Today I’m taking a look at the Vampire Vape Bar Salts range of E-Liquids.
Practically everyone on the vaping scene will have heard of Vampire Vape. They’ve won countless awards over the years including for best Mint and best Dessert based E-liquids.
Heisenberg is a name that’s forever linked with this UK based manufacturer and seven years on its still winning awards for best Menthol. (Runner up here in the Ecigclick Awards 2021).
Over the last decade their range of flavours has steadily increased from 12 to 54 as Vampire Vape continue to think outside the box, creating recipes to suit current trends.
Well current trends means disposable vapes to a large extent. So that’s why their most popular flavours were included in a collaboration with GEEKBAR.
But not everyone’s enamoured by the idea of disposables and that’s been enough to spark another trend.
The flavour of disposables in a bottle – for use with vape pens and starter kits.
The Vampire Vape Bar Salts range of E-liquids caters to this audience.
Thank you to Vape Club for sending these over for review!
Let’s have a nose, shall we?
What Can We Expect From the Vampire Vape Bar Salts Range?
Let’s face it – why should disposable vapes rule the roost when it comes to convenience?
Lower powered starter kits and pod kits do the job just as well. It’s just that they’ve never been privy to the flavour intensity often experienced from disposable vapes.
Until recently.
The Vampire Vape Bar Salts range come in 10ml bottles filled with a selection of their most popular flavours in either 5mg, 10mg or 20mg salt nicotine strengths. I am reviewing the 10mg strength.
These strengths are ideal for the new vaper as salt nicotine lowers PH levels, providing a faster absorption rate and a much smoother throat hit when used with the appropriate lower powered vape set ups.
So if you’re considering trying these, opt for MTL (mouth to lung) starter kits such as the Innokin Endura T20-S or Vaporesso XROS 3 pod kit.
The range comes as a 50VG/50PG juice ratio so don’t expect vast plumes of cloudage but do expect more in the way of flavour intensity.
Specifications
- 10ml bottle
- 5mg, 10mg / 20mg Nicotine strength
- 50VG/50PG juice ratio
- Blended for MTL vaping
- TPD compliant
- Made in the UK
- Childproof cap
- Tamper evident seal
It’s time to see if Vampire Vape have bottled the experience of a disposable vape.
Please remember that flavour is subjective. It usually comes down to the choice of kit used.
I’m using the Geekvape Wenax U pod kit with the 0.7ohm U cartridge to test the range. It’s perfectly suited to the E-liquid ratio.
Cola
VV Says:
You will love the authentic taste of the soda that you get here and it boasts the hints of Cinnamon, citrus and Vanilla that you would expect. A timeless treat, Cola will hit the spot with every puff you take!
I Say:
This is very similar to drinking straight from a can of Coke. It may just be me but I’m also convinced of a metallic taste, emulating the can itself. It’s a highly authentic rendition of the popular soft drink, put it that way.
I’m pleasantly surprised because I’m used to a lame, powdered vending machine style flavour. You know, Flat Cola without the fizz or bite.
We get all the syrupy texture. It’s been finely reproduced here and Vanilla tones run alongside, noticeable on both inhale as well as on the way out.
Faint traces of Cinnamon get left on the tongue and loiter around the taste buds, almost acting to replace the fizziness of the drink. It’s not quite re-imagined here but it’s a damn fine effort nonetheless.
Expect that uplifting spiciness too as it joins forces with a bitter sweetness mid vape.
I actually enjoyed the presence of cooling because it adds so much more to the whole experience on this occasion.
Refreshing Cola. In a vape. Plain and simple.
Grape
VV Says:
If you have been searching for fruity juice with a difference, Grape should fit the bill. It delivers the sweet and delicious taste of Purple Grapes, but they are backed by hints of Aniseed for cooler exhales.
I Say:
This isn’t for me. Let me get that out of the way.
I’ve never been the biggest fan of anything Grape related as a vape and the Vampire Vape version does nothing to change my mind, I’m afraid.
