Vape Mail Review | Gold Subscription Service – It’s in the BAG!

Vape Mail, I have to say is a great idea.

Now, the prospect of someone bringing goodies to my door always appeals to me…just ask any of my local takeaways.  I’ve been wanting to try out an e-liquid subscription service for over a year now. Finally my time has come!

Introduction to Vape Mail Subscription Service

Vape-Mail hail from the town of Chester in North West England and aim to bring the best and the brightest of new and established e-liquids in regular, reliable monthly subscription packages.

The Vape-Mail subscription service is available in 3 tiers:

• Silver – £17.99 – 100ml E-Liquid (2 Flavours) + 2 Nic Shots + Further discounts
• Gold – £29.99 – 200ml E-Liquid (4 Flavours) + 4 Nic Shots + Vapemail Scratch Card + Further Discounts
• Platinum – £44.99 – 300ml E-Liquid (6 Flavours) + 6 Nic Shots + 2 VapeMail Scratch Cards +  Further Discounts
• Delivery is free for all subscriptions within the UK – £7.50 Within the EU and £12.50 Rest of the World.

Each appear to offer definite value for money when you consider that the Drip Hacks Honeycomb Latte alone would cost you £9.99, plus a nic shot (99p), plus delivery (minimum £3.60). This means that even if you subscribed to the lowest tier you would make a minimum saving of approximately £4, without delivery.

This in itself is a positive, but there are extras too. The Silver tier then offers 10% off additional bottles of E-liquid and 15% off their own brand Gorilla e-liquid range. Jump to the Gold package and you get an impressive 20% off all extra e-liquids you buy.

I was sent the Gold tier package which contained 200ml of e-liquid, 4 x 10ml nic shots (20mg nic-salts). It also came with a scratch card that give me a chance to win anything from e-liquid to hardware and even a 1 year subscription!

For this review I used my SX-Mini G Class and the 24mm Dead Rabbit RDA with a pair of Chris Grimes Staple Staggered Fused Clapton coils coming in at 0.14Ohms, cleaned and re-wicked between each flavour.

Exceptional Vapes | Chubby Juice | The Red One

Exceptional Vapes Says:

Calling all dark one lovers!! We have the perfect flavour here for you. We removed the grape and replaced it with a fresh juicy strawberry. Don’t worry it still has the cool hit we all crave. Staff say it tastes like the famous children’s medicine we all used to love as a kid but we will let you decide

I say:

From the first smell you are overcome with strawberries. Not fresh and ripe, but more the taste of strawberry sweets such as those big haribo strawbs. I got something like watermelon on the nose too. Now maybe that’s my mind being strange, but that’s what I could smell.

After a good soaking of the coils I took my first inhale. The taste was clean, if a little too synthetic for my liking. The flavour was bang on: it was strawberry sweets with a cool draw. I emphasis cool and not cold. There’s no brain freeze going on here, just a freshness that I really enjoyed.

On the exhale the flavour profile stays consistent and that Haribo flavour keeps on giving. Now I love sweets and this stuff kept me chuffing away happily for hours.

Exceptional Vapes suggests this tastes a bit like Calpol. I don’t really get that as the sweetness isn’t as obvious as it is in the medicine. However, it was definitely moreish.

With an 80:20 VG/PG ratio, as expected the clouds were thick and vast. I loved this! There was so much satisfaction from this juice that I was afraid I would finish it before I’d got round to writing this piece!

A straightforward flavour done very well. This is a strawberry juice for the sweet/candy lovers out there.

Exceptional Vapes | Chubby Juice | Custard Donut

Exceptional Vape Says:

A deep fried doughnut, with a soft gooey filling of sweet thick vanilla custard

I say:

Now custards are a little out of my wheelhouse when it comes to flavour choices. But after trying this offering from Exceptional Vapes I’m beginning to question my choices.

The flavour is just so rounded and comforting, it’s like being wrapped in a comfortable blanket.

The smell from the bottle is mellow, yet rich and after the first draw I swear i can taste little bits of vanilla pods. Ok, maybe I’ve over egged the custard there (get it? lol), but it is truly a fantastic flavour.

For me, it’s an after dinner flavour.  Due to the richness I couldn’t vape this all day. To be honest that’s a good thing as it will make this bottle last a while.

Ok, so from an 80:20 VG:PG ratio the clouds are as dense as you’d expect and I quickly fogged out every room I went in (so satisfying!) and as I’ve said earlier the flavour is great and has definitely got me into trying out custards in the long-term.

Drip Hacks | Honeycomb Latte

Drip Hacks Says:

A delicious honeycomb flavour latte with caramel notes

I say:

Pop this open and give it a good long sniff. On the nose I got a creamy, caramel latte. Light yet rich and with the sweetness of honey….please let me try it! Oh wait, it’s a review. Nice one!

The creamy, rich roasted coffee really came through in both flavour and aroma. It definitely gave me the mouth feel of a high street latte on the inhale.

The honey is subtle enough on the exhale to sweeten and lighten the overall experience. It makes the exhale more luxurious

On investigation it appears this is a special christmas blend but I think this could be turned into the perfect summer vape with a little coolant in to turn it into an iced caramel latte…one for the recipe books eh Drip Hacks?

Juicy Nerds | Amped Apple Blackberry

Juicy Nerds Says:

tart green apples and juicy blackberries come together to create the perfect contrast in this fantastic sweet vape.

I say:

On first smell I must admit that this felt a little muted. With a name like Juicy Nerds I’d expected a really sweet, sugary smell with a little tartness in, reminiscent of the little sweets that came in boxes when I was a nipper.

When I vaped this however, that’s exactly what I got! A little bit of sour apple and a butt load of blackberry. Not fresh fruit, but a very candied, with a little sherbet tang on the back

With it’s funky, sweet wrapper packaging, this juice is definitely not one to judge by its cover. It’s a great blend of sweet and tang and I kept going back for more.

The 70:30 VG:PG ratio made for some pretty decent clouds (bro) but I found to get the best from my setup I had to bump the wattage up to 90W. So keep that in mind.

I was definitely surprised by Juicy Nerds and as proves my point about a subscription service, I would never have picked this in the shop.

I managed to find this e-liquid for sale, using a simple brand name search, for £6.99 for 60ml. Now at that price I don’t think you can argue….take a punt.

Final Verdict

Now, I’m a creature of habit. I basically vape the same e-liquids month in and month out.

What the Vape-Mail subscription offers me is variety. The opportunity to try new and exciting flavours without the painstaking agony of standing in a shop wondering if you’ve made the right choice.

Each of the flavours provided this month surprised me in some way and I’m already thinking about what the lucky subscribers are going to get through their letter boxes next month.

Needless to say, I’m quite taken by this service. The convenience is great (especially for people without a B&M nearby) but the price is better. The savings speak for themselves.
