The Voopoo VMate pod kit carries the same name as the larger 200w mod and is another sealed coil system that can be refilled.
Operating this one is, as you’ll see, as easy as vaping gets, and should appeal to the brand new vaper and smoker looking to quit.
As a vape company Voopoo has one of the better reputations with a vast stable of vaping products.
Kevin aka the Worthing Vaper recently reviewed this pod kit’s namesake the VMate 200, the Voopoo Drag range of pod kits and mods seems never ending, whilst the Voopoo Vinci series were generally very well received.
What Can We Expect From the Voopoo VMate Pod Kit?
In this review the first thing you can expect is no ‘real world‘ photos!
I’m afraid I seem to have lost this on a recent hike.
I keep my vape gear in a small stuff sack in the outer pocket of my rucksack.
I managed to lose a few spare coils – pods – 3 vape devices and about 50mls of juice too!
Blame old age – and once again, my sincere apologies for the lack of photos.
OK, this is a tiny little pod kit that is draw activated – easy fill and has a whopping 900mAH battery inside.
The pods are refillable, however the coils are NOT replaceable – so once done they need to be recycled.
The kit comes with only one coil/pod and that is the 0.7ohm mesh.
Other pod/coils are available – the 0.8 and 1.2ohm.
The Voopoo VMate pod kit is designed as an MTL device and of course we’ll take a look at that in this review.
I was able to use it for a few days and as always had kept a few notes.
The kit was sent to me by Vape Club – thank you – and again my apologies for losing it!
OK, on with the vape review and let’s see if the Voopoo VMate is indeed a friendly vape kit to vape on.

Voopoo VMate Pod Kit – Key Features
As you can see from the specs this is a dead simple to use refillable pod kit.
There’s only one pod in the box – with the 0.7ohm mesh coil – and you can choose to buy the 0.08 ohm and 1.2ohm pods separately.
I’ll touch on how tight the Voopoo VMate is to vape on shortly.
Simply put, you cannot change the coil, instead you recycle the whole pod and pop in another.
Depending on the pod/coil combo you’re using, the Voopoo VMate fires at either 12W or 17W.
There’s no buttons or menu to worry about simply fill and vape – about as easy as vaping gets.
It’s a very pocket friendly device and comes in a choice of colours: Green – Red – Silver and Space Grey.
Design and Build Quality
As I’ve just hinted at, the Voopoo VMate is a tiny little device and weighs very little, but still feels solid in the hand.
The pods snap in and out nicely and there’s zero rattle.
Filling the Voopoo VMate is a doddle and you’ll find the fill port on the side of the pod and I had no issues whatsoever.
It might be a mesh coil and only have a 2ml capacity, but I found a juice drinker this one isn’t with a fill lasting for an age.
I really do like the design of this one, it feels great in the hand and the translucent pod means you can easily see your juice levels.
Logos are kept to a minimum too making this a very attractive pod kit indeed.
How Does the Voopoo VMate Pod Kit Perform?
As I’ve already explained, I’ve managed to lose mine!
However I had been able to use it for a few days and have to say I was extremely impressed, and more than a little annoyed as I was really enjoying using it.
It’s been a while since I’ve used a Voopoo product and straight off the bat, the flavour was extremely good from the included 0.7ohm coil.
If vapour’s your thing this one really does throw out the clouds – even using the nic salts.
As to this being an MTL pod kit, I would say this was a loose MTL vape more akin to a RDL with the included coil.
On a scale of 1:10 with 10 being extremely airy – this one’s an easy 8.
There are a couple of airflow holes on either side and closing one of with a finger or tape will of course restrict the vape a little.
I didn’t receive the 0.8 or 1.2 ohm pods/coils so have nothing to compare – so out of the box don’t expect a tight vape.
Charging was pretty fast thanks to the USB-C cable and vaping at such low wattage with a 900mAH battery meant I got at least 6 hours using this as my only device.
Voopoo says the pods have a ‘independent one way condensation space‘ which means no leaking.
Having used this one out and about on my hikes I can definitely say this one has had no leaks – even chucked in my rucksack.
Pros
- Great flavour
- Amazing clouds
- Incredible battery life
- Fast charging
- Dead simple to use
- Pocket friendly
- Great price
- Ergonomic
Cons
- Only one pod/coil in the box
Final Review Verdict
It’s the first time I’ve managed to lose a device mid-review and trust me I have searched everywhere!
I have a feeling I left it – and my vape bag – on a log whilst having a drink out on a hike…old and forgetful me lol.
Anyway, what I can say I was pretty annoyed as the flavour from the Voopoo VMate is very very good indeed.
I’d go as far to say it was almost as tasty as my day to day go to the Uwell Caliburn G – which I also managed to lose at the same time!
I’ve since bought another one of those, and was sorely tempted at buying a new Voopoo VMate, the only thing putting me off was the single pod/coil in the box.
Saying that, at the price I may buy another one if only to keep in my rucksack as a back-up because I think it’s that good – cheap as chips too.
I’d like to have tried the 1.2om coil as I reckon that will give a truer MTL vape – but I still think this is great for beginners to vaping and for the rest of us as a back-up.
So…have you ever lost a vape kit? If so what where and how!
Are you thinking of buying or already using the Voopoo VMate?