It’s as caustic and metallic tasting as the majority of generic fodder churned out cheaply in corner shops up and down the land. Yes, it does have plenty of sweetness and that’s evident from the very first inhale but when combined with a salty, bitterness things get sickly sweet.
Fast.
It’s not mentioned in the name but – yes – you guessed it – ice partners with the chemically engineered fruit and amplifies the flavour still.
Grape does also have a strong candy back note so those with a sweet tooth will no doubt whole heartedly disagree with my thoughts.
This is no fault of Vampire Vape. I just don’t like a vape Grape..
NRG Ice
VV Says:
If you enjoy energy drinks and particularly a certain one that allegedly gives you wings, this juice is a must-have. The blend of zingy fruits, fizz and ice really works and will always give you a lift.
I Say:
As you can imagine there’s plenty of chilling ice in this one and it’s needed to emulate the experience of the classic energy drink.
It’s one of those occasions where increased cooling levels are therefore tolerable.
The ingredients that make up this familiar taste are all nicely enhanced. They’re not too intense either which makes for a refreshing change – literally.
Sourness levels are marginalised and Liquorice back notes help bring out the sweet candy properties on the exhale.
It has a chalky texture that’s more pronounced than many other versions I’ve tried and I like that. This rendition is a mix of sweet and beverage profiles, in my opinion.
Folks enjoy the actual drink all year round. I see no reason why this E-liquid should be any different.
Kiwi Passion Fruit Guava
VV Says:
Kiwi Passion Fruit Guava would be a great choice from the collection if you are looking for a refreshing all day vape with a tropical feel. The balanced blend of exotic fruits really works and will give you uplifting puffs that you will certainly savour.
I Say:
Whoa! Flavour intensity alert. The sensation of saturation returns again with Kiwi Passion Fruit Guava. That’s very much welcome because it gives the experience of a fresh, juicy tropical fruit drink.
It’s a bit of a Summer special in fact. The main fruit I get is Grapefruit although it’s instilled with a sourer property so no doubt I’m confusing it with Kiwi.
There’s quite a hefty portion of tartness thrown in too for good measure and works together with the sweeter element of the vape.
This is probably the most lively and invigorating flavour profile out of the ones tested thus far.
Even the raised ice levels play their part. It adds to the feeling of a thirst quenching drink, cooling the throat on a hot Summers day.
Pink Lemonade
VV Says:
There’s something special about a glass of Pink Lemonade and this delightful juice captures that experience perfectly. You get the sweetness, fruitiness and citrus kick that you would expect and so what’s not to like?
I Say:
What’s not to like? I find it quite pleasant tasting.
There’s plenty of cooling on the build up during inhale but it doesn’t feature highly on my Sting-O-meter, registering around a 4. So it doesn’t impact on overall flavour quality.
It soothes the throat and helps to liven the experiences of the exhale.
Cranberry is usually used in the popular drink to give it that pink colour hue but I always attribute its acidity to the Lemon content. That’s pretty much what this one is all about.
The Cranberry merely serves to add a few tart like sub notes but they do combine well enough with the fruit.
I think what helps Pink Lemonade stand out on this occasion is the saturation level which is quite high. It makes me think of the flavoursome Summer drink even more.
This Lemon isn’t synthetic or chemical tasting either and the levels of sweetness are pitch perfect.
Definitely one of the better Pink Lemonade e-liquids I’ve tried in a while.
Strawberry Ice
VV Says:
It’s hard to beat a great fruity vape with chill and that’s exactly what you have here. Sweet Strawberry notes light up the inhale before the ice arrives on the exhale to create a refreshing feel.
I Say:
It’s an incredibly sweet vape, that’s instantly noticeable on the inhale. For once it actually eclipses the icy content – it’s not often I say that!
The Strawberry is quite generic, don’t expect a natural tasting fruit. That’s not the intention here. Instead it’s similar to a Skittles sweet but without the gummy qualities.
