The Smok RHA 85 kit is apparently a “New” release from the confusing vape brand Smok.
I swear I am in “Groundhog Day” – as I recently wrote a preview for the Smok RHA 220W which is basically the Smok Alien mod.
Now I see the RHA 85 and again it is an old kit – this time the AL85! The only new thing I can see is the introduction of a rainbow version?
So this is an 85W maximum output mod and you will need a single 18650 battery which screws into a compartment on the top of the mod with a cap to secure.
There are 3 power modes – Variable Wattage, Temperature Control and Memory modes. Plus you get taste modes of Hard, Norm and Soft.
Included in the kit version is the TFV8 Baby tank – which again isn’t the newest version of this – there is a TFV8 Baby V2 in the recent Smok Species kit.
There are 5 colours to choose from – Black/Red, Black/Gun Metal, Prism Chrome/Black, Black/Gold and 7-Colour/Black.

I am so so baffled as to why Smok are renaming old kits?
Is it to meet certain regulations so they can be sold worldwide or something – if that is the case then I totally understand.
Smok is regularly criticised for the speed of releasing kits and how they keep “rehashing” the same old designs – and the RHA 85 and RHA 220W really are not doing their reputation any favours.
If you are an AL85 fan and want a new one then this would be ideal.
Anyway let me know what you think about the Smok RHA 85 Kit in the comments below!
Just got my new RHA85 mod, it is 100% identical to my al85 mod, I have had 4 al85 mods, and this is completely the same. Even the owners manual is exactly the same with just the letters in the mod name changed. I don’t know why Smok did this, but I have seen where the RHA85 is listed as an EU version, whatever that means. Seems silly to me. None of them last very long, so doesn’t matter what it’s called to me, I just wish they’d make them a little more durable. My top and bottom screws on the mod always strip out and then it doesn’t work.
Hmm I did hear a rumour that there was something to do with Smok using the “Alien” name – hence later models being re-branded to the RHA?
Dont quote me on that but seems to make sense!
I just smashed the glass on my Smok Prince Stick here at work and have been puffing on my friends RHA85, its lovely!
