The ThunderHead Creations Elite Pro / Lite MTL RTA is the latest release by this quiet but well respected vape brand.
Most people will have heard of the companies “Tauren” branding which includes the Tauren BF RDTA, Tauren Solo RDA, Tauren MTL RTA, Tauren X-Pod and even a Mech mod – the Tauren Max Mod.
What To Expect From The ThunderHead Creations Elite Pro / Lite MTL RTA?
There are two versions of this the Elite Pro and the Elite Lite. From what I can tell the two have different kit contents – the Pro version having all the accessories and the Lite version sticking to just the basics.
As you can tell this RTA is designed for MTL (Mouth To Lung) vapers which require higher resistance coils, more precise and tighter airflow and generally are used with thinner e-liquids. We tell you more in our Guide To Vape Styles.
To achieve the required airflow there are inlet and outlet adjustments.
The airflow comes in through the bottom inlets which have a rotating control to restrict or open the airflow to your preference.
This air then travels to the centre of the deck and exits through the airflow outlet under the coil.
The outlet is an insert which comes in various different sizes and configurations from 2mm to 0.8mm single holes and a multiple hole version too. The Pro kit includes all the inserts plus a 510 base for building the deck on.
Talking of the deck this is designed for a single coil with 2 posts which looks pretty simple to build.
Capacity wise there are some variables too – the tank comes with a metal tank section (armour) with a small PC window (to make it less likely to damage), or there are also 2ml and 4ml glass options too. Which tank section you get depends on the kit you buy and also whether you are purchasing in a TPD regulated area.
This uses a 510 drip tip and the Pro kit includes a standard 510 tip and a longer one too. Generally the longer drip tips give a cooler vape and are often found on the Digiflavor Siren GTA tanks.
A screw off top cap gives access to the top fill port.
