We recently reviewed the Pinkman range from Vampire Vape and that was a hit, will the Bar Salts Shortfill range be another winner?

What Can We Expect From The Vampire Vape Bar Salts Shortfill Range?
Vampire Vape took the popular flavours found in their wildly popular Bar Salts nicotine salt range. They decided to change the mix ratio to 60VG/40PG and offer them as shortfills to appeal to those that like a bit more power in their vape kits!
This means that you have 100ml of nicotine free e-liquid in a 120ml bottle, with space to add two 10ml nicotine shortfills.
Ten flavours make up the Bar Salts shortfills range, which aims to replicate the full frontal, sweet flavours you get from some of the most popular disposable vapes around.
The flavours that comprise this range are Blue Sour Raspberry, Pink Lemonade, Cola, Blue Razz Lemonade, Grape, Kiwi Passion Fruit Guava, Lemon & Lime, Pineapple Ice, Strawberry Ice and Watermelon.
Before I start this review off, I must mention that as with any e-liquid, taste is subjective and in my review I will write up my own experiences with each e-liquid.
Your experience may differ, as people have differing palates, preferences on taste and different vaping set ups which can offer a totally different flavour experience.
I’ll be using my Aspire Veynom LX with a fresh 0.3ohm BP Meshed Coil for this review. I added two 18mg freebase nicotine shots to each shortfill to give me 3mg strength e-liquid.

Packaging
The bottles have a childproof cap and you need to remove the clear nozzle cap underneath to add your nicotine shots.
This is quite firmly secured to the bottle, I had to lever it off with the head of a flathead screwdriver to remove it and add my nicotine shots! There are tools available to make this job easier!
On the label, the flavour is quite clearly displayed along with the bottle size and 60/40 mix ratio.
Ingredients and warnings are listed on the back, along with contact details for the manufacturer.
Expiry date and batch number is printed on the base of the bottle.
Blue Razz Lemonade

This isn’t a flavour that I would normally opt for but colour me surprised here!
On the inhale I’m hit with a really zesty Blue Raspberry flavour. That is followed up by an equally zesty Lemonade which adds a delicious citrus twang and pairs very well with the Blue Raspberry flavouring.
At the end, there’s just a small hint of Koolada to finish things off and overall this is a really well crafted e-liquid.
I really did enjoy this, from start to finish. I can safely say that this big shortfill won’t be lasting me too long!
Cola

Now this is a classic Cola flavour and a really well done one at that.
In fact, it is one of the better Cola e-liquids that I have tried. The fact that I can pick up on notes such as Vanilla and a slight hint of Cinnamon flavouring just goes to show the expertise of Vampire Vape and the thought that has gone into blending this e-liquid.
This one definitely hasn’t been just thrown together!
The only thing that is missing for me is the fizz, otherwise this genuinely would be the perfect Cola vape – ‘the real thing’ you might say!
Kiwi Passion Fruit Guava

This does tick all the boxes when it comes to a Kiwi Passion Fruit Guava vape!
You’ve got one of the most popular disposable flavours in a big old bottle of e-liquid here and the flavour profile is pretty much absolutely spot on.
Firstly I get the Kiwi, with an undertone of Passionfruit, before the Guava comes in and finishes it all off. My only complaint here is that the Passionfruit note could be a touch stronger, but other than that it definitely does the job!
Grape

I can safely say I wasn’t a particularly big fan of this one.
I can take or leave Grape e-liquids. I’ve never been a particularly great fan of them, but my wife on the other hand absolutely loves them.
With this one, neither of us enjoyed it too much. It tasted too artificial and very oversweetened, requiring me to change my coil and wash my tank out after I had finished vaping it!
There is some Grape flavouring there, but unfortunately it is overwhelmed with a bit of a nasty artificial taste that I just couldn’t get on with at all.
Strawberry Ice

Even though the Strawberry flavour was quite candied, which isn’t usually my bag, I did actually enjoy this one. Quite a lot if I’m honest, it definitely grew on me the more I vaped it!
So, I get that candied Strawberry flavour at the start, which has a pretty strong level of sweetness to it. It definitely got my mouth watering!
After the Strawberry flavouring, there’s a wave of koolada that washes through and gives this e-liquid a nice, icy feel to it. And it isn’t too overwhelming, nor does it drown out the Strawberry flavour, but it does blend in very nicely indeed.
A sweet and refreshing vape!
Watermelon

Unfortunately this one was let down by being too sweet and too artificial tasting.
I get a real sharp candied Watermelon flavour that has both a very sweet and strong aftertaste to it and left me with a bit of a strange taste in my mouth.
I’m not a big fan of Watermelon flavours but I am always willing to give them the benefit of the doubt (a couple have surprised me!), but this effort just wasn’t it for me.
Definitely not for me!
Lemon & Lime

One of my favourite fruity combinations that I can enjoy all year round, I do look forward to a Lemon and Lime flavoured e-liquid!
Bar Salts by Vampire Vapes version reminds me of a Lemon and Lime soda, just without the fizz. It balances sweet and sour and the Lemon and Lime flavours intertwine with each other very well indeed.
I felt that the sour notes were a little drowned out by the level of sweetness, but this is a little different to a lot of the Lemon and Lime bar salt styled e-liquids on the market.
Pineapple Ice

Pineapple Ice is another favourite flavour of mine, so again this is another one that I was looking forward to diving into!
I was met with a Pineapple Cube styled flavour, reminiscent of the sweets that I used to get in my pick ‘n’ mix, that is finished off with a koolada chill.
Not a teeth chattering one mind, but just enough to balance out the sweetness of the Pineapple flavouring.
A perfect refreshing vape for those sunny summer days that are on their way in!
Pink Lemonade

I felt that this was a bit of a ‘run of the mill’ Pink Lemonade e-liquid. It has the right notes in it but it is nothing special if I’m honest.
The Lemonade flavour comes in at the start, with a subtle hint of tartness from Cranberry to make the Pink element. There’s a bit of sweetness to it, but certainly not as full on as some of the other flavours that make up this range.
If anything and this did surprise me with this range, it was a little on the underflavoured side, I was expecting a little more from this one!
Blue Sour Raspberry

This is definitely a zesty and enjoyable little number!
I’m quite enjoying some of the Blue Sour Raspberry e-liquids recently and this one is up there with the better ones that I’ve tried.
It boasts a great blend of sweet and sour flavours that are in your face, yet not too overwhelming at the same time. And of course, it’s finished off with some koolada for an icy note.
The Blueberry and Raspberry flavours are a little on the candied side but that is to be expected with a Blue Sour Raspberry vape. This tastes like a tasty little sweet and is a tangy, enjoyable vape!
Final Review Verdict
I have been really impressed with the Vampire Vape Bar Salts shortfills for the most part. It shows their industry expertise when it comes to crafting e-liquids, with some excellent flavour blends on offer here.
I had my fears that these wouldn’t work when vaping them at high wattage. As bar salt e-liquids are notoriously over-flavoured and over-sweetened to replicate the disposable experience, but those fears were quickly allayed as soon as I started vaping away on these.
The strong, full frontal flavour experience of a disposable vape is present here, with some extra clouds thrown in thanks to the 60/40 VG/PG mix ratio.
And I can confirm that they are a great fit for your sub ohm tank, but can also be vaped in a pod kit if you aren’t too concerned about the low nicotine content.
You are getting a lot of e-liquid and a lot of flavour for your money here. Now if they could add some dessert flavours to this fruit heavy range I would be a happy man indeed!
