The Sigelei 100w+ designed and manufactured by Sigelei based in Shenzen, China. Sigelei are a company that specialise in a large range of e-cigarette products and their desire is to offer high quality at a good price.

The 100w+ is a upgrade of their 100w box mod that was previously released.

What has changed with the Sigelei 100W +?

There are a few changes in the 100w+ compared to the 100w. Firstly the casing itself has been altered, the previous version had very hard edges that many users felt caused discomfort. These corners have been completely rounded off.

The 510 pin is now spring loaded unlike the old version that required manual adjustment.

The battery cover no longer has screw holes and has been switched to very strong magnets, two at the top and two at the bottom. Completely dispensing with the need for a screwdriver, changing batteries is now quick and easy.

Including a silicone sleeve with the product adds an additional layer of user security knowing that your device will be well protected.

Aesthetics and Usage:

This is a very solid device and you can see its very well constructed. The device is weighty, not uncomfortably so but it will feel strange for a period of time to anyone who is used to smaller and lighter devices. The buttons are solid and have just the right amount of click to them.

The battery compartment is easily accessed and the magnets are excellent. Such is the strength of the magnets that you simply have to align the lid and it snaps into place.

The LCD screen is bright and clear, well laid out and shows all the relevant information from current wattage to coil resistance, current voltage and remaining battery life. Being outside in bright sunshine does make it difficult to see clearly but then many other mods have the same issue.

When you fire the device the LCD display glows brighter before returning to a slightly dimmer level. The display will also switch itself off after sixty seconds to help preserve battery life. It is important to note that the device is still switched on, so be mindful.

The LCD screen initially worried me because I was concerned that it was scratched, clearly I was wrong because there is a tiny film on top of the LCD display to protect it. This can be easily peeled off but its certainly well worth preserving for as long as possible.

Using this device is extremely simple.

• Five clicks switches the device on and five clicks switches it off.
• The device powers up very quickly and after a short period where the LCD shows the Sigelei logo it is ready to be used within three seconds.
• The plus and minus buttons control your wattage setting, clicking them one at a time increases or decreases power by 0.1 watts.
• Holding the buttons will lead to the wattage rapidly adjusting, perhaps in my honest opinion a little too rapidly so be extremely careful since it is quite easy to ramp up the watts.
• Finally the device can also be locked by holding the plus and minus buttons down together. To unlock, simply hold both buttons again.

I suppose I should mention the two silver wavy lines that the device has on one side of the casing. It tends to be something of a sore point for some people that take an instant dislike to it.

In some respects I can understand their point of view because aesthetically it would probably have been better to not have them. On the other hand they do work with the silver trimmed edges of the device and at the end of the day if you really dislike it so much why concern yourself when the silicone cover hides all.

I find I am quite indifferent to them.

Personal thoughts

I honestly cannot fault this device for its construction or its performance. The device consistently performs well whether you are using a tank such as the Aspire Nautilus 2s or a Sub Ohm tank such as the Kanger Subtank Mini.

All RTA’s and RDA’s I own fit this device and work wonderfully.

You have the satisfaction of knowing that with this mod if you keep using it at any wattage you will get a consistent vape until your batteries run out. Even when those batteries do run out you know you can just pop them on the charger and put a new pair in and be ready to go in no time at all.

Battery life is excellent, if I chain vape which I’m afraid to say has been known then I can get a full day out of this device running at 45w for a 0.4 ohm build in a RDA. Running something like a Subtank Mini at 25w and not chain vaping I can look at somewhere between one and a half to two days.

I suppose the one thing you could consider as a negative is that you will need a good quality battery charger as well as one or more sets of batteries. It is important with this kind of device to match up a new pair of batteries and rotate the position they occupy in the charger after use.

So for example Battery A which is in the positive slot when the battery runs out should go into the second slot on your charger. This way the batteries are continually rotated and you are not putting unnecessary wear on one of them. In a nutshell the battery that was in the devices positive slot last time should be in the negative slot next time and vice versa. Hope that made sense.

I cannot stress how important it is to use good batteries when vaping, so get yourself either some Sony VTC4’s or a couple of Samsung 25Rs, be safe.

The threading on the 510 connection is excellent and I have had no issues at all with screwing on any device. The old 100w version had problems with the adjustable screws that tended to strip but there are none of those issues with the Plus version.

While the device offers a range of 10w-100w there are people who are going to ask why on earth you would ever need 100w. The truth of the matter is you don’t, its just an option.

Generally I tend to vape between 25-60w but that is dependent on what I am using on this device. I will tend to run a RDA higher with a sub ohm build because that’s simply what I happen to like.

For something like a Subtank Mini, 25w suits me fine. Due to the battery life being so good you have the option to use whatever wattage you want within reason and know that its not suddenly going to power down on you, plus even if it does you can always carry spare batteries.

I think the price is very reasonable considering the quality you are getting for your money.

Final Thoughts

A top quality vape mod, well machined and highly durable. While slightly more weighty than other devices this offers extremely long battery life for consistent vaping. Having the ability to go from 10-100w offers a great deal of flexibility for the user.

I originally bought this device because I had just recently got into the whole iStick craze that was going on and I found that while I enjoyed the iStick a great deal I was running the battery life down very fast with my chain vaping.

I did consider the iStick 50w but due to a supply shortage I decided to buy the Sigelei and I am so glad that I did because its a superb device and hasn’t let me down once.

Ironically the plan was to take my iStick with me when I take trips into the city yet strangely enough I tend to grab the Sigelei at every opportunity. Despite its more bulky profile its not overly heavy and its easily carried around in a deep jacket pocket.

Frankly I can never put the Sigelei down and its my go to device.

Pros:

• 10w-100w offers good flexibility for users

Cons:

• A little bulky in the hand, not discrete
• Wattage adjustment is a little too rapid
• No options to save wattage presets
• Requires external batteries and charger. Not a con just the nature of the device.
• Has two wavy lines that may offend you. Not really a con either.
