TABLites Performance Option
Our first TABLites review was for their mini e cigarette offering and it was a good product overall so we were also excited to have the opportunity to review their vape pen kit, the Cyclone EGO-C.
An e cig that is targeted towards experienced e cig users that are not concerned about using a ‘cig-a-like’ e cigarette and are more concerned about the battery life and the customisable nature of the EGO.
That is not to say there aren’t benefits to using the Cyclone alongside a cig-a-like, quite the opposite, I for one use mini e cigarettes when out and about and bigger EGO devices when at home.
Anyway, lets get onto the review and to let you know, this was received free of charge but as always I will be completely honest with my opinions. To buy this starter kit will set you back £49.99.
Packaging
The TABLites Cyclone comes in a slick looking black presentation box and includes the following:
2 650 mAh Manual Batteries
5 Replacement atomisers
5 Tank Cartridges
30ml Bottle of E-Liquid
USB Charger
Battery/Responsiveness
The two manual batteries that come with the Cyclone are a 650 mAh capacity and although a lot bigger than your mini e cig, they will provide a lot more power allowing for longer vaping times between charges.
With my moderate vaping I can have one of these batteries last me the better part of a day before needing to re-charge. The good thing is there are two of these batteries so you should never (as long as you always keep one charged) be without your e cigarette.
The actual finish of the batteries are good with a nice rubberised finish that provides a nice feel in the hand, the branding is also tastefully done. On pressing the button the battery reacts well and on taking a drag helps provide a smooth draw.
Straight out of the box you will need to ‘unlock’ the battery, there is a function that allows you to turn the battery on and off to both preserve the life as well as prevent any unwanted activation when in the your pocket or bag. To turn the battery on simply press the button on the side 5 times in quick succession and you are ready to go. If you want to turn it off just repeat this step.
Setting up the e cigarette may seem a bit fiddly at first especially if you haven’t had to replace your own atomisers before.
All that needs to be done is to take the cone head, which is made up of two parts, and unscrew the silver base from the black cone.
Out of the box I found this difficult at first as it was screwed on quite tight and I couldn’t get the grip needed to separate them, the best way to go about this is to screw the complete cone onto the e cig battery, then hold the e cig and base of the cone (the steel bit) and unscrew the actual cone (the black bit).
Once they are separate take one of the atomisers and push into the base until it feels secure then screw the cover back on.
Sounds like a lot of messing but it really only takes 30 seconds!
The next step is to fill one of the blank cartridges with e-liquid and you are ready to go.
Overall – The battery performed well, as expected. If this is a first using this type of device where you can replace the atomiser it may be a bit fiddly but you will soon get the hang of it.
Vapour/Flavour
I received 4 different e-liquid flavours from TABLites, tobacco 24mg, strawberry 16mg, banana 16mg and vanilla 16mg.
I have tried and liked the cartomiser flavours from TAB Lites as reported in my previous review of their mini e cigarette and this definitely carried over into the bottled e-liquid on all apart from one.
The vanilla flavour just didn’t work for me but the banana, which was surprisingly nice and the strawberry were both good.
The tobacco flavour I enjoyed in cartomiser form and this would have been the same but the 24mg strength was in the end far too strong for me and prevented me having a good vape of it.
This doesn’t mean it won’t be right for some but 16mg nicotine is about my max! They also use a PG/VG mix which is good as you get a nice amount of vapour.
The e-liquid is only sold in 30ml bottles on their website and at a cost of £9.99 is a competitive price. I like the fact they have a large selection of flavours available which can be great for experimenting but the downside is every time you want to try a flavour you have to spend a tenner.
Not so bad if you like the e-liquid but not so great if you don’t. Would be nice to see some tester packs maybe with 5ml bottles to allow us to try a wider selection with less risk to the bank balance.
Using the Cyclone EGO C with tank cartridges
The kit comes with 5 blank tank cartridges that each hold about .85ml of e-liquid. These are standard tank sizes for this model of electronic cigarette and are pretty small. If you vape heavily you may find yourself refilling more often than you would like.
Once the cartridge is filled about 3/4 with liquid it’s just a case of pushing it into the cone until you hear a click where the cartridge has connected with the atomiser. It might take a minute or two for the atomiser to properly draw in the juice but once it does you get a nice draw that provides a good amount of vapour.
Using the Cyclone EGO C with a 3ml Dual Coil Tank
The Dual Coil Tank or DCT doesn’t come with this kit as standard but is available to buy from TABLites separately for £9.99.
If you are considering the Cyclone I would highly recommend you buy one of these to use instead of using the tank cartridges exclusively, whilst the tanks do the job their capacity is limited.
The DCT allows for upto 3ml of liquid so you will have a longer period of uninterrupted vaping, not only this but it once the juice is soaked into the atomiser (inside the tank) you get a great draw every time. Yeah the DCT is a big thing when it’s connected to the battery but in my opinion worth it.
Overall – Flavours are good as is the vapour volume, no problems here. I would however recommend purchasing either the 3ml DCT or the Vivi Nova available as an extra.

Overall
On a whole the Cyclone EGO-C electronic cigarette is a good product but one that is targeted towards the experienced vaper. I guess if you were using their mini e cig then this would be the next step up so to speak.
Although I enjoyed the vape and the product is good I still prefer the likes of the JAC Vapour S17 and the Innokin Endura T18II as performance e cigs go.
TABLites Cyclone E Cig Review Verdict:
The TAB Lites Cyclone is a decent option but no the best available
Upon purchase I instantly loved this product. However all cartomizers/atomisers began leaking in my pocket, or desk, or wherever, pretty soon. The taste of vape is awesome and I really enjoyed except for leaks.
I purchased a dual coil Iclear 16 on line for a fiver. Man, no leaks, real big taste etc. and no leaks. Did I say no leaks?!
I had one unit with a cart system and one Iclear setup. Guess which one leaked, shorted the battery and caused it to activate then pop off? That’s right, cartomizer. Currently in talks with tablites about returning as its in warranty.
