The Vaporesso Target Mini II kit is another new release from Vaporesso and an upgrade from the original that was a big hit at the time. Slight increase in battery capacity, a modification to the original design and there’s a new tank on top!
The brand has released some great devices as of late (Vaporesso GEN Mod, Vaporesso Aurora Play) so I’m looking forward to see if this kit hit’s the spot.
I received the Vaporesso Kit in Silver but the kit does come in various other colours.
What Can We Expect From the Target Mini II by Vaporesso?
The Vaporesso Target Mini II is an excellent size device, it’s super tiny, lightweight and very portable.
The VM Tank 22 offers a Mouth to Lung (MTL) and Direct to Lung (DTL) style vape so you have the best of both worlds whilst the Mod itself offers a battery capacity of 2000mAh and a maximum wattage of 50 Watts.
Let’s get straight to seeing how this little kit performs. Can it make the Best Small Vape Mod list?.
The Vaporesso Target Mini II was sent to me for the purposes of review. As always, I will give you my own, honest opinion of this product after a lengthy testing period.

Design and Build Quality
Target Mini II Mod
The Target Mini is well designed, though, just a little refresh of the original Target Mini.
It’s small, sleek, fits superbly in the hand with an all round good feel. There isn’t and protruding parts or sharp edges spoiling the design.
The mod houses a 2000mAh battery, some 600mAh more than the original, but Vaporesso state the Target Mini II will last 50% longer than the original.
This kit has been very enjoyable to test. There are a lot of devices out there at the moment that tell you it can do MTL and DTL but the majority fail to do both or at least one well. I will let you know shortly if the Vaporesso Target Mini II managed to do it!
Menu System – Quick Start
The menu system on the Target Mini II is very easy to use.
- Press menu select 3 times or one long press of 3 seconds
- Scroll through the menu left and right with the + and – keys
- Press the function/menu select for corresponding setting
Fire Button
The fire button on this Mod is nicely placed and can be fired by either the thumb or just as easily with the finger. I must admit, I do find it easier to fire the device with my thumb.
The Omni Chip in Vaporesso devices has always been a great chip with very quick fire up from pressing the fire button.
OLED Screen
OLED screens on most vape products are adequate inside, or outside in dull conditions.
The screen on the Target Mini II is no different. When you take the device out of the box, the brightness setting is already on maximum so you will certainly have no joy at all viewing the screen in sunny conditions.
Unfortunately, that is all too common with the majority of products out there.
VM Tank 22
Vaporesso, on the whole, have made and designed very good quality vape tanks and the VM Tank 22 is certainly no exception. The build is top notch, certainly for the price you are paying.
The VM Tank 22 certainly doesn’t disappoint in the flavour department and is a bit of a looker to boot.
Tea Fiber Cotton Coils
Tea Fiber Cotton CoilsIt’s the latest trend in the vaping world that coils with Tea Fiber, yes tea, have a far superior flavour output from them and on this occasion, that rings true on this occasion also.
It’s said that this combination has been designed to provide a super smooth vape with, of course, top notch flavour.
The Freemax Twister kit also featured Tea Fiber mesh coils that were excellent.
How To Change The VM Tank 22 Coil
To change the coil on the VM Tank 22 you simply:
- Remove the Tank from the Mod
- Unscrew the bottom airflow section from the main Tank where you will see the coil sitting in the Tank.
- Give the Tank a little wiggle and the coil will fall out.
- To put in a new coil, there is no screwing in of the coil, you just simply place it in the main tank then screw on the bottom airflow section and you are good to go.
How To Fill The VM Tank 22 Tank
Filling the VM Tank 22 is a simple affair too.
- Unscrew and remove the top cap.
- You will be met by a sizeable slot to put your e-liquid in.
- Put in your e-liquid then screw back on the top cap.
How Does the Vaporesso Target Mini II Kit Perform?
The Target Mini II Kit performs well in some aspects and not so well in others.
Both the 1.0ohm and 0.6ohm coil have great longevity. Both coils tested lasted upwards of two weeks with a little more life left in them.
I have to say, I enjoyed the MTL vape on the 1.0ohm coil slightly better than vaping DTL on the 0.6ohm coil and there’s a couple of reasons for this that I will touch on below.
Flavour and Vapour Production
Don’t expect massive clouds from the VM Tank 22. Vaping MTL you get a small cloud which is good for stealth vaping or while you are out and about.
The cloud production from the 0.6ohm coil is average.
EUC Meshed – 0.6ohm Coil (Tea Fiber)
The flavour I got from this coil wasn’t anything I would write home about, I used a 70/30 e-liquid (Chubby Juice, Ripple) that I use regularly in another RTA and RDA but the flavour was way off, very muted in fact, certainly not something I would expect from a meshed, tea fiber coil.
However, I don’t think that was from the coil itself, rather than the way the tank is designed.
It is, in my eyes set up more as a MTL Tank rather than a DTL Tank with the airflow and size.
EUC CCELL – 1.0ohm Coil
The EUC CCELL is your standard Vaporesso ceramic with your coil embedded into it.
The flavour you get vaping MTL from the VM Tank 22 is very good for a stock coil tank.
The first time I used the MTL coil, I used a 50/50 Nic Salt, (Strapped – Tangy Tutti Frutti) the same as I have been using in my Aspire Nautilus AIO and the flavour in the VM Tank 22 was very good indeed, I would certainly have a hard time differentiating between the two.
I also tested the coil with a 60VG/40PG e-liquid which was also very good. The only time the coil struggled a little was vaping an 80VG/20PG DIY e-liquid I made myself.
Off course, there isn’t many MTL Tanks that cope well with an 80VG e-liquid.
As per the many Vaporesso coils I have tried, I never once had a dry hit from either of the coils tested and that was chain vaping on both several times.
The Target Mini II also had no problems at all using other RTA’s I have as long as you will vape it at no more than 50W.

Battery Life
When using the device as a DTL vape is that the battery life is, quite simply, pants.
When vaping MTL with the Target Mini II kit, you will get the battery to last all day, that’s from when I leave my house to when I return in the evening.
Using the mod for DTL vaping at 40W or more, you will quite literally, get two hours of battery life then it’s dead.

Final Review Verdict
I really enjoyed reviewing the Vaporesso Target Mini II. As always, when I get to review a product that says it can MTL and DTL, one side tends to let it down.
On this occasion, using the Target Mini II in MTL mode, it was very good. Great flavour and good battery life.
DTL vaping was almost the opposite. Very average flavour and the battery life from vaping with the higher wattage required was very poor.
The Target Mini II solely as an MTL kit would be very good but it is let down by the DTL side of it. That isn’t me saying the kit is bad, because it certainly isn’t but only as a MTL device.

It took me ages to get the base of tank off to put new coil in now get check atomiser error! Can’t get base off at all now!no way finger tight should be that difficult!

Hi. The coils that cam with this unit have a limit wattage of 13 and 22. The Target Mini can go up to 50W. Can the coils work with higher voltages (like 35 or 40)? If not, what is the alternative? As far as I searched, there are no other coils fit the VM tank with higher voltages.
The VM tank is compatible with all EUC coils (Except for EUC Drizzle). The other higher wattage EUC coils are not included in this kit but can be bought seperately. There are quite a few to choose from!

first of all, I’m a Vape Noobie.
The coil inside when I bought the Vaporesso Target Mini II was 1,0ohm but the alternate which is was in the box is 0,6ohm – now the taste is completely different, can that be possible? What’s the main difference between them?
