Uwell have been solid performers in the Pod kit market with crowd favourites such as the Caliburn, Caliburn G and Crown kit.
Why Is The Uwell Tripod Kit Different?
There are 2 main components in the kit – the Tripod device (or mod) and the charging case.
Then to break this down further you open the charging case and there are 2 more replacement pods located inside the charging case. Hence the name “Tripod” – 2 spare pods plus the pod located on the mod = 3 pods – cushty.
Looking first at the actual mod – this has a weeny 370mAh battery. This is small but as you carry the mod in the charging case it recharges itself whilst not in use.
There is no charging port on the mod – you install it into the case for charging.
The output is stated as 11W maximum and I assume this means the power will decline as the battery charge depletes.
The brain of the mod is the Uwell BEIN chipset which offers lots of protections.
You install the removable pod of your choice into the mod body and it is refillable with up to 2ml of your own e-liquid via the side fill port.
Inside the pod is a 1.2ohm coil which is designed for higher nicotine strength e-liquids or Nicotine Salt liquids.
The coil is not removable so you will discard the whole pod when it wears out. No worries though as you will have 2 more stashed inside the charge case!
The charging case has an internal 1000mAh battery which you charge via the USB Type C port at up to 1.5A charge rate.
A display of LEDs mounted on the top of the case displays the charge status. To wake up the case simply touch the indicator plate.
As with the mod the case has a number of circuit protections provided.
There are 3 colours to choose from: Black, Metallic Green and Black & Gold.

I have tried similar devices with a purposely small battery and charging case (the Vaptio AirGo for instance) and they are quite handy but as I vape heavily I prefer a decent size kit where the battery is internal!

Hopefully the flavour will be the usual Uwell high standard, and the draw won’t be too loosey goosey. If the build quality is much better than that Marsupod thing 😂 then this might be a winner.