This vape is clearly designed with the mainstream vaper in mind. It’s more than accessible to anyone, come to think of it. The only downside in my opinion is the level of sweetener.
Again, since Vampire Vape have disposable vapers in mind that’s not necessarily a bad thing.
It’s also good that the cooling isn’t overpowering. It hits the back of the throat but never obtrusively so fair play to Vampire Vape.
Blue Sour Raspberry
VV Says:
This Blue Sour Raspberry Bar Salt is a sourly sweet treat that’s perfect for all those who love a tangy twist in their vape. We’ve stirred things up here by mixing up the zesty taste of tart Blueberries to deliver a wildly vivid taste of freshly picked fruits.
I Say:
This is indeed quite a rich and tangy vape.
There’s plenty of cooling sucked up into the inhale, latching onto the throat and tongue from the get go.
This is a delightful fusion of two dark Summer fruits. The Raspberry intertwines successfully with the smoother properties of Blueberry.
The sweetness levels are spot on but you may feel slightly overwhelmed by the sourness of the exhale. I personally think it gives added depth to what is a rather tasty and quite mouth watering vape.
Does it need the levels of Koolada it includes? It’s possibly a little too much for my liking but it’ll soon make a difference during those long, hot Summer months.
A very cleverly crafted fusion of fruity flavour in my opinion.
Blue Razz Lemonade
VV Says:
This Blue Razz Lemonade Bar Salt is a super sweet fruity treat that’s the ideal mix for anyone looking for some flawlessly balanced bliss! Deliciously sweet Blue Raspberries collide with some lightly zingy Lemonade here for a tangy twist that’s well-rounded off with a cool finish.
I Say:
Wow! The flavour really kicks in this one.
The mouth watering Lemonade steals the show as it leaves an indelible imprint after the exhale. It’s effects are left long after completing the vape – always the sign of an impressively mixed E-liquid.
There’s a clever mixing with much of the zesty, tangy qualities emanating from the sweet Blue Raspberries.
You’ll notice some of that during inhale before the freshness of the Lemonade takes over.
It’s a clever twist on a familiar formula and Vampire Vape have pushed more towards an original take on an age old flavour profile.
Those Blue Raspberries have really caught me off guard! Who would’ve thought such a combination could taste this good?
The addition of a decently balanced Koolada makes Blue Razz Lemonade a cert. For any month of the year, I might add.
Blueberry
VV Says:
This Blueberry Bar Salt just goes to show that certain things always deserve to be picked! The pleasantly rich taste of Blueberry makes this a timeless vape flavouring that’s sure to please any fan of a deeply sweet taste that they can pick up at any time of day.
I Say:
I’m not the biggest lover of this one.
I totally get that it’s a popular version of Blueberry and one often experienced from a disposable vape. Vampire Vape have done a fine job of emulating that experience.
For me, it’s too much on the artificial, synthetic side to be all that enjoyable.
I’ve described the taste before. It’s very similar to receiving a mouthful of Hairspray, if indeed that makes sense!
Of course there’s plenty of sweetness to go around and it punctuates the overall flavour but perhaps it could do with more zest or tanginess.
The Koolada will certainly cool the ‘ole tonsils along the way, that’s for sure.
Cherry Raspberry Strawberry Ice
VV Says:
This Cherry Raspberry Strawberry Ice is a fruity ice blast of some of the most delectable summer fruits out there! On the inhale, you’ll enjoy the sweetly mouth-watering taste of candied Cherries with a tinge of sour Raspberry which is then rounded off by some refreshing Strawberries and seriously strong menthol on the exhale.
I Say:
The predominant flavour here is Cherry without a doubt. It’s tasty, punchy and highly accessible.
Yes, it’s artificial tasting but certainly on par with the flavour you’d expect from a disposable vape. It’s got that candy like vibe running through it.
I pick out plenty of sourness which could be in relation to either those Cherries or the Raspberry – it’s quite difficult to tell.
It does seem that there’s a subtle blending of Raspberry and Strawberry. Both of these fruits are pretty much held under the constraints of the dominant Cherry.
