So, here I begin tasting my second line of Vape Mail e-liquids, with a review of the Vape Salt range.
Once again we are seeing the very familiar Vape Mail branding, but this time in 20mg nic-salts.
I recently covered a selection of their Gorilla short fill and was really impressed with the overall quality. Prior to that, I looked at the value for money that their subscription service offers.
The beauty of using nicotine salts is that producers can push up the levels of nicotine without fear of a harsh throat hit that is so often associated with free base nicotine.
I’ve never really been an avid MTL vaper and had to purposely buy an RDA that would allow me to get a true “flavour” for these new e-liquids.
Vape Mail hail from the town of Chester in North West England and aim to bring the best and the brightest of new and established e-liquids in regular, reliable monthly subscription packages.
The Vape Salt range are only available in 10ml bottles. This is due to their pre-mixed nicotine content of 20mg.
With a substantial range of flavours on offer (10 in total), varying between: fruit, dessert, sweets/candy and drinks, you should have no difficulty finding a flavour to suit your tastes.
Vape Mail Subscriptions and More…
As well as being available for individual purchase in individual 10ml bottles for £2.50, Vape Mail also offer a create your own package deal of 5 x 10ml bottles for £10 and the full range of 10 x 10ml bottles for £20.
This offers a saving of £2.50 and £5.00 respectively, bringing the individual bottles price for the full range to £2.00 per bottle.
Vape Mail also offer the option of a range of subscription packages. These start at £15 for 8 x 10ml bottles, available in dessert, fruit and mixed combinations, up to £27 for a mixed, 15 bottle.
Right, enough of this waffle, let’s get tasting.
I received this sample free of charge for the purpose of this review and as always, my views are my own.
Please remember that tastes are subjective, and your experience may be different to mine.
The 50:50 VG/PG mix of these e-liquids would make that a big hit with the pod vapers among us.
For this review I used my SX-Mini SL Class and the 22.2mm VapeFly Holic MTL RDA with a single round wire simple coil, coming in at 0.8 Ohms, cleaned and re-wicked between each flavour.
I will be vaping these flavours at 19W, unless stated otherwise.
Vape Mail Vape Salt | Pink Lemonade
Vape Mail Says:
Nic salt meets old fashioned pop with this refreshing delight. Adding sweet bitter raspberries to zesty homemade lemonade gives this a tangy flavour and turns it into a deliciously sweet vape. You’re gonna love it!
I say:
So, lemonade is probably my most vaped flavour and I figured this would be a good place to start.
Opening the bottle and having a little whiff, I was pleasantly surprised to be met with a red berry smell. Definitely dominant but not overpowering.
On the first vape, my initial reaction was “aww this is good”. I really enjoyed it.
There’s the sharpness you expect from the lemonade. More of a traditional “old” style lemonade with the fruity tartness of the raspberries muddled into the whole flavour, not just tagged onto the end.
There doesn’t appear to be any coolness added and this only serves to allow the lemonade pop.
The flavour is balanced both on the inhale and on the exhale.
I think you can probably tell that I like this. The other flavours will have to go a long way to beat this for my top spot.
Vape Mail Vape Salt | Blue Slush
Vape Mail Says:
A childhood favourite. Tingle your taste buds with this fresh, cool vape that combines the fruity flavour of blue mixed berries with an icy cool exhale. The perfect way to keep chilled in the hot weather.
I say:
Opening up this first bottle, I couldn’t help but feel a little nostalgic.
A massive combination of old school bubble gum and blue slush puppies (a bit obvious) hit me square between the nostrils. The smell is really strong, almost like an undiluted cordial.
With MTL vaping I find the majority of the flavour to be at the back end of the draw and the blue slush gave a refreshing blue raspberry taste at the back of the tongue but also on the full exhale.
When it comes to the “icy kick” I was underwhelmed, but very happy to be. The coolant has been moderated to cool, rather than cold. This let the blue raspberry muddle in the mouth in a really pleasant way.
This was an all round pleasure to vape on and I’m going to have to very conservative with my dripping or it’ll be gone all to soon.
Vape Mail Vape Salt | Butterscotch Custard
Vape Mail Says:
If you’re a fan of butterscotch pudding, you will absolutely love this silky smooth juice. Blended to deliver a buttery sweet butterscotch flavour with the aftertaste of creamy vanilla custard. A delicious and rich all day vape that will leave you wanting more.
