From the successful Sense stable is another atomizer bearing the fabled Herakles name. However, instead of a sub ohm clearomizer tank the Sense Herakles RTA2 is a full rebuildable tank atomizer.
The Herakles RTA 2 comes complete with a 25mm diameter, two post deck, juice flow control, top filling and plenty of airflow options to match as well.
There’s a large 6ml capacity, which means less refilling during use, and top filling means it’s quick and easy to refill when you run out of juice.
Sense are one of my favourite manufacturers within the industry, as each one of their products I’ve tried hasn’t let me down. They have offered some of the best performing tanks on the market.
With the original Sense Herakles being one of my all time favourite tanks, I was very excited to get my hands on the RTA version!
Let’s see whether my excitement was justified…

Build Quality and Design
Sense tanks have always been very well made and the Sense Herakles RTA2 is robustly constructed.
Threading on the tank is very smooth, and removing the top cap to refill is very easy, with large filling ports at your disposal.
There’s a 10mm wide bore drip tip installed as standard, however, if this isn’t to your tastes then Sense have thoughtfully included a 510 drip tip adaptor so that you can use other drip tips.
Along with this, a replacement glass tank section if you manage to break the original.
If you need to strip down and clean the Sense Herakles, all parts come away smoothly thanks to the super smooth threading.
The Herakles RTA2 is top filling, and this is also backed up with juice flow control. By rotating this you can open up and close down the huge juice flow holes, which also comes in handy when it comes to wicking different ratios of juice.

The Herakles logo on the chimney looks pretty awesome as well!
Sense Herakles RTA2 Build Deck
The Sense Herakles RTA2 is the latest in a long line of two post rebuildable tanks, and with the diameter of the tank being 25mm, you have a whole lot of room to build on.
There are two post holes drilled into either side of the posts, with plenty of space to fit your coil legs into, and the hex screws trap down your coil legs perfectly.
There is a large airflow slot at either side of the deck, and positioning your coil over this will bring maximum performance.
There are two massive cutaways at either end of the deck, and you simply drop your wick down into these, making sure there are no gaps otherwise you will get leaks.
It is dual coil only, however it is really quick and simple to build on!
Sense Herakles RTA2 Airflow
At a glance, the airflow holes on the Sense Herakles might look small compared to a lot of other tanks out there, but don’t let that fool you as the Sense Herakles is capable of some serious cloud output if you want it too.
There’s a very airy, wide open draw with all airflow slots open, but you can close these down to further intensify the flavour if you so wish.
How Does The Sense Herakles RTA 2 Perform?
I’ll cut right to the chase and say this is one outstanding tank when it comes to performance.
The flavour is quite simply fantastic and this beats many other similar two post tanks.
This provides flavour that can match with many RDA’s, it really is something stellar.
Complex juices work so well with this tank, as individual flavour notes can be picked out easily, and it delivers a smooth and rich experience.
This is a level above most other RTA’s in its class, and flavour chasers will be all over this.
Cloud production is pretty phenomenal. If you like to chase clouds, you will love the Sense Herakles RTA2. It’s got bags of airflow, and a really loose draw when wide open, and it really does love to chuck the clouds.
Loading this tank up with high VG juice makes for one hell of a cloudy experience!
Wicking is another massive plus point of the Sense Herakles RTA2. As long as the tank is wicked correctly and the juice flow is open, this wicks absolutely anything, and allows you to crank up the power without fear of dry hits creeping in!
What I Liked
The performance of this tank really took me aback. Dripper level flavour, dripper level clouds, all wrapped up in an RTA package.
The build deck is huge and easy to build on. It may be aimed at dual coil builds, but beginners can pick this up very quickly and get to grips with it.
Top filling is easy to use, and on the whole, this is a really well constructed tank. It doesn’t feel flimsy at all, and threading is buttery smooth.
There are loads of airflow options. The airflow control ring is a dream to use and very smooth, and you can finely adjust your airflow.
What I Didn’t Like
Not much to be honest!
There were a couple of very minor niggles, such as a small bit of leaking after rewicking and refilling occasionally, the tank gets a little on the warm side when putting more than 60w through it, and the 25mm width isn’t going to be to everyone’s tastes.
These really are minor issues, though.
Final Sense Herakles RTA 2 Review Verdict
My first experience with a Sense atomizer was with the original Herakles sub ohm tank, which to this day is still one of my favourite tanks and one I still rate as one of the best sub ohm tanks available.
Subsequent Sense tanks haven’t let me down either, and the Herakles RTA2 may very well be my new favourite one from the bunch.
The flavour is just truly sensational, competing with a lot of rebuildable dripping atomizers, and it also competes with RDA’s on the vapour front as well, with truly huge clouds!
There are very little downsides to this truly outstanding two post RTA, and this absolutely has to be one of the best options out there for a two post RTA. I can’t recommend this highly enough, it’s a superb atomizer that delivers each and every time!