Yes, I do have some difficulty with this trio of flavours, to be honest. That may be due to the higher level of sweetness throwing me off or my taste buds simply aren’t receptive enough to the Berry content.
It’s still a very tasty, inspiring vape though and the overall flavour holds up very well.
The cooling blast on the inhale also keeps the profile bright and refreshing.
Mango
VV Says:
This Mango mix is the newest in our line of Bar Salts that delivers the taste of one of the most excitingly exotic treats that’s just perfect in the heat. The world’s most totally tangy fruits just got a whole lot smoother, making this one of the best infusions of ripe Mango vapes you can find.
I Say:
Mango vapes. They either taste great or just plain artificial. What have Vampire Vape done with this single fruit profile?
The guys did good!
The most striking thing isn’t the flavour, believe it or not.
It’s how incredibly smooth the exhale is. Yes, nicotine salt isn’t harsh anyway but Vampire Vape have made this Mango taste silky smooth.
Onto the flavour…
Its bang on! Not too concentrated, very natural tasting and with just the right amount of sweetness. So the overall subtle nature of the taste means there’s no chemical, “Cats Pee” aroma to worry about!
A tanginess also erupts mid vape which adds to the mouth watering qualities of Mango.
I do however think the Koolada is on the intense side and doesn’t need to be so cutting on the throat.
Then again, that’s what you generally expect from a disposable vape so in this respect Vampire vape have produced a top drawer disposable emulator of an E-juice.
I’m digging the smoothness and natural flavour of Mango.
Updated October 2023
It is Michelle – I received 6 more flavours in the 5mg nic salt strength so have added these to the original review.
I will be using my Oxva Xlim Pro with the 0.8ohm V2 pods. A new pod will be used for each flavour.
Banana Ice
Vampire Vape Says:
“This Banana Ice Bar Salt features the luscious and sweet taste of perfectly ripe Bananas combined with a subtle hint of minty freshness, creating an irresistible blend for a long-lasting flavour.”
I Say…
This is the vape version of the Banana Foam Sweets – like those below!
It is bloody delicious. It is very sweet and not an authentic fresh Banana representation but these liquids are based on the candy like experience you would get from a disposable vape.
Then to just make this even better there is a nice cool blast which brings even more refreshment. It is not too icy that it numbs your taste buds either, which is perfect as you can then enjoy the concentration of yummy Banana sweeties as you exhale.
I thoroughly enjoyed this flavour, even though in general Banana would not be a flavour which would attract me. However VV have created something here I could vape all day long!
Cherry Cola
Vampire Vape Says:
“This Cherry Cola Bar Salt is an exhilarating combination of Cherry’s fruity sweetness and the zesty, spiced profile of Cola. The Cherry infuses a delightful fruitiness into the Cola’s classic effervescence, creating a rich, layered flavour offering a taste that’s both nostalgic and refreshingly contemporary.”
I Say…
This is lovely.
I get a sweet scented Cherry flavour to begin with alongside a nice whack of ice.
As the vapour is in your mouth and when you exhale the Cola aspect kicks in.
This is a generic Candy/Sweetie style Cola – if you think of the Cola Bottle Sweets (not the fizzy ones) – that is the back note to the Cherry.
Often I find the Cola Bottle Sweet flavoured vapes to be a bit yuk as they just taste like Flat Cola. But the addition of the Cherry and the perfect amount of cooling really elevates this to something more complex and interesting.
The Cherry and Ice really save this from becoming a boring generic Cola vape!
All it is missing is a bit of Fizz!
Pineapple Ice
Vampire Vape Says:
“This Pineapple Ice Bar Salt is a tantalising fusion of exotic sweetness and icy coolness that’s sure to transport your taste buds to a sun-soaked paradise. The initial taste is a burst of natural Pineapple sweetness, paired with an icy coolness that leaves you with a refreshing, glacial sensation.”
I Say…
This is actually a bit mellower than I was expecting!
