The Voopoo Argus GT is a 160w dual battery mod kit and comes paired with the rather nifty PnP Pod tank.
Originally setup 2010 as a medical electronic research company and based in China, and in 2016 they acquired Woody Vapes and a leapt into the world of e-cigarettes!
VooPoo has many kits under its belt from regular mods to pod systems some of which include – the Drag series, the Vinci series and of course the Argus line.
What Can We Expect From the Argus GT Kit?
VooPoo has taken inspiration for this kit from light weight racing bikes, using a light zinc alloy with leather or material and plastic highlights!
They say that the device is 30% lighter than others of the same category.
The device can be fired up to max of 160W with dual batteries, the chipset that gives this new device life is the new Gene.TT, which makes the mod fast to fire and provides intelligent functions.
VooPoo has supplied the PnP Pod tank as a topper, an interesting tank with an intriguing airflow.
With 5 different colour schemes available it’s an overall good looking kit.
The Argus GT Kit was sent directly to me from VooPoo for the purpose of review.
As always my thoughts and views are my own after considerable testing.

Design and Build Quality
Presented in a military style plastic display box which is different, to say the least – I like it.
I was sent the Argus GT kit in dark blue for this review; I would say the material has an almost denim like feel to it.
VooPoo Argus GT – VooPoo PnP Pod Tank
The tank dismantles into 3 parts counting the coil, its diameter is 26mm with an overall height of 45mm, this tank is a bottom filler, and the port is covered by a silicone bung.
The main part of the tank is made of gray PCTG, plastic with an in built mouthpiece, the coil pushes into the bottom of the tank, and the tank then connects with strong magnets into the 510 base.
VooPoo Argus GT 510 Connection Base
Made of stainless steel the base has all the normal info printed on its bottom, the standard 510 connection thread has been turned well and the connection pin is gold plated.
The base airflow has 2 adjustable slots, that VooPoo call an Infinite airflow system, and the adjustment ring spins quite freely with no stop point.
Inside of the base the airflow passage is a gap around where the coil connects to the base.
You will also see inside the base, 3 spring loaded connection points rather like those in pod systems, seating the tank into the base the coil will push these contacts down to complete the circuit.
VooPoo PNP Coils
The kit comes with 2 coils
- PnP VM5 – 0.2Ω 40-60W
- PnP VM6 – 0.15Ω 60-80W
The tank is compatible with the complete range of VooPoo PnP coils including the PnP RBA, making this tank versatile and cost effective.
The quality and design of the PnP pod tank is excellent.
VooPoo Argus GT Mod
When I first opened the packaging, my first thought was that the device chassis was covered with liquid droplets, on closer examination VooPoo has added a splashed look to the final design, I’m sure this will grow on me in time.
The mod measures in at approx 85mm high, 51mm width and will hold 26mm diameter tanks.
Rather like the Geekvape Aegis Legend, the body has a cradle around the comfortable leather/material, the cradle is made of plastic and sprayed to look like aluminium.
Sadly unlike the Legend this mod is not IP67 rated.
The leather or material covering is padded making the mod comfortable to hold in either hand, the padding has advertising printed and embossed on/into it.
Charging and updates can be done with the included USB-C cable you will find the port on the side of the device near to the bottom it is covered with a silicone bung.
The port is rated at 2amps – I recommend the use of an external charger to charge your batteries.
The control panel has a square plastic fire button and rectangular + and – buttons with “Gene” printed under them.
The colour display is bright clear and easy to read, and it includes all relevant information you’d expect to see.
The buttons, if I’m to be honest, don’t have the nicest feel to them being made of hard plastic, also the adjustment buttons in my mind are a little too close together, however there’s no rattle and feel sturdy.
Top and Bottom of the Voopoo Argus GT
The bottom of the mod, the battery door has printed info on it (design and CE marks), the door itself is a push out and pull back hinged door, which has a bit of movement once opened.
The door contact points are stamped with battery orientation marks.
On the top of the Argus GT you will see the standard 510 connection with a gold plated spring loaded pin for your atomizer, of course you can use any tank you wish, but I would recommend that you stay with 26mm diameter tanks or under putting a larger diameter tank due to the overhang looks a little silly.
Overall the design and quality of the Argus GT Mod is good it’s a very light device even with the batteries in place.
How Does the VooPoo Argus GT Kit Perform?
Today I will use the included PnP 0.15Ω coil in the PnP tank, and the liquid I will be using is Double Drip “Caramel Apple Cake”.
VooPoo Argus GT – Quick Start Guide
PnP Tank
- Prep your coil with a few drops of liquid to dampen the cotton
- Push the coil into the base of the tank.
- With the tank upside down, open the fill port and fill with your e-liquid
- Close the bung firmly and place the tank into the 510 connection base, leave the tank to the side for a few minutes so the coil can soak up more liquid.
Voopoo Argus GT Mod

VooPoo Argus GT Kit 40 to 80w
Starting at 40w with the airflow set to about a 1/4 open, the flavour was excellent with a good amount of medium warmth vapour production.
Knocking the wattage up to 60w with the airflow set to half open the vapour production was nice and warm with the flavour between fair and very good.
At 80w the flavour quality diminished quite a lot with the produced vapour being very hot for me, with a little liquid escaping into my mouth!
VooPoo Argus GT Temperature Control
Using the Kizoku Unlimt DL RTA on the mod, with a couple of DIY flat SS 0.1Ω coils placed in at 420f 80w, I enjoyed a warm vape with great flavour and vapour production.
My Notes on the Voopoo Argus GT
In the couple of weeks I’ve been testing the Voopoo Argus GT, I did a side by side with Drag 2 and the Alpha Zip this kit hold up well to those devices by comparison!
I’ve been using Golisi S30 18650’s in the mod, and I’ve been getting approximately 5 hours at 45w with moderate chain vaping.
The PnP Pod tank – I’m not going to lie here and say I was excited to use it!
To be frank the word pod these days leaves me cold, however I believe in giving everything a fair shake, and was really surprised at the simplicity and quality of the tank.
Pros
PnP Tank
- Good flavour and vapour production
- Very beginner friendly
- Airflow is swishy
- Good design and quality
Argus GT Device
- Design and Quality are good
- Colour screen
- Comfortable to hold
Cons
- Screen time out
Final Review Verdict
The Argus GT Mod is a great vape, no matter what tank you use as a topper!
Only one little niggle with the mod, when the screen times out you have to press the fire button twice to reactive it!
The PnP pod tank is simple and easy to use with good results.
Have VooPoo started a new trend with this mix of traditional mod and pod tank? I do hope so!
Would I recommend the VooPoo Argus GT Kit?
“Yes” is easy to use and maintain for newbie’s as well as seasoned vapers.
Would I buy this kit again due loss or damage?
No budget hands needed here “Yes” I’d replace the kit in an instant.
Hi Kevin,
Bought this last week and both the mod and tank are working very well. I also bought an extra non TPD pod as as filling it every 30mins! Not a hint of leakage so far – just reassures me both will stand the test of time (& vaping like a madman of course)
Thanks for the review – Ecigclick continue to be my go to bible for all things vape – very much appreciated!
Cheers,
Michael
