is surrounded by a white silicone gasket to prevent any leakage.
The Tank Glass:
A 26mm diameter of smoked glass tube. The tint makes it a little difficult to see the e-liquid level in low light conditions, but nothing too bad.
The Airflow Base:
Your usual airflow base that you see on most tanks. Dual cyclops airflow slots controlled by an outer ring. The AFC ring moves very smoothly around the base straight out of the box.At the base, we have the Wismec Gnome King branding as well as the CE and bin logos. The threading is pretty smooth and it has a slightly protruding 510 positive pin.
Wismec Gnome King Tank – Overall:
Overall, the construction and look of this tank is pretty good. My main gripe would be the discreetness of the arrow to show where to open it. Other than that it is spot on! It’s extremely easy to fill as well!
The Wismec Reuleaux RX GEN3 Dual Mod:
At the top of the device we have the 510 connector that is located more to the front of the mod. It has a slightly recessed surround with a 510 thread in the centre as well as a springy 510 centre pin with a surprising amount of throw to it!
Working our way to the front of the RX GEN3 Dual mod, we are met with the fire button that has JayBo etched into it. Wismec and JayBo have been co-designing products for a good amount of years now!Below the fire button we have the LED screen that is hidden behind smoked glass. The screen is a little dim and slightly difficult to read in bright environments, plus I haven’t found a brightness control on this mod yet which is a bit disappointing.Underneath the screen we have the + and – buttons as well as the micro USB port which is there for the purpose of charging as well as firmware upgrades in the future. Both sides are exactly the same, a small bit of venting and some lines which are very reminiscent of previous RX models from Wismec and JayBo.At the base we have the Wismec, JayBo and Reuleaux logos as well as some venting holes on the battery door.
To open the battery door, just slide it towards the back of the device and it will come undone. The securing catch is pretty strong and I have had no issues with is coming undone. It is slightly wobbly side to side when it is open though. When it is open, you have the gold battery contacts as well as the correct battery polarity clearly labelled to avoid any confusion when inserting the batteries.
The Wismec Reuleaux RX GEN3 Dual Mod – Overall:
Overall, the GEN3 Dual is an absolutely TINY device! I would go as far to say that this might be the smallest dual 18650 regulated device that I have ever got my hand on!
It is very palm friendly as well, the rounded triangular shape of the GEN3 Dual fits extremely nicely in the hand, but the gloss black finish does make it rather slippery when holding it.
My main gripe for the mod would be the darkness of the screen and the inability to change the brightness of it. Oh, and the slippy slidy-ness of it. I think it needs a matte finish or some grippy bits to stop it from sliding out of your hand.
How Does the Wismec RX Gen3 Dual Kit Perform?
Gnome Tank
WMO1 Coil – Rated at 0.4Ohm – 40-70W Range
The Wismec WM01 Coil has a single coil and is rated at 0.4 ohms. It has a usage range of 40-70w and is recommend to be best between 50 and 60w. So let’s see how it performs throughout the wattage range and see if we can find a sweet spot. All tests will be conducted with the airflow fully open unless stated otherwise.
40w:
A tepid vape. Flavour is ok. Acceptable for environments where clouds would be inappropriate.
50w:
Now it’s starting to warm up nicely. The cloud production is coming along well and the flavour has picked up nicely as well. I would say this is acceptable for people who enjoy a cooler vape.
60w:
The flavour is getting better! A lot more vapour production too. I think this is going to be the rough sweet spot for me!
70w:
At 70w, the flavour is definitely starting to reduce, I’m getting a dryer flavour and a slight burnt taste. I personally wouldn’t recommend going higher than 70w.
The Sweet Spot:
For me, I find that the sweet spot is around 58-60w depending on what e-liquid I’m using. You get no degradation of the flavour, the vapour production is good and hopefully it will make the coil last a bit longer than ripping it at 60-70w all day long.
One thing I would like to add to the performance of the Gnome King Tank is the noise of the airflow. When I first set up the tank, I was met with the most annoying whistle I have experienced from a tank which made it virtually unusable.
After closer inspection, I had a look at the gold contact through the airflow and positioned it so that the side of the contact was at the airflow slot rather than the open side of the contact. This sorted out the noisy airflow straight away!
Coil Life:
So, after using this at the sweet spot, with 70/30 e-liquid. I have gotten roughly 5 days out of this coil before the flavour started to diminish. I’m not the heaviest of vapers, so it may last people more or less time than this. But I personally think that the coils could have lasted a lot longer.
Wismec RX GEN3 Dual Mod
I have been using the Wismec RX GEN3 Dual at wattages between 48 and 120 and it has hit them pretty well. Obviously I don’t have the equipment to test whether it has truly hit those figures, but I can sense that it’s hitting the correct wattage compared to other devices.
The buttons are nice and clicky and don’t have a spongy feel to them. They’re all located in the right place and are easy to reach with your thumb whether you’re a right or left hand firer.
The menu system is easily navigable; a simple 3 clicks of the fire button brings allows you to scroll through the screen using the – button, and to adjust the relevant setting you press the + button.
To scroll through the wattage, simply click the + or – button which will take you up/down in .1 increments. By holding the button it will allow you to adjust up or down a lot faster.
Overall, The GEN3 Dual mod by Wismec performs absolutely great! No problem with the wattage modes or the battery life whatsoever. As said previously, the only thing that lets it down for me is the darkness of the screen.
Pros
- Fits nicely in the hand
- Lightweight
- Compact & Discreet
- Looks great
- 2A Quick Charge Feature
- Tank easy to refill
Cons
- Dark screen
- Top fill could be better labelled
- Slippery finish
Final Review Verdict
To round things off, I would say that the Wismec RX GEN3 Dual Kit is a cracking little setup. The tank isn’t anything amazing. It doesn’t stand out compared to any other average tank on the market, and to me, that is all the tank is; average. Average flavour, average clouds, average coils.
The mod on the other hand is the jewel in the kings crown. It performs greatly, it feels nice in the hand and there’s not many negatives to it apart from the dark screen which HOPEFULLY can be made a bit brighter in a firmware update.
Hi guys , i have a problem , i’m vaping rx gen 3 dual mod, with pharaoh mini rta, my mod writing Atomizer not found but atomizer is on the mod , how i can repair it? i clean my mod contacts and my rta contacts and still not working.. i dont know what i need to do.
Recently( in November )bought this wismec mod only. The display on mine is not dim as described in this and other reviews. Did they recently change it?
I’ve recently bought the full kit and the gnome king tank that came with it I realized that there wasn’t a silicone gasket around the fill port anyone else have this or just me ???
When are they bringing out silicone covers for this please
Not sure Grant, maybe we worth keeping an eye on things over at Fasttech as they tend to release a lot of mod covers. Be worth asking them if they have any due in.
Very informative! I’m fairly new to vape mods. Had a smok alien for half a year and just switched to this one, but can’t seem to get the settings right! Def think part of my issue was wattage was set too high. getting dry hits, terrible airflow, and tank get really hot.was told to set it to 80w 😬 will try putting it lower and hope for the best! Haha
