This time I’m going to be taking a look at the R-Kiss 2 kit from Smok, a powerful traditional style 200w box mod that has been paired with the TFV18 mini tank.
Smok is a prolific China based e-cigarette manufacturer; they really need no introduction to the wider vaping community! They have a really impressive back catalogue of devices!
Some of Smoks product list include Fortis Kit, Arcfox Kit, Morph 2, Nord 50W Kit, Thallo S and the original R-Kiss Kit.
They have released the R-Kiss 2 Kit in 6 colours.
What Can We Expect From the Smok R-Kiss 2 Kit?
Smok have finally gotten around to releasing the 2nd edition of the R-Kiss, pairing it with the TFV18 Mini Tank or if purchased in the EU the TFV-Mini V2 Tank!
The R-Kiss 2 is a dual 18650 battery mod with up to 200w output power; the chipset inside is the IQS giving the device a stable reliable performance! The device has a nice large colour screen and a large lateral fire bar perfect for those with disabilities.
This product was sent directly by Smok for the purpose of review.
As always my thoughts and views are my own after considerable testing period.

Design and Build Quality
I’ve got to say when I first opened the kit I was hit with a sense of the wow factor and to a smaller extent the feeling of nostalgia for the earlier days of vaping; to me this is a proper box mod, regardless of what you use as a topper!
The size and weight are fabulous and while personally I’m not a big fan of Smok tanks (too thirsty) you can’t argue with the results of the TFV18 mini, this is a well-designed kit that has a great quality to it!
Smok R-Kiss 2 – Kit Overview
Smok have presented the R-Kiss 2 nicely in a card box with a paper over sleeve!
I was sent the standard silver version of the kit; hence my review is based on this!
The R-Kiss 2 mod measures in at 84mm tall, and will take tanks with diameters up to 30mm; the TFV18 mini has a diameter of 28mm and is 54mm in height, and is pre-installed with the V18 mini mesh 0.33Ω coil.
For extras Smok have included an extra 6.5ml bubble glass, V18 mini dual mesh 0.15Ω coil, a baggy of O Rings and a type C charge cable.
I won’t be going into great detail with the TFV18 mini as I have already covered it within my Smok Fortis review, I will say however the tank has tri airflow and comes with a sleeve mouth piece it breaks down to 5 parts including the coil for easy cleaning!
Smok R-Kiss 2 Mod
From the top the R-Kiss 2 has a well turned 510 threaded connection plate, with a spring loaded gold plated pin.
This device has a covering of scratch resistant silicone paint, it reminds me very much of the covering on the Vaporesso Gen S kit it has that same soft feel to it!
The advertising on the rear says “R-Kiss 2” and above the screen is the word “Smok”.
The workface of the device has a large 1.3in TFT colour screen and includes all the info you would normally expect to see; the fonts are easily large enough to be read at a glance!
The two adjustment buttons are plastic but have a nice click to them; you will also see a 2amp type C USB charge port.
Smok R-Kiss 2 sides
On the left side of the mod is a large lateral fire bar, which is especially welcome to those of us that have dexterity issues, the right side is plain and covered with the silicone paint, both sides have bevelled edges making the device comfortable to hold in the hand for extended periods!
Smok R-Kiss 2 Battery Door and Compartment
Love or hate the battery door it is what it is – a slide out flip up door, while at present the door has no wiggle to it, in my experience this type of door can get loose from use!
The door has the normal safety symbols printed on it as well as designed by Smok.
Opening the door you will see the normal gold plated contact points with B and A and the – + symbols highlighted in white, the plastic 18650 battery compartment has been lined by inserted plastic sleeves and if you look into the compartment you will see the normal red + and blue – symbols for battery orientation, the gold plated contacts inside are spring loaded.
So How Does the Smok R-Kiss 2 Perform?
In this review I will be using the pre-installed V18 Mini Mesh 0.33Ω coil to start with then swapping it out for the V18 Mini Dual Mesh 0.15Ω coil within the TFV18 Mini, as a liquid I will use be using “KwikVape Lime Slushie”.
How to prepare the TFV18 Mini for use! A Basic guide
Choose which coil you want to use.
- Pre-soak the coil with a few drops of liquid and screw into the base
- Screw the coil and base into place to reassemble the tank.
- Fill with your desired liquid and leave for 2 or 3 minutes so the cotton can soak up more liquid.
Preparing the Smok R-Kiss 2 for use
Place 2 18650 batteries into the mod following the battery guides.
Screw the TFV18 mini on to the device, and enjoy a nice cloudy vape!
R-Kiss 2 Menu system
- To turn the device on and off click the fire bar 5 times
This mod has a very simple menu system!
A quick 3 presses of the fire bar, the options shown are…
- Watt Mode (Variable Wattage)
- Bypass Mode
- Power Locked – which will lock all settings so you can’t fire or adjust the device; to unlock the device again press the fire bar 3 times.
- To lock/ unlock just the keys press both adjustment keys together.
- Up adjustment button and fire bar together will allow you to change the screen colour.
- Pressing the down adjustment button and fire bar together will clear the puff counter.
The R-Kiss 2 has a host of safety features including 8 sec cut off, short circuit and over discharge protection.
Smok R-Kiss 2 Kit in use
I personally found the R-Kiss 2 mod a delight to use as I suffer from arthritis, and the screen and font size are great and very easy to read.
TFV18 Mini
While I consider the TFV range of tanks very thirsty, with the 6.5ml bubble glass that thirst isn’t quite as noticeable – in other words I’m not filling it up every 5 minutes lol.
I received a constant and tasty vape that was very cloudy!
In wattage mode I tested the 0.33Ω coil at 90 to 120w and the 0.15Ω at 85 to 100w.
The airflow is a little on the noisy side wide open and is incredibly airy, while I can get away with 85 and 90W on the lower side, the tank feels as though its constantly wanting to stretch its feet and go to even higher wattages!
Bypass Mode
Basically bypass mode takes the power directly from the batteries – I want to add a word of caution here or you could burn out your coils, my estimate with full or newly charged batteries is the mod will fire at near to or at the full 200w of the device!
I tried this mode only once with the Hellvape Dead Rabbit V3 RDA and felt like I had burnt my tongue lol.
Pros
- Good quality kit
- Nicely designed kit
- A stable reliable performance
- TFV18 mini had thick vapour production with good flavour
Cons
- The TFV18 mini airflow is very airy and quite noisy
- Sleeve mouth piece
- Bypass mode runs very hot at least for me lol
Final Review Verdict
I am very impressed by the vapour production that the TFV18 mini can produce along with the consistent flavour!
I was more than a little put off when testing the kit in bypass mode due to the sheer power pushed through the coils!
The mod looks and functions great if you’re after a lot of vapour and a hot vape the R-Kiss 2 can handle the power.
I would class this kit as an experienced cloud chasers kit.
Would I recommend the Smok R-Kiss 2 Kit?
I would like to say I’d recommend this kit! However the R-Kiss 2 kit is not going to be for everyone; hence I would never recommend this pairing to inexperienced vapers at least not with the included TFV18 Mini.
Would I buy this kit again due loss or damage?
I could see myself buying this kit again as I like the feel and weight of the device however I think I’d leave the tank in the box!
