I’d like to introduce you to a new vape starter kit, the Vaporesso GTX One, a very smart looking set-up designed for both beginners and regular MTL vapers.
Vaporesso has paired the device with the GTX 18 MTL tank, and given my new fascination for low wattage vaping, this one sounds ideal.
Vaporesso was created in 2015 by parent company SMOORE, which in turn, was founded in 2006 and is based in Shenzhen China.
It’s nice to see Vaporesso has released a more traditional style kit rather than a pod kit!
Some of their back products include Target PM30, Target PM80, Revenger, Revenger Mini, and the Polar 220w to name just a few.
What Can We Expect From The Vaporesso GTX One Kit?
With the Axon chipset providing up to 40w of variable power and supporting variable watts/volts, this is a smart little starter kit!
It has a 2000mAh built-in battery and the new type-C USB charge port.
The GTX One mod covering is an anti scratch and skid which is great to hold, almost with a cushion type feel to it, very similar to their Gen and Swag2 mod coverings.
As a tank, the GTX 18 is a fairly standard MTL tank that is compatible with the Vaporesso GTX coils series, and the adjustable bottom airflow features 5 small holes.
It’s not often I can say that a starter kit is pleasing to look at and that the functionality has been nailed – but this one has!
As you can see, it’s available in 6 colours – so I’m sure you’ll find one to suit your style.
The Vaporesso GTX One Kit was sent to me directly from Vaporesso for the purpose of review – thank you.
As always, I will give you my, honest opinion of this product after a lengthy testing period.

Design and Build Quality
The kit comes in a cardboard box, and I was sent two devices – the black and red versions to test!
Vaporesso GTX One Kit – the Mod
Vaporesso has given the device an interesting looks design wise, the mod measures approximately 80mm high with the face being 22mm, the side’s measure 29mm across.
It’s made from zinc alloy, stainless steel and plastic, with a comfortable 3/4s anti scratch and skid covering, and the battery size is a whopping 2000mAh.
Vaporesso GTX One Kit – Top To Bottom
The connection point will take atomizers up to 22mm in diameter and is made of stainless steel. The 510 threading is well turned, and has a spring loaded and gold plated connection pin.
Vaporesso GTX One Kit – the Face
The metal parts of the body has a mirror shine which attracts finger prints, whilst the clear and bright OLED screen is 0.69” and displays everything you need to know.
The fire button is plastic that has a very clicky response.
Under the metal adjustment buttons you will find the USB-C quick charge port.
Vaporesso GTX One Kit – Sides and Back
One side of the device has the logo “Vaporesso GTX One” and Vaporesso has printed its logo on the bottom of the device.
Vaporesso GTX One Kit – the Mod Base
You will see 3 vent holes as well as the usual safety marks, and there’s also the battery size and a unique serial number.
On the top and the bottom of the device are 2 hatch screws these hold the whole thing together!
The mod is great quality with a very good design – I’m impressed!
Vaporesso GTX One Kit – the GTX 18 Tank
Made throughout with stainless steel and Pyrex the tank comes with one 510 delrin drip tip, the tank has a diameter of approximately 22mm and without the mouth piece and connection thread it is 30mm tall.
This tank is a top filler, and really the only picky fault I have with it you have to unscrew the cap to fill!
Airflow for this tank is a simple bottom airflow with 5 tiny holes and adjustable airflow ring.
The GTX 18 tank comes pre installed with a 3ml pyrex glass tank, the 2ml spare is in the box!
Note: The TPD version has two 2ml Pyrex tanks supplied.
Vaporesso GTX One Kit – the Coils
Two plug n play stock coils come with the kit.
- GTX 0.8Ω MESH coil (12–20W) (Pre-installed)
- GTX 1.2Ω MESH coil (7-11W)
An RBA for this tank can be bought separately for about £6.
Overall a simple MTL tank, I think both the quality and design is fair.
BTW – When the kit is fully assembled the whole thing measures 127.5mm tall.
How Does the Vaporesso GTX One Kit Perform?
I will be using the pre installed 0.8Ω coil and my go to liquid by Ohm Baked – Apple and Rhubarb Crumble first in the black version of the kit!
I will then use the Red kit with the 1.2Ω coil and my DIY Cranberry liquid.

