Vape starter kits seem to be coming thick and fast this summer and the SMOK Stick G15 is yet another.
This one’s about as basic as it gets – another case of filling up and vaping.
It’s draw activated and there’s nothing to befuddle anyone wanting to make the switch from lit tobacco to vaping.
SMOK is probably one, if not the most famous of the vape companies.
I’d be here all day listing its popular vape products, the iconic SMOK Alien mod certainly put them on the map, there’s a seemingly never ending range of TFV tanks, and of course they really have embraced the pod mod world with the SMOK RPM Lite very popular indeed.

What Can We Expect From the SMOK Stick G15?
I seem to be using the word ‘simple‘ a lot lately lol.
And that’s certainly the case with most draw activated vape kits.
There’s no fannying around with menus, wattage, or buttons – simply fill ‘n vape.
The pods are refillable, however the coils are sealed, so again no messing about.
I’m looking for a tight draw – this is after all an MTL kit, and of course good flavour.
As to if we get that, we shall see.
The SMOK Stick G15 kit was sent to me by the lovely people at Vape Club – thank you – and as always my thoughts and opinions are not swayed by freebies.

Key Features
This really is an old school pen style vape kit with no menu or buttons – another dead easy to use fill ‘n vape starter kit – good to see.
The 2ml capacity pods have sealed coils – no swapping out – and are 0.8ohm.
SMOK is pushing this as an ideal starter kit for brand new vapers as they say the SMOK Stick G15 mimics the same feeling as a lit cigarette.
We shall of course be looking at the draw, and given it’s an MTL device I’m hoping it’s on the tight side.
The internal battery is a generous 700mAh and with a max 15w, we can expect this one to last a while between charges.
Available colours: Black – Blue – Grey – Purple – Red – Silver and 7-Color.
Design and Build Quality
The aluminum alloy means it’s very lightweight indeed but certainly doesn’t feel flimsy in the hand.
I always say there’s not a lot you can do with the overall design of a pen style vape kit, however the SMOK Stick G15 does have a few curves to it.
I’d go as far to say as it looks really smart – I received the grey version and it has a brushed effect going on too.
SMOK describes it as:
…an advanced sandblasting oxidation process…
And yeah it certainly feels good and stops those annoying fingerprints…grippy too.
The logos – in particular the regulatory marks – are a little busy maybe, but no biggie.
The pods snap in and out nicely and there’s absolutely been no rattle or connection issues whilst jostled about in my rucksack.
Filling is pretty straightforward too and the bung seems solid enough with no leakage and minimal condensation.
SMOK Stick G15 LED Lights
- Flashing white – time to charge
- Red – below 30% battery
- Orange – between 30/70%
- Green – above 70%
How Does the SMOK Stick G15 Perform?
It’s been a while since I reviewed or used a SMOK product so I was interested to see what the flavour was like off the coils.
I’ve had a good look around but can’t find out if they’re mesh…
What I can say is the flavour is actually pretty good – not amazing and the coils certainly need a couple of fills to break in – but decent enough.
Given there’s x2 pods I was able to try both nic salt [IVG Crushed Frozen Cherries] and a 50/50 PG/VG mix and both wicked very well.
The tinted pod is obviously dark, but held up in sunlight and you can see your vape juice levels no bother – even with my aged eyesight.
SMOK Stick G15 – A Proper MTL?
As I’ve already mentioned, SMOK reckon this mimics the draw from a lit cigarette.
It’s been a while, but I seem to remember them being rather tight.
The SMOK Stick G15 is most definitely that!
I’ve really had to work at getting a draw, so on a scale of 10 being the tightest, I’d put this at a decent 9.
So yeah, it’s definitely a proper MTL draw…good stuff.
Pros
- Decent flavour and vapour
- Good battery life
- Coils seem to last an age!
- Dead simple to use
- Easy fill
- Leak free [so far]
- Competitive price
Cons
- None I can find…
Final Review Verdict
It’s good to see the big vape companies remembering their roots.
Vaping is after all meant to help smokers quit.
The more choices they have the better chance they will be able to quit.
The SMOK Stick G15 is most definitely a starter kit I’d recommend to a smoker.
The draw is tight enough, the flavour, whilst not amazing, is good, but it’s the simplicity that’s key for me.
Dead easy to fill and operate means even the most technically challenged will have no issues whatsoever.
It actually looks elegantly simple too.