I say:
For me right now, I’m taken back to my Granddad’s shed with the smell from the bottle being of pure Werther’s Original. The Butterscotch smell from this little beauty is amazing.
The front end of this flavour is a smooth, silky custard with the butterscotch giving an almost creme brulee texture to the exhale.
The sweetness has been very well balanced out, giving this offering a very lip-smacking quality.
For me, this is an evening vape. It doesn’t have the refreshing coolness I look for in an All-Day-Vape, but it will certainly be in my “relaxing with a beer” rotation.
Vape Mail Vape Salt | Black Mango
Vape Mail Says:
A summer flavoured classic. The deep bright flavour of freshly picked blackcurrants is combined with juicy ripe mangoes to unleash a taste sensation. It’s deliciously fruity and extremely refreshing.
I say:
Mango e-liquid has always been a favourite summer-time vape for me. Although, I have found in the past that the off the shelf offerings have needed to steep for a bit longer after I buy them to develop their full flavour, in my opinion.
The mango freshness hit my nose straight away. It smelled fruity and full, with just a tinge of blackcurrant right at the back.
Taking my first hit I was hoping to be impressed. The mango was a little under-ripe for me and a bit too mellow.
Don’t get me wrong, it’s a nice flavour and the blackcurrant definitely lifts the profile. But I feel like a mango based flavour should be cool and light.
Perhaps if there was a hint of cold to this it would have helped the balance a bit more.
Saying that, if you like that deep mango flavour this is definitely worth a shot for you.
Vape Mail Vape Salt | Iced Blue
Vape Mail Says:
Your tastebuds will come alive with this one! Experience the explosive taste of the tangy, zesty lime cutting through the sweet raspberries before hitting an icy blast. A sensational flavour that will make you feel like your mouth has turned blue.
I say:
The first smell here was a little underwhelming. It’s sweet and pleasant, but doesn’t make me instantly think of raspberries. I got a kind of sherbert smell which I know sounds weird.
I gave my coil a good old drench and clicked fire, hoping that something would come forward with a little heat.
When I took my first hit everything started to make sense. Iced blue is first and foremost a cold vape. That is the very first thing I noticed. The raspberry is the supporting act…the chill factor is the star of the show.
The flavour gets better with each draw. The raspberry builds up over time leading to a great mouth feel and lasting fresh flavour.
The throat hit on this seems a lot less than the previous flavours, more calm and mellow and definitely reminiscent of true menthol cigarette (for me).
I found myself wanting to chain vape on this and quickly noticed the nicotine rush I was getting.
Be warned, this is gorgeous but it packs a punch.
It’s what I hoped the blue slush would be!
I WANT MORE!
Vape Mail Vape Salt | Rhubarb And Custard
Vape Mail Says:
Take a trip back to your favourite childhood sweetshop with our classic Rhubarb & Custard flavoured nic salt. We’ve combined the flavour of sherbet-sweet rhubarb with a classic creamy custard to create a lip-lickingly good vape. A must have for the retro sweet fans!
I say:
OH MY GOD! This is a sweet shop in a bottle.
The smells takes me straight back to my youth with the strong, sharp smell from the rhubarb nestled within the comforting warmth of the custard. I really hope this vapes as well as it smells…
That rhubarb hits you straight away on the first hit. Sharp and fresh, it’s a real eye-opener.
The custard comes out at the back, wrapping the flavour in a great smoothness on the exhale.
The fresh rhubarb stays with you right until the end.
This is a definite for the candy/sweet lovers out there and is definitely staying within the reach of my sweet tooth!
Vape Mail Vape Salt | Twisted
Vape Mail Says:
Who doesn’t love a Twister? Silky smooth pineapple ice cream combined with an icy blast of sweet strawberry and zesty lime to make a mouth watering fruity explosion. Perfect for a hot summer’s day.
I say:
Twister lollies are a big hit in my house with the little gingers and what always grabs me about twister e-liquids is how they fail to pack in that pineapple and strawberry tang you get.
I’m so glad to say that the smell from the bottle is exactly what I was hoping for.
