Well, this is going to be interesting, the Uwell Amulet ‘vape watch’.
I’m all about innovation and gadgets, I absolutely love any electrical gizmo that I can link to my phone, operate from space or submerge into the Deep Blue Sea, so what we have here is probably something that a lot of people thought about, but never thought it would come to fruition.
Simply speaking, what we have is the worlds first watch that you can vape.
Its been designed and created by Uwell who very recently have been smashing it with some excellent devices, from the Crown to the Caliburn Pod kit, and even very recently the Soulkeeper Semi-Regulated Mech Mod which has been enjoying excellent feedback from reviewers.
With all this going on, Uwell have still found the time to create this Watch Pod System.
What Can We Expect From The Amulet Pod Watch by Uwell?
As a previous owner of the Apple Watch Series 1 and Series 2, and a current owner of a Samsung Galaxy watch, along with a number of Vaping products – I feel I’m quite well qualified to review this device.
Apart from the fact this is effectively 2 products – a watch, and a pod mod kit. There is nothing to compare this to directly. Being the first of its kind I’m not really expecting much, especially when you look at the specification.
Sporting a very small 370mAh battery capacity, 2ml e-liquid capacity, draw-activated and a 1.6Ω non-removable coil it doesn’t really get me that excited, add the word ‘Watch’ into the specification and I became a kid at Christmas.
OK.. Let’s crack on and see how this performs!
This device was sent free of charge for the purposes of review (thanks to Vaporl) as always my views are my own.

Design and Build Quality
The Pod
The Pod breaks down again into 2 sections, the tank, and the battery. As a whole its very small and made from a nice and thick, very dark Polycarbonate.
To remove the pod from the watch housing, you simply press on the spring-loaded button on the side of the casing and it unclips at the bottom, then all you have to do is lift it up.
To re-fit, slide the mouthpiece end in first, then push the bottom section into the casing, there’s a satisfying ‘Click’ as it locks into place.
The tank is removable by simply pulling it away from the battery, there doesn’t seem to be any magnets holding it in place, but it does fit in nice and snug and doesn’t feel like it could drop out.
At the base of the tank section is a silicone cap which opens up to fill with e-liquid, I generally used a 70/30 mix during my testing.
Although the tank hold 2ml of vape juice, and is re-fillable, the coil itself cannot be replaced, which means when the coil burns out, the pod is useless.
The mouthpiece section is very small, and your lips completely cover the top part of the watch, its not uncomfortable, but its not exactly the most comfortable pod to vape on.
In the Hand
The pod is a small chunky square, but it’s the perfect stealth vape pod. You can practically hide the pod in your hands, and I generally held the pod with 3 fingers as its too small to cup… No pun intended.
On The Wrist
The Uwell Amulet is really comfortable, very light and the strap is made from that nice soft squishy silicone or rubber. In fact, if you’ve owned an Apple Watch, it feels pretty much like that.
Even the size adjustment with the little metal stud is exactly the same as the Apple Watch.
I may have looked a bit silly this week, but I always have a Samsung Galaxy watch on my wrist, but I’ve had to add the Amulet pod watch to the other. After a while I almost forgot the Amulet was on my wrist, but I could always feel the Galaxy was there.
The straps are also removable via a very small slide button on the backs of the straps, so perhaps Uwell will be coming out with other colour options? We’ll see. But its handy to know they can be removed for cleaning etc.
So if you’re looking for a lightweight, comfortable watch. Regardless of the integrated Pod System, this is actually a nice option.
The Display
The Amulet has a very simple display. Everything is on the one screen, and is nice and bright. Not so good in direct sunlight but generally I haven’t had a problem. Could maybe do with being a little brighter but in general I was quite happy with it.
The time is in 24hrs (Military Time) which is a bit of a shame as it would have been nice to see a 12hr option, But nonetheless, the battery level, time, date, day and Coil resistance can all be seen easily on the screen.
The display itself is shown by pressing the side button or the touch-screen itself, and sleeps after 10-seconds. Whether you’re a lefty, or a righty you can use this watch thanks to the option of flipping the screen.
The screen is a massive fingerprint magnet, and is also easily scratched.
As much as I’ve tried to look after the Amulet (so I can take nice pictures of course) I’ve still managed to accumulate a high number of small scratches across the face of the screen.
So if you have a hands on job, you might find this watch isn’t quite durable enough for you.
But then again theres no harm in buying some kind of screen protector and cutting it to size.
