The Vapengin Venus Pod Kit is keeping me company right now! Let’s see what it has to offer!
Disposable vapes are becoming very divisive. A lot of people are concerned about the waste and the fact that only a small percentage of disposables are actually being recycled.
So is there another way?
How about a device which is a similar size to a disposable vape, but with replaceable pre-filled pods?
Could this be the answer?
As a brand I know very little about Vapengin – unfortunately a visit to their website does not provide me with any more information either. Here is what they say about themselves…

Not only that, but the Venus pod kit is not even showing on their website, despite being for sale? So I can only tell you what I know from the packaging and the Vape Club website.
Talking of Vape Club I would like to thank them for sending the kit and 8 packs of pods over for review.
I will report back honestly on my experience with the device provided.
Plus of course flavours will always be a personal thing. So my aim is to concentrate on whether the flavours are a true representation and match the description.

What Can We Expect From The Vapengin Venus Pod Kit…
This is targeted to those who like a disposable vape – for the simplicity and flavour.
The main device contains a 500mAh battery and features a USB Type C port for charging.
You will be using disposable pre-filled pods for this, simply remove and replace the pod when it is empty. Although the pods are a bit wasteful – this is still way more sustainable than disposing of an entire device with the battery and plastic body.
The pods come in twin packs of 2ml capacity pods in 9 flavours, I have all of these here to review…

It is super easy to operate, with an auto draw system that activates when you inhale on the mouthpiece.
The device is made from clear plastic, the different pods are colour coded.

Design and Build Quality
This comes in a box with one pod of your choice included.
There are no instructions in with the device or replaceable pods?? This is not a great start.
I think of this kit as for complete newbies who are transitioning over from disposable vapes. They will need to know about charging, what the LED light represents etc.
The pod and device are both sealed in plastic packages, which is good to show the contents have not been tampered with and it will prevent any leaks escaping the box. But it does add to waste concerns. However considering how much less waste this kit will create compared to the equal number of disposable vapes – I can let Vapengin off for this!
On the front of the box you will see the flavour of the pod included in the kit and the applicable warnings.
On the rear of the box you will find the full ingredients listed, specifications, company contact details, verification (authenticity sticker) and further warnings.
Scratch off the verification panel and type the number into this page https://www.vapengin.com/verifysn to verify if the product is authentic. Or if using a mobile you can scan the QR code which will take you to the page and automatically input the code number.
I am pleased to see the addition of batch number and expiry date, which always proves that a company has serious quality control and traceability systems in place.
Vapengin Venus Mod
This is mainly a transparent plastic shell!
On top of the shell are the Vapengin and some other logos printed in a holographic mirror finish print. This changes colour according to the angle of the light and I think it looks futuristic and adds some character. You can also see the battery which has the “Venus” text written on.
At the base of the device is a Chrome mirror finished cap which is super shiny and really adds to the look of the mod.
On the base you will find the USB Type C port and the LED indicator.
This indicator also shines through into the pod compartment so basically it looks like the whole device lights up – which I think looks amazing.
The pod compartment has an asymmetric shape so the pod can only be installed one way around which makes life a lot easier.
The pod is held into the mod securely with magnets, you can install the pod almost 3/4 in and the magnet will pull it fully inside.
You will see 2 spring loaded contacts and the airflow inlets inside the pod compartment. This is quite a deep compartment so it would need Cotton Buds or similar if you wanted to clean the contacts.
It is a super clean and sleek design – which I really do like!
Pods
The pods come in packs of two – which have the same plastic wrapper as the mod.
You will find the flavour name, number of puffs and applicable warnings on the pod box.
On the rear of the box are the full ingredients, specifications, company contact details, verification sticker, batch number, expiry date and further warnings.
The pods have a clear plastic body with a coloured layer inside. This layer has the pod flavour and various graphics printed on. It is also colour coded to the flavour.
As the device is completely transparent, the colour of the pod is the main colour point you will see.
At the top of the pod is the slightly square “Duck Bill” mouthpiece which is super comfortable to use.
The base of the pod is like a Black plastic cap which is fitted to the clear outer shell.
Here you will find 2 electrical contacts / magnets and the airflow inlets.
Quick Start Guide
The device arrives with the pod and device wrapped separately.
Before use you will need to remove the isolator sticker from the pod base and the plug from the mouthpiece.
Then it is time to charge up and get stuck in!
Basic Operation
- Power On/Off: there is no on or off function.
- Vaping: inhale on the mouthpiece and the device will fire automatically.
- Battery indicator: It lights up Blue when vaping and will flash when the battery is empty. It will stop working until it has been recharged.
- Charging status: The LED will stay on when charging and turn off when fully charged.
Protections
I have no idea if there are any protections on here as there are no instructions at all!
How To Charge The Battery
- Insert the small end of a USB Type C cable into the charge port of the device.
- Insert the large end of the cable into a suitable USB outlet.
- Leave to charge. The LED indicator will light up when charging and turn off when fully charged.
I found it took 1.5 hours to charge – which is a bit excessive?
How To Replace the Pod
- Remove the pod if one is installed.
- Unpack and remove the isolator sticker and mouthpiece plug from the new pod.
- Insert the pod into the mod – it will only align one way around.
- Start vaping!

