So Suorin are back with a new release – the Suorin Shine pod kit.
We have had some lovely kits from Suorin in the past including the Air Plus, Edge and the Vagon.
What Is New On The Suorin Shine Kit?
Suorin seem to have been early developers in the pod mod market – their devices the Suorin Air and Suorin Drop were about from 2017 – well before the current pod mod trend.
So will the Shine continue their pod expertise?
This is a pretty basic pod kit with a couple of nice features.
An internal battery is provided with a 700mAh capacity and apparently can be charged in 40 mins at a 700mA charge rate.
Plus there are two output power options which depend on how you use the device:
- Press the fire button – this enables the “full output” power mode. Basically the full output of the battery is sent to the coil. This will be higher output at full charge but will diminish as the battery charge drops.
- Automatic inhale – simply inhale on the mouthpiece and a constant output mode is activated. This may be slightly lower power but the bonus is this output will not drop as the battery charge reduces. If the device cannot output the required power it will not fire.
A coloured LED indicates the battery charge remaining – Red (Less than 30% charge left), Blue (30-70%) and Green (more than 70% remaining.)
Apparently this device uses a “Microphone” to trigger the inhale firing? I am not sure as to what or how this works – I can only assume the airflow rushing past the sensor as you inhale tells the device to fire? Seems a bit strange!
Moving on to the pod part now – this is refillable with up to 2ml of your own e-liquid.
The coil is fixed into the pod – meaning when the coil life has expired you will discard the pod and replace with a new one.
The coil is a standard 1ohm wire coil wicked with organic cotton.
There are 8 colours to choose from: Black, Space Grey, Silver, Red, Diamond Blue, Gold, Teal Blue and Mint Green.