Vaporesso GTX One Kit – 0.8Ω coil at 12 to 20w
Starting with 12w and adjusting the airflow to suit me (wide open lol) I got a very flavoursome mouth to lung draw, while the vapour production wasn’t anything to write home about it was fairly good for MTL.
Upping the wattage to first 15 then to 20w with the airflow still wide open I was able to get a respectable but very restricted direct to lung vape, the vapour production was fairly good and the flavour was decent.
While I don’t like pushing stock coils over their stated max, you know I had to!
I got to 24w with this coil before I detected any type of bad taste.
Vaporesso GTX One Kit – 1.2Ω coil at 7 to 11w
Oh boy, was this a tight one!
Many of you out there will know I don’t like a tight draw!
I did try to vape this coil with the airflow cut right down, but I still ended up with the airflow open fully again, even so it was still too tight for my liking.
I’ve got to say at between 9 and 11w, the flavour for me was great and the cranberry really popped, the vapour production was a little disappointing but that was expected!
As I did for the 0.8Ω coil I pushed the wattage up past its recommended power, I got to 14.5w before I detected the liquid cooking!
For the 0.8Ω coil I now vape it at 15w, while the 1.2Ω coil I have settled on 10w.
Vaporesso GTX One Kit – Battery life etc
I was able to vape the 1.2Ω coil for most of a complete day at 10 watts before the battery needed charging, with the 0.8Ω coil doing very well in allowing a good 5 hours vape time at 15w.
I tested both coils with 50/50 and 70/30 VG/PG e-liquid without any problems.
In fact I have been testing them for over a week, and after nearly 100ml of liquid between both coils they are still going great with no drop in flavour!
Charging the unit takes approx 1 hour from flat.
Pros
Mod
- Good Quality
- Good Design
- Great Battery Life
- Fast Charge
Tank
- Fair Quality
- Fair Design
- Good Flavour
- Acceptable vapour quality
- Great coil life
Cons

Final Review Verdict
This is an ideal kit for new and established users looking for the MTL experience!
The only thing that really lets this kit down for me is the fill port cap.
I‘m so used to pushing the cap to one side!
Other than that the mod is simple to use, aesthetically pleasing and comfortable to hold.
The tank with the stock coils gives good flavour and the vapour production is fair, the coils supplied are long lasting, trust me, I’ve really hammered them over the time I’ve been testing, with no degradation in flavour!
Would I recommend the Vaporesso GTX One kit?
“Yes” there is no big learning curve, the kit is geared towards new vapers as a MTL pairing, though I reckon that established MTL vapers will love the tight draw the GTX 18 can produce.
Would I buy this kit again due loss or damage?
“Yes” with the airflow wide open I get a nice low powered vape!
When I finished this review Mrs J confiscated the red version for herself lol – so I will definitely be on the lookout for another Vaporesso GTX One asap.
Have you used the Vaporesso GTX One vape kit or planning to buy one?
Do let me know in the comments below and I’m available to answer any questions you might have too 🙂
Hi I’m not 100% sure but the tank gtx 18 on this gtx one mod is only 19mm not 22mm as you put in you review i was gonnaa buy the 22mm gtx 22 tank to put on this mod but dint think it will fit. I’ve measured the mod and its only 21mm across and as i said the original tank with the kit the gtx 18 is 19mm diameter. Could you recommend a good 20mm or 19mm diameter tank. Ive only spotted the smok nord 19. the innokin slipsteam. both the aspire nautilus tm and also the onixx tank. the joyetech exceed d19. the eleaf gtio. Any you think are any googld to replace the gtx 18 tank.
Great review as always mate well done. Because i love a tight mtl draw and i currently use the zlide tank which is ok but always welcome a new good one would u suggest this tank( 1,2 coil ) for a tight mtl draw and good taste? If u ve ever used the Zlide it would b great some comparison-notes between those 2. Thanx in advance, stay safe.