I was given 9 pod flavours for review.
Banana Ice
Vape Club Say:

I Say:
This is a very tasty generic candy style Banana flavour.
It is in the same vein as the yummy Foam Banana sweets!
You also get a hefty blast of ice here, which is to kind of be expected – hence the name! But it is a bit harsh on the old lungs as you inhale. After about 3 inhales I needed a warm drink!
So if you love the sweets pictured above and enjoy a super icy vape – this flavour will make you very happy.
For me – the flavour is 10/10 but the cooling is slightly too overpowering.
Tropical Rainbow Sky

I Say:
This one is a bit vague when it comes to the flavour description so I will just report back on what I can taste!
There is a light Melon which thankfully is not earthy, then I can taste a sweet Pineapple. I think there are some Red berries in here, possibly a Strawberry? Whatever it is it brings a happy zing of sweetness. There is a slight tang which may be a smidge of Lemon or Lime?
Basically as you can tell from my struggle to describe the flavours, this is quite a medley which is blended that well that there is no one flavour profile becoming dominant.
Also the cooling used here is much more in proportion, you are not aware of it straight away, it takes longer to kick in.
It is very yummy and I could vape this all day long!
Mr Bull
Vape Club Say:

I Say:
This very much reminds me of my favourite high VG e-liquid – the Ruthless Energy Drank – which is designed on the same flavour profile!
This is slightly tangier than the Ruthless version and doesn’t have the smooth syrupy quality, but this only has 50% VG compared to the 70% used in the Ruthless.
You do get a blast of cooling on the inhale, it is slightly too strong but not as bad as some of the flavours in the Venus range.
After exhaling a slight tingle on your tongue represents the fizzy aspect which does work!
I would say this is pretty spot on flavour wise and definitely reminds you of the energy drink it is based upon!
Strawberry Watermelon
Vape Club Say:

I Say:
Wow this is blummin cold! The inhale takes your breath away in an icy fashion!
To follow you get a sweet but still quite earthy Watermelon flavour which is being given a massive hug by a Strawberry!
Although this has quite a Candy style there is some tang in there too.
I am left with a strange aftertaste though, but I avoid Watermelon vapes as much as I can so I am not sure if this is a usual thing?
As for whether it fits the description – I would say so. But the ice is slightly overpowering and I could feel the chill right down into my lungs, which got a bit uncomfortable after about 5 or 6 vapes.
I would rate this highly for flavour but it could do with the cooling being toned down a bit.
Cherry Ice
Vape Club Say:

I Say:
I do love a Cherry vape!
This is quite synthetic and there is a very floral perfumey note – with a hint of Cherry? It reminds me of Cherry Lips mixed with Floral Gums sweets.
I wasn’t a fan initially, however I chose to use this flavour for my endurance test and it really grew on me!
It is not the usual Cherry flavour you would expect and it has quite a lot of cooling, but I found it grew to be quite delicious after a while.
The fact the Cherry has more of a floral aromatic note means that it does not become sickly sweet when vaping repeatedly.
I did find a tiny but odd earthy background on the exhale which slightly put me off, but the flavour left on your tongue afterwards is delicious.
Whilst being an unusual take on the flavour profile, it somehow works – I really did not expect it to!
Blueberry Cherry Cranberry
Vape Club Say:

I Say:
There is a huge dose of flavour to this one!
Also the cooling is not as strong as other flavours in the range.
The clever thing about this pod is that the various fruits all jump up and down at different times and you get little surprises popping up whilst inhaling and exhaling!
This is a slightly tangier vape but there are still some sweet elements which appear.
However here and there you do get a slight “Ammonia” back note – which could be attributed to the style of Blueberry concentrate being used. This doesn’t happen every time, as the fruits seem to rotate in prominence.
All of the fruits in the description are present and correct and take their turn in being dominant. As the description states, this is a layered experience and it works OK apart from the occasional Ammonia waft which is a bit unpleasant.
Peach Ice
Vape Club Say:

I Say:
This is really Peachy and sweet.
Have you even eaten a can of Peaches? If so do you remember the flavour of the syrup the Peaches live in? If so that is the exact flavour you get from this!
Despite being sweet there are also some earthy tones which make this more realistic. Just like the tinned version!
There is a decent balance of cooling here, despite there being “Ice” in the name, I am not finding the blast as uncomfortable as some of the other flavours.
This for me works perfectly and should keep those who want fresh realistic fruit and candy / sweet fruit very happy!
Watermelon Ice
Vape Club Say:

I Say:
This is definitely a true representation of the flavour profile description!
The flavour is not quite as punchy as the rest of the range.
It is a sweeter rendition of Watermelon but still has some of the earthy qualities in the background.
This is another cold one, which might be numbing my taste buds a bit as the flavour seems a lot quieter than some of the others I have tried from Vapengin.
Overall though it should keep most Watermelon enthusiasts reasonably happy – it just could do with the flavour ramping up and the cooling toning down.
Cool Mint
Vape Club Say:

I Say:
Well this is cool and very minty!
It is not so much of a Menthol style vape, as there is no Eucalyptus taste, it is more like a mint sweet. It reminds me of Mint Imperials a lot.
If you want a device to replicate the flavour of a Menthol cigarette, this is not quite there.
But you do get the icy cold sensation which is followed by a strong refreshing minty flavour and a great throat hit! It does exactly what it says in the description!
Airflow
This is a good MTL (Mouth To Lung) inhale, on a scale of 0-10 (0= fully closed and 10 = like breathing fresh air) I would rate the resistance around 2 to 3. You can manage a restricted direct lung (RDL) on here but the MTL resistance is perfect.
Leaks?
Not a single dribble!
I am also pleased to report that none of the pods leaked in their packaging in transit either.
Performance
This worked an absolute treat, no issues at all to report! The auto fire was super quick and did not falter at all!
Also the amount of vapour from a low power disposable was very satisfying!
Battery / Pod Life
Obviously this will vary according to your own vape habits.
Puff counts are always a bit of a Grey area. How long is a puff? I tend to take the puff count promises as a guide as I have never achieved 600 puffs from 2ml of e-liquid or a 600 puff disposable vape!
However with previous 2ml devices I usually average from 200 to 300 puffs – I generally take 2 to 3 second inhales. So if this is below 200 or above 300 – it is worthy of note.
In comparison I got 413 puffs from a single pod with the Vapengin Venus. Which is well above my average – well done Vapengin!
Battery wise I got 323 puffs before the battery conked out and needed charging.
Pros
- Less waste and expense compared to standard disposables
- A twin pack of pods is a similar price to a single disposable vape, yet double the puff count
- Device worked perfectly every single time
- No leaks
- Love the LED effect through the body
- Clean modern styling
- Simple to use – would be better if there were instructions!!
- Perfect MTL airflow restriction
- Great amount of vapour which was a surprise!
- Excellent battery life – over 300 puffs between charges!
- Above average puff count per pod for me
Cons
- No instructions – which is a bit unforgivable considering the market they are targeting
- Some of the pods have very harsh cooling
- Slow charging – 1.5 hours
Final Review Verdict
This is a great little disposable vape alternative!
You are saving a fortune as two pods are a similar price to one single 600 puff disposable vape.
Even better than that there is less battery waste as you are only disposing of the pod component when it is empty. You keep and reuse the battery. So it is win / win for me!
I found the device worked perfectly, there were no leaks and it was simple to use.
But Vapengin really need to think of the people they are marketing this kit to. These will generally be people who have used simple disposable vapes or are total vape newbies. Therefore instructions on charging, LED indicator status and just what each component is, do really need to be included. There are not even any instructions on their website that you could download? Naughty Vapengin.
In general the flavours were great and gave a disposable vape style of sensation. Some do need a bit of tweaking though.
At times the cooling was a bit overpowering and made me feel like I was taking a deep breath on a very icy day. Which after a few inhales made my chest a bit uncomfortable. This may be down to me being a total lightweight in the cooling department as I don’t usually use icy e-liquids?