The first draw just completes the picture for me. That creamy ice cream sitting at the back of sharp fruits is so moreish.
The lime sits right at the back of the inhale and elbows in its sharpness right when it’ needed.
The coolness of the fruit is definitely on the front end of the vape and the creamy texture leaves my mouth feeling cool and comforted at the same time.
This is a real winner for those hot summer days.
Vape Mail Vape Salt | Red Fruit Blitz
Vape Mail Says:
Unleash your fruity side with our magical Mixed Fruit cordial vape. We have combined the best sun-ripened fruits including apple, strawberry and cherry to create a mouth watering fruity explosion. It’s a perfect all-day vape.
I say:
Reading the description, the thing that concerned me was the mention of cherry. I’ve found in the past that cherry doesn’t translate very well into vaping at all.
The smell from the bottle was fresh and summery, but also rich and strong. The apple and strawberry were dominant…at this point everything is looking good!
The first vape was soft and fruity. The apple was the most prominent flavour for me at start, but gave way to a soft cherry and strawberry back end.
The exhale is a steady balance of fruit flavours with a great strawberry aftertaste.
The summer vapes just keep coming through thick and strong in this sample. I’m impressed.
Vape Mail Vape Salt | Jam Roly Poly
Vape Mail Says:
We all love childhood flashbacks, and this will take you right back to the days of school dinners. Just imagine the taste of that classic fluffy suet pudding oozing with sweet and sticky raspberry jam – it’s a classic British dessert in a bottle!
I say:
Hmm, now me and jam flavours have a bit of a checkered past. I think I might be the only person who doesn’t rate a certain jam flavoured e-liquid that many find to be perfect.
The first smell I get is that of gloopy red fruits. I’d have said it was more of a strawberry smell and it would be hard to convince me otherwise if I hadn’t read the description.
There is a cakey smell too which dampens down the fruit…this could be interesting.
There is a nice warmth to the inhale that is wrapped in lovely sweet jam…however…
I honestly don’t like this flavour. The raspberry jam is pleasant enough, but the cake portion just dulls the whole thing down.
It has a definite sweetness that I like but I can’t get past the dulling sensation I get just seems to spoil the experience for me.
I really hope you think I’m wrong on this one. And if dessert flavour profiles “float your boat” then please tell me in the comments.
Vape Mail Vape Salt | Iced Grape
Vape Mail Says:
There is something special about smooth cooling vapes on a scorching hot day. And this is a truly delicious combination of juicy red grapes with a chilling icy kick. The perfect vape for a heatwave.
I say:
Right then, I’ve got a feeling I’m going to be saying very good things about this one.
I’m a big fan of Element Vapes Far Grape e-liquid and opening up this offering from Vape Mail Vape Salt I’m getting a much richer smell.
It’s full bodied and has a little sweetness that I feel I’m going to enjoy.
Taking the first hit, I was met with the coolness straight away. Not a full blown chill and much more pleasant.
The grape flavour is balanced throughout both the inhale and exhale, leaving almost a gloopy grape juice flavour coating the sides of your mouth.
The cool exhale is fresh and calming. I can see this being a hit for a hot day.
To be honest, I just kept revisiting this one so much that I’ve almost run out…damn it!
Final Review Verdict
The impressive flavours from vape-mail just keep coming and coming. They really seem to have hit their stride with the balancing in their e-liquids.
I don’t think there was one bad flavour in this sample. Yes, there were a few that weren’t in my profile range but that’s not to say they weren’t expertly crafted.
My stand out favourite had to be the rhubarb and custard. I could suggest that they used the food grade flavourings found in the sweets here, but that is pure speculation.
I’ve tasted a huge range of e-liquids in my time reviewing, but rarely am I impressed with a whole range of offerings from a single company. Especially considering there were 10 flavours to get through!
One note of caution I feel I need to add is that the nicotine content is not for the faint of heart. I had to break the testing in this review into at least 5 separate days, purely because of the potency of the 20mg content.
If you are a new vaper looking to quit the stinkies or you run a pod system, I would definitely recommend giving the vape salts range from vape-mail a good looking at.
Perhaps, in time we might see these flavours being offered in lower nicotine concentrations. Only time will tell.
So, have you tried the Vape Mail Vape Salt range?
