UK based Vampire Vape has been around for a long time now and are the creators of the famous and it has to be said extremely popular Pinkman and Heisenberg range of e-liquids.
Most of us have probably tried one of the company’s e-liquids on our vaping journey as it’s a little known fact they actually have 20 brands under the Vampire Vape umbrella.
One of those is the Vlads VG range which has 10 flavours and come in a 70VG 30PG mix and nicotine strengths of 1.5 – 3 and 6mg in 10ml TPD compliant bottles.
So a well known UK e-liquid manufacturer with a good pedigree – how does the Vlad VG range taste?
I’ve had the full line-up for a little over 3 weeks and for the tastings I used my Doge III RDA and the Druga RDA with the same basic clapton coils coming out at 0.15ohms and vaping between 65 and 85 watts.
The e-liquids were sent to me for the purpose of the review, as always my thoughts and opinions are my own.
Attraction Fatal
Vampire Vape say:
Attraction Fatal is all the juiciest red fruits and berries with a sub zero kick.
I say:
The smell belies the really hard menthol hit you get from this – it smells just like those Cherry Tunes cough sweets.
Sadly the taste didn’t quite live up to the lovely smell – not much fruit going on and no berries I could taste but definitely one for the menthol vape juice lovers – which I’m not.
Black Ice Breaking Point
Vampire Vape say:
Black Ice Breaking Point is an Aniseed with an Ice Menthol Exhale.
I say:
Think of those old fashioned aniseed hard candy balls and you’ll have a rough idea what this tastes like.
Plenty of aniseed though it is little bit too sweet and again that menthol exhale is not the nicest I’ve tried.
An extremely heavy vape that quite honestly dare I say can get a little sickly?
Blue Gun
Vampire Vape say:
Blueberry bubblegum with one hell of a bang!
I say:
Another vape that smells gorgeous but with a taste that can become a little cloying if I’m honest. Not sure what the big bang is – all I got was not a very nice aftertaste – not for me.
Heisenberg No Ice
Vampire Vape say:
The same Heisenberg taste with less of the cool hit.
I say:
I guess this is an icy menthol e-liquid without the errr… ice or menthol. It smells very much like cheap mouthwash if I’m honest and the taste is well ‘weird’ – not good at all.
Heisenberg White
Vampire Vape say:
The original Heisenberg without the blue.
I’ve never been a fan of the Heisenberg range and like the ‘No Ice’ this too smells of cheap mouthwash – tastes like it too. Sorry but no.
Loser
Vampire Vape say:
Tropical Pineapple with a sweet Mango surprise.
After testing the first few I was losing the will to live and had to scrub my tongue – so I had high hopes for this one. There’s barely any smell from the bottle and you can say the same about the taste too – barely any.
I’ll hold my hands up and say this is a ‘delicate’ flavor – as in you could vape on this all day without actually knowing what it is your vaping on…
Pinkman on Ice
Vampire Vape say:
The fruity Pinkman with a Heisenberg style menthol twist.
I say:
I actually quite like some of the Pinkman e-liquid out there – however adding menthol to it has, I guess, given it another dimension that is not for me at all. Not sure if it’s the kind of menthol these guys are using but I’m not liking it at all…
Raspberry Blast
Vampire Vape say:
Fresh Raspberries and a Peppermint ice blast
I say:
I bloody love raspberry e-liquids and this one almost does it for me. The smell is absolutely divine and to be fair the first few vapes the raspberry really cuts through.
However, half a dozen vapes in and the ice of the peppermint numbs the tongue losing that tart fruitiness.
Almost a great vape.
Pinkman Revamped
Vampire Vape say:
The famous Pinkman with crushed strawberries.
I say:
Finally an e-liquid from this collection I actually like – not a lot but it’s not a bad vape at all!
You get that familiar fruity Pinkman kick on the inhale before the candy sweet strawberries do indeed lift it a little.
The Ryder
Vampire Vape says:
Sweet Strawberry Donut just like mamma used to make.
I say:
I’m not getting much dough but I do get a biscuit almost crunchy sweet pastry taste followed by a good whack of candied strawberries rather than fresh jam.
I think dessert and donut lovers will enjoy this one and to be fair this was the best of the bunch for me – nice with my morning coffee.
Final Verdict
It’s a shame most of the Vlads VG range have a menthol or mint element to them as I really don’t do those flavours.
Before the menthol police start calling for my head – I have reviewed plenty of menthol based flavors and some I’ve actually enjoyed – so I can be swayed!
However, the menthol used in these just tastes a bit funny – that’s the only way I can describe it.
For 70-30 VG and PG e-liquids they do give off a decent amount of vapour but overall this range is not for me especially at £4.99 for 10mls.
