In today’s review, we are looking at the RoarLabs Nicotine Salt range!
Rather than market themselves as a vaping company, London-based Roarlabs describe themselves as a scientific lifestyle services company. That looks to combine innovative technology with an environmentally conscious approach to their products as well as inclusivity.
They don’t just focus on smoking prevention with their Roar X device and nicotine salt e-liquid ranges. But also offer solutions to smokeless tobacco addiction too. For instance offering a safer Paan alternative that is free from carcinogenic Betel Nut and nicotine pouches.
Roarlabs are passionate about tobacco cessation and happily signpost to local stop smoking services, which is excellent to see. We recently reviewed their Roar X range of modular vapes, which we thought were great!
What Can We Expect From The Roarlabs Nicotine Salt E-liquid Range?
Crafted in East London by Roarlabs, this range takes the most popular flavours from the Roar X range of disposables. These are then recreated as a range of 10ml e-liquids, for use in a refillable low power pod kits, starter kits or vape pens.
Ten flavours make up the range: Cherry, Spearmint, Blueberry, Juicy Grape, Lemon Lime Soda, Peach Soda, Strawberry Cherry Raspberry, Blue Sour Raspberry, Pineapple Ice and Watermelon Splash.
These are blended with a 50/50 VG/PG ratio and are available in both 10mg and 20mg nicotine salt strengths. Using nicotine salt means that you can get a quicker nicotine hit than you would with traditional freebase nicotine, with smoother throat hit too.
I was kindly sent seven of the Roarlabs Roar Nicotine Salt e-liquids in 20mg nicotine salt strength by Vape Club. I have been trying these out in my Innokin Trine and SXmini Puremax pod systems.
Before I start this review, I need to make you aware that this is my opinion only and my experience vaping this range in the devices that I have mentioned. Your own experience may differ, as personal preferences and vaping set ups used can affect your own perception of an e-liquid.

Juicy Grape

I’m not normally a big fan of Grape e-liquids, for this one I will definitely make an exception!
Whereas when I tried this one as part of the Roar X range, I felt that it was a bit artificial tasting, I didn’t feel that way when trying this out in e-liquid form in my SXmini Puremax.
Quite the opposite in fact!
It was full of Purple Grape flavour, that I found juicy, sweet and refreshing. I loved how authentic it tasted, plus it got a big thumbs up from my wife who absolutely loves her Grape flavoured e-liquids!
Lemon Lime Soda
They say…
Lemon Lime Soda is the zesty kick you’ve been craving. Think of it as your favourite Soda, remixed for the streets of East London.

I couldn’t help but think about how smooth this e-liquid was, normally Lemon and Lime combos can be quite sharp and tangy but not so here!
I actually really like the more subtle take Roarlabs have come up with here. At first, I thought it was a little odd as my palate was expecting a zesty tang, but this is very much a more relaxed vape.
There is even a little twang at the end to replicate the Soda flavour, which just shows how much thought has gone into the blend here.

Blueberry

Yep, I’ll agree with the description here, this isn’t a Blueberry Pie flavour, over-flavoured icy bar salt or anything like that, it is a straight up replication of Blueberry fruit itself.
It is authentic tasting and much like having a mouthful of Blueberries. Roarlabs have got the mix pretty much spot on, with the tang and sweetness all present and correct.
Cherry

Much like the Blueberry flavour, this is a straight up representation of the actual fruit itself.
It is one of the best tasting Cherry flavours I have tried. Again Roarlabs need to be commended for their commitment to delivering an authentic fruit experience.
There is the sweetness of the Cherry, along with a nice rich undertone that hasn’t been overdone, with the mix level absolutely bang on the money.
Peach Soda

Normally, I find ‘soda’ style vapes quite lacking, namely in the soda flavouring department.
Not so with this one. The soda twang is definitely present and correct and it comes in after an almost perfect level of authentic Peach flavouring. Vaping this reminded me of having a sip of Peach flavoured Fizzy Water.
Outstanding stuff, I very much enjoyed this one.
Blue Sour Raspberry

On the inhale, I get a Blueberry flavour that mixes in with a slightly sweet Raspberry flavouring.
There’s sweetness and tartness to this e-liquid, but it felt like the sour element was slightly lacking here.
This one just tasted a touch too subtle for me, I felt that it could have been slightly stronger flavoured. Maybe I have become too used to vaping over-flavoured bar salt e-liquid versions of this flavour!
Pineapple Ice

Now this one definitely tasted a bit stronger than the Roar X disposable version, so much so that I had to turn the wattage down a couple of notches on my Innokin Trine!
The Pineapple flavouring is amongst the best I have tried! This delivers a real, authentic take on pineapple flavour with an icy twist at the end. The icy note is a bit subtle here, but this does allow for the excellent Pineapple flavour to shine through from start to finish.
Strawberry Cherry Raz

Definitely tastes like Roarlabs turned the sweetener dials right up here, in my opinion this was the sweetest tasting one out of this range!
Flavour-wise, this is quite full on too. My tastebuds get assaulted by a heap of strawberry, cherry and raspberry flavour, and I’m left with a really sweet aftertaste. There’s a really rich, thick mouthfeel to this one too.
A little bit too sweet for me if I’m honest, which means if you have a sweet tooth then this flavour will definitely be for you!
Watermelon Splash

I’m pleased to report that this didn’t taste overly harsh or artificial like quite a few other watermelon flavoured e-liquids on the market, quite the opposite in fact- which definitely makes it more vapeable for me!
It is a very smooth, subtle and authentic tasting watermelon flavour, with a good balance of sweetness and mouthwatering juiciness.
I did get a slight hint of an artificial taste on the exhale occasionally, but the authentic flavour made up for it!
Spearmint

This isn’t just a palate cleanser, though it does work very well as one that is for sure. It is very refreshing to the palate and features an authentic tasting flavour profile.
I’m partial to a tasty spearmint vape, and this effort from Roarlabs is definitely one I will order again.
It has the smooth, crisp taste profile that I look for when vaping a spearmint flavour, with an authentic minty flavour.
It’s simply done, but very refreshing and a well-rounded spearmint e-liquid with a nice level of sweetness to it as well.
Final Review Verdict
I really enjoyed the flavours that are present in Roarlabs Roar X range of disposable vapes and I couldn’t help but think these would be even better in a refillable pod system!
And trying out the Roar Nicotine Salt range just confirms that. These fared excellently in my pod systems, delivering smooth and tasty flavours across the board. With the extra power in my pod kits giving it the advantage over the disposable versions.
Flavours are authentic and deliver exactly what you would expect from them, with no artificial nastiness. Much like the disposable versions, there’s no compromise on flavour at all. They don’t seem to be overly sweetened judging by how well my coils fared with them!