There is plenty of Pineapple but this has a fresher flavour. I was expecting a Pineapple Candy/Sweetie type vibe!
This is not as sweet as the rest of the range but the perfectly proportioned ice component really brings it to life.
It is quite a realistic Pineapple reminiscent of a Pineapple Juice with lots of ice thrown in.
You even get the slight earthy foundation you would get eating the fruit.
Very well executed and blended!
Cherry Ice
Vampire Vape Says:
“This Cherry Ice Bar Salt is the perfect choice for those seeking a vibrant, cooling experience that captures the essence of Cherries at their peak. Ripe, succulent cherries are layered with a frosty, icy undertone for a refreshing flavour.”
I Say…
I could vape this all day long!
A delicious sweet Cherry flavour which is less synthetic than some disposable versions.
It does have a slight perfume-y element but this is not overpowering and fizzles out quite quickly.
You are left with a Cherry Syrup type flavour on the exhale which is amazing. It reminds me of a Cherry Bakewell Tart just without the Pastry. You get the taste of the Cherry with the sweetness of the Icing.
There is plenty of cooling but it is still quite reserved allowing your taste buds to absorb all of the juicy flavour.
I think this is perfection, the restraint used in the cooling is epic. Also the balance of the aroma and sweetness are spot on, it is perfect in my eyes. In fact I would use my own money to go out and buy this – it is that good!
Menthol
Vampire Vape Says:
“This Menthol Bar Salt features the dominant note of Menthol is its unmistakable icy coolness, which mimics the sensation of cold air rushing over your taste buds. This is perfect for a refreshing all-day vape.”
I Say…
This is a very unusual take on menthol!
I was expecting a heavy Eucalyptus but this has a sort of spicy minty thing going on?
Very very weird!
I can taste a kind of Spearmint, then some spice? I just can’t put my finger on it – possibly Cloves? It reminds me of Mulled Wine!
Actually it must be Cloves as it also reminds me of the liquid I use when I have Toothache. It is a bit medicinal – which is not pleasant.
There is definitely plenty of cooling, but the strange thing is how this actually hits your throat after exhale rather than your tongue. It feels like you are breathing ice cold air rather than just having a cold tongue.
This one is not great. I don’t like this medicinal tone and it does not taste of Eucalyptus as you would expect. Yes there is some mint – which is something you would associate with a menthol flavour but this is just way too odd?
I am not sure if a menthol fan would enjoy this?
Lemon & Lime
Vampire Vape Says:
“This Lemon & Lime Bar Salt is a delightful combination of zesty Lemons and tangy Limes, offering a taste that’s both invigorating and refreshingly versatile. “
I Say…
Whoa this has a right tang going on!
It is such a weird blending as to start with it is extremely tart and citrusy, then it kind of evolves as you exhale with a slight syrupy sweet back note!
I just don’t understand how this works!
How can you be getting a sour inhale and a sweeter exhale.
The cooling here is quite strong, but it really really works well. It enhances the tang with a cold tongue sensation!
I have a sweet tooth so this is not really my bag, but if you are someone who likes a sour sweetie this should be right up your street. It is not that sour that your bum hole clenches, as the exhale just takes the edge off it in time.
I am astonished how this works, the blending and cooling proportions have created something quite unusual and interesting. It definitely offers more than your usual Lemon & Lime e-liquid!
Final Review Verdict
Well all the flavours tested had a distinct intensity to them. So I’d say Vampire vape have succeeded in bottling the experiences of a disposable vape. That flavour quality remains right up to the moment the coil begins to dry out so consistency plays a vital role here.
Ok, not all the flavours were up my vape street and I would prefer to see more innovation when it comes to blending but it is what it is, I guess.
If it ain’t broke why try to fix it?
The cooling was a bit strong on occasion but that’s obviously only my take. Many others will welcome the raised levels. In fairness it works well with the likes of NRG and Kiwi Passion Fruit Guava.
The 10mg salt nicotine was a smooth as the proverbial and vapour production was more than satisfactory.