How To Fill The Uwell Amulet Pod
- Remove the pod from the watch using the clicks button on the side.
2. Remove the tank from the pod
3. Lift up the silicon bung/cap.
4. Fill with your desired e-liquid.
5. Put it all back together in reverse order. Let the juice sit in the tank for 10 minutes before vaping!
How Does the Uwell Amulet Pod Watch Perform?
How to Operate
As this is a Draw-Activated system, the side button is simply there to turn the watch on and off, flip the screen and alter the time and date. Heres how to operate the Amulet.
- Turn On/Off – 5 clicks of the side button
- Flip Screen – Press and hold the side button for 4 seconds
- Alter the Time/Date – Click the side button 3 times.
Once you get into the Time/Date adjustment screen, the screen becomes a semi-touch screen.
In sunlight you can see 2 small circles on either side on the screen, so simply tap on the left side, or right side to change the flashing number up or down, then press the side button to scroll to the next number.
Once complete, click the side button 3 times and you’re back to the normal screen.
Airflow
Airflow is non adjustable, but its absolutely perfect in my opinion for a nice, tight mouth-to-lung vape. You could try and Direct To Lung this Pod, but I wouldn’t advise it. It’s too much hard work.
Read more about mouth to lung and direct to lung vaping here
If you prefer a tighter draw, place your fingers on either side of the tank section which will cover up the airflow and give you a tighter draw. Holding it with 2 fingers isn’t awkward or uncomfortable either, I just preferred the little airflow that it offers as it is.
The pod isn’t noisy or turbulent, its nice, smooth and quiet.
Flavour
During my testing, I was vaping on Twisted, by Vapable. It’s made up to 3mg and is a 70VG/30PG Mix. Its pretty much a Pineapple, orange and strawberry mix, a little sweet and one of my current favourites.
I was very surprised by the flavour with the Uwell Amulet. In a good way!
I think thats because the coil is literally just under the mouthpiece section. Even for a 1.6Ω coil I was impressed.
This pod definitely performs well with fruity vapes as I actually get more sweetness from the pod than I do other starter kits with more power that I’ve tested. It’s a lovely smooth, warm vape. Impressive.
Im not a fan of swapping e-liquids on the same coil and because this kit only came with one pod, I cant really comment on how it would cope with the sweeter, more desert like e-liquids. But the Amulet represents the flavour profile of my chosen e-liquid really well.
It’s not a mouth filling vape, but in comparison to other pod systems its very good.
Cloud
Looking at the figures, 10watts, 1.6Ω coil – you really wouldn’t expect much. But considering those details, its a nice little cloud you get from this pod. Slightly warm (And hot after a bit of chain vaping)
Battery Life
So I keep going back to the battery capacity, which on the face of it seems a little poor.
But in practice, if you’re going to be vaping on this during the usual breaks at work, you’ll find the battery will last all day no problem.
Of course once you put your foot on the gas and chain vape this thing, the battery will diminish and you’ll soon find you’re putting the pod on charge via the Micro USB port at the base of the pod.
And during my testing, the pod took a little over 1.5 hours to charge, which isn’t very good considering the battery size.
Coil Durability
Unfortunately the Uwell Amulet Pod System only comes with the one Pod, which is a shame and means once that coil packs in, it’s back to the shops for you to pick up another.
So I cant really comment on exactly how long a coil/pod will last – But I spent 8 days with the Amulet and the single pod it came with is still going strong.
I’d like to think the pod will last around 2 weeks with your typical day to day vaping. At the time of writing it looks like a 2-pack of the pods will set you back about £12-15.
Any Other Business
Theres a few minor things I need to mention.
You do get a build-up of vapour/condensation inside the pod housing on the watch, so be sure to clean this out every now and then. Also because the coil is situated directly below the mouthpiece, it gets pretty hot. It’s not going to burn your lips, but you definitely notice it after a while.
The draw-activation is very good, its very sensitive and always picked up every time I took a draw, and there doesn’t feel like theres much ramp-up, which is impressive considering the measly 10w power output.
And lastly, trying to see how much e-liquid is actually in the tank at any one time is a nightmare. The plastic is so dark, you can barely see what’s in there. There doesn’t seem to be anywhere for air to escape so all you can usually see is bubbles.
However, this thing doesn’t plough through e-liquid at all. In fact during my testing, I didn’t go through more than 2ml a day!
Pros:
- Nice simple display
- Very comfortable to wear
- Surprisingly good flavour
- Wicks great even with high VG e-liquids.
