The SX Mini SL Pure Mod is a new addition featuring the new “Pure” technology.
The Pure tech can also be found in the Vi Rod and the Vi Class Pod kit and really impressed our Neil C!
What To Expect From The SX Mini SL Pure Mod
Sadly the SX Mini website is pretty poor when it comes to showing off their products.
So I do apologise for the lack of images in this post! Plus no vendors seem to be listing this item either and the SX Mini social media has nothing.
However I did download the User Manual to get a bit more info…
If the “Pure” technology has you scratching your head I quote from Neil’s Vi Class review…
“‘Pure’ mode is really a standalone function.”
“It works very much like temperature control mode. The chip detects when the cartridge has run out of E-liquid by sensing the temperature of the coil.
It then reduces power to the battery which in turn prevents cotton overheating and scorching – known in vaping as a dry hit.”
So in summary it helps to prevent dry hits.

The YiHi SX733J chip also provides Variable Wattage, Variable Voltage, Temperature Control, SXi-EQ (Custom Curves) and “Taste” modes to play with.
The output is specified as 5-100W but I think that will depend upon the battery installed.
Talking of batteries, this is able to use a single 21700, 20700 or 18650.
A 1A USB Type C port is provided for charging if required.
All of your vaping data is viewable on the 0.96in IPS Colour screen.
A standard 510 connection is housed on the top of the mod so you can swap tanks and rebuildables. However I am not sure if the Pure mode will work with coils of other materials or from other manufacturers.
There is a mention of a tank being included in the kit. According to the instruction manual it is the Hatsu tank and appears to be compatible with the VT Coils used in the Vi Rod and the Vi Tank. But other than it being 24x40mm there are no other details about it!
There are 7 colours to choose from: Mystic Grey, Holy Silver, Gunmetal Tang, Fire Red, Copper Brown, Black Tang and Black Silver.

It would be nice to have more info – especially about the tank!
But SX Mini fans should enjoy the new Pure mode tech – hopefully as much as our Neil did!
