The Aura Mini is a revolutionary type of new starter kit produced by Chinese manufacturer Vape Only.

The Aura Mini sports a stainless steel shell design and is aimed at people wanting to quit cigarettes, and as such is designed with easy use in mind, yet offers different styles of vaping with 0.33 and 0.5ohm coils for lung inhales, and 1 ohm coils for mouth to lung inhaling.

It is refilled from the top and interestingly the coils are also screwed into the top of the tank part, rather than the bottom.

Lets hope the days of leaky and unreliable CE4 clearomiser tanks and dodgy eGo batteries are coming to an end with the release of the Aura Mini…

As the Aura Mini is a full starter kit you have everything inside to start vaping, bar E-Liquid! Inside the attractive cardboard presentation box is-

Battery / Build

It’s one of the most well constructed starter kits you are likely to hold in your hand, with the outer shell of the Aura Mini manufactured from stainless steel, which gives it a nice premium feel. Its an all in one design with a plastic mouthpiece that has spit back protection in place – E-Liquid spitting back into your mouth is an all too common occurrence with some of the cheaper starter kits available today.

The Aura Mini is a top filling design, you simply remove the mouthpiece section by unscrewing it- this will then expose the coil and you fill into the chamber from there. You also can change coils with the same method, unscrew the coil from the top of this section and simply insert another. It’s simple and fuss free to do and can be done in no time at all.

At 150mm in length it’s by no means the smallest e cigarette kit out there that is for sure! The whole unit is operated by a simple button press, and this button also shows you visual alerts such as whether your battery is running low or whether you have a short. The button is nice and responsive, if a little on the clicky side.

The battery is a 1450 mAh lithium battery, that can fire coil resistances down to 0.3ohm, and is designed to provide long battery life to new starters. For heavier vapers such as myself it won’t last too long, but newbies may find they get a full day before needing to recharge.

Charging is easy as it is all done through the micro USB slot- just ensure you charge the Aura Mini safely.

How Does The Aura Mini Perform?

It has got to be one of the best performing vape pen kits I have tried, I certainly don’t remember old eGo/ce4 kits tasting this good and outputting as much vapour! The spitback protection works great too to prevent juice from getting into your mouth, and I haven’t had a drop of juice leak out of this kit, which happens frequently with other starter kits.

The coil lifespan is quite decent too, you can get at least a week out of each coil, and Vape Only have generously included 3 different coils in the package so you could potentially have a couple of months worth of vaping right out of the box.

Bear in mind that the coils are fairly low resistance so you may find juice draining quite quickly, and you also will need to lower your nicotine strength, if using the 0.33 or 0.5ohm coils then I would recommend that you don’t use nicotine with a strength higher than 6mg/ml.

You also do not want to use juice that contains a VG content higher than 60VG, as I have found that these coils struggle to wick this type of juice which will result in a burnt taste.

Battery life is fairly good, if you are a newbie then you should get at least a full day’s use out of it, heavier, more experienced users will need to recharge this a couple of times a day. This is made quick and easy via the included micro USB charger.

Final Vape Only Aura Mini Review Verdict

The Aura Mini is up there with the best vape pen starter kits I’ve tried, and one that I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend to a new starter.

The good thing about this kit is that not only is it easy to use, easy to fill and recharge, but a new starter can get a taste for the different styles of vaping available with the three coil options available.

The 0.33 and 0.5ohm coils will provide experience of a lung hit (where you inhale vapour directly into your lung), whereas the 1ohm coil will provide a mouth to lung hit (where you inhale vapour into your mouth first before inhaling it into your lung, much like a cigarette), so if you are new to this you can make your own mind up about what style suits you best.

Flavour is actually really good with this kit, and certainly far better than a lot of the cheaper starter kits available. Vapour is very respectable too so you can get chasing some clouds straight away, without any fuss! This starter kit will definitely help people to get off the cigarettes by providing a really satisfying vape, that is leak as well as fuss free.

Starter kits have certainly come a long way since I first tried one many years ago!