- Sips e-liquid
- Great Automatic Draw
- Battery lasts a day with average use
- Minimal ramp up time
Cons:
- Mouthpiece gets quite hot
- Charging time is slow
- Condensation build up within pod housing
- Really hard to see your e-liquid level
- Watch face is a finger print & Scratch magnet
- Only One Pod
- No option for 12hr Clock Display
Final Verdict
I hoped to high heaven that the Uwell Amulet Pod Watch wasn’t a silly gimmick, but a usable, comfortable watch which has the added bonus of being a stealthy vape whilst out and about. And thats exactly what it is.
It has its flaws of course – But for the first of its kind, it certainly setting the standard pretty high.
I actually really hope pod-watches take off and have some success – Its innovative and convenient and I’m really excited to see what the future holds for pod-watches if the Uwell Amulet Pod Watch is successful.
There’s a number of features that I look at when trying out a device, and for something to score highly, it needs to meet certain demands.
‘Would the Amulet be long lasting and still work 3, 6 or even 12 months from now?’
I have my concerns over the battery capacity long term, and the durability of the screen as its already plastered with minor scratches. But the pods are very tough and has lasted well.
With a little bit of care, this device should last well for a year no problem.
Does the Amulet deliver the flavour, vapour and general experience I require, in order to be enjoyed?
It’s a satisfying vape. Even for a new vaper I really think they will enjoy using this kit.
Is the Amulet pod versatile enough to suit a new vaper, and an experienced one alike?
I think the Amulet is a perfect compliment to any vapes artillery, and for a new vaper its simple to use. Easy to fill and kills 2 birds with one stone. An excellent choice.
Did you buy the Uwell Amulet Pod Watch System? Would love to hear your thoughts in the comments below!
Is it possible to clean the pod, as my first one does not draw anymore, have to vape really hard to get it to work
Its a great device but within days or maby a week of having the thing the back of the vape where you charge it right below that a piece breaks off and iv had 3 and its happened on all three and that piece that breaks off, keeps the vape in place and without that piece theres no use of the botten, u can just pull the vape off and the vape dosent go in all the way and it could easyly fall off if some one slides up against you and you dont notice it fall off. Then theres no use for the wrist part either… Lol but its cool i think its great it hits pritty.
I have bought one today love it I’m a heavy vaper normally 4 or 5 refills a day I have refilled this 2 times I use the zeuz juice black reloaded and it works perfectly I have not had to charge it as of yet and I soon will be looking for one with more features. Won’t be long before someone integrates one into a watch like an Apple watch text call and vape from the same device will be cool can see these being hugely popular soon.
i bought it a couple days ago. idk if my amulet is damaged or what but i used it until it showed low battery and when i tried to charge it, there are nothing on the display. i thought the display would eventually show up but it has been an hour since i charged it and still nothing come to display. quite disappointed coz i have a uwell caliburn and im quite satisfied with it
I have also too, how back display arloji :(?
Nice pod and nice review 👍👍👍
I think that it is interesting but just hope it works
I had a toot of my friends Amulets tonight – the one with a Heizen type e-liquid was amazing – really flavourful – the other with the Mango didn’t shine as well but still plenty of flavour I was very surprised – tempted with one myself now! But just bought a Drag Nano so I cant justify another purchase hehehe!
My second day using it and suprisingly the battery last longer than I’ve expected. Good flavouring compare to some of the pods I’ve tried. So far I’m satisfied with the performance. Just that I hope uwell will came out with amulet own screen protector soon. Cheers!
Glad you’re getting on well with it Leanan. I was very impressed considering its the first of its kind. Fingers crossed for a screen protector. Many thanks.
Hi Gaz.
Excellent review yet again. I have been following a number of you ladies and gentlemen and I think it’s time I get on board and start putting my tuppence worth towards this review.
I have been keeping my eye on this for a while, and I do agree with Kevin, it is a bit of a fad, but I bought this out of curiosity. I was lucky enough to order one from a Scottish Based company in the UK called Alba Vaping and I have went back tonight to check and it seems they have sold out.
I have also seen recently that RiP Trippers have released a pretty positive review as well…
It’ll be interesting how this one goes and if anything will, at all, will evolve as a result.
I’ve just seen someone on Facebook who really wants to get this lol, personally I think its just a gimmick I can imagine how many times a day I’d have to 1, fill it 2, charge it lol – good preview Shell.
