Wow – the full range of the Nasty Liq Nic Salt e-liquid has arrived for review!
This range is designed to replicate the experience you would get from a disposable vape. Disposables often have stronger flavour concentration and tend to focus on a sweeter vape.
Let’s see if it is worth ditching the expensive and wasteful disposables and upgrading to the Nasty Liq with a refillable kit!
What Can We Expect From The Nasty Liq Nic Salt E-liquid Range?
The range has a total of 16 flavours to choose from and they come in TPD Compliant 10ml bottles with 10mg or 20mg Nicotine Salt strengths.
I received all 16 flavours in the 10mg strength:
- Cherry Ice
- Rainbow Candy
- Peach Ice
- Pink Lemonade
- Kiwi Passionfruit Guava
- Lemon Lime
- Mango Peach Apple
- Gummy Bear
- Strawberry Raspberry
- Blueberry Sour Raspberry
- Mineral Water
- Watermelon Ice
- Blue Raspberry
- Fizzy Cherry
- Berry Bull
- Tobacco Menthol
The e-liquid mix ratio is 50%PG / 50%VG which is more suitable for low power pens, pods and starter kits. This mix is too thin for higher power kits and may cause leaks and spitting.
I will be using my OXVA Xlim Pro kit for these with a new V2 0.8ohm pod for each flavour.
Thank you to E-liquids.com for sending these over for me to review – I will report back honestly on my findings and opinions of the products in my possession!
As always e-liquid reviewing is very subjective. It can vary due to the individual palate of the reviewer, plus different equipment can also alter the flavour perception.
So please just use my findings as a guide. I will try to assess how well these flavours meet their descriptions and will mark them out of 10 at the end of the review.
Packaging
These come within a box with a nifty design, the bottle on the front actually just extends above the box top – so it looks more realistic!
To help prevent counterfeit e-liquid – there is a QR code on the sticker seal of the box which you can scan. This takes you to a verification page, then peel off the area in Silver of the sticker to reveal a code. Input the code into the webpage to check it is authentic.
There is a knack to peeling this sticker – I messed it up a few times so make sure to peel where the arrow shows – not peel the whole bloody thing off like I did !!
I think the design should keep everyone happy, it is bright but clear to read without being overly “Cartoon-ish”.
On the front is the flavour, bottle size, nicotine strength and the applicable warning. Also each flavour appears to have a different number on the box? Perhaps this is in case the UK regulates packaging in the future?
Also you get contact details for the manufacturers, full list of ingredients, warning symbols, PG/VG ratio and storage advice.
On the side of the box are details of the flavour with a chart illustrating the features of the flavour such as sweetness, throat hit etc. I have used these alongside each flavour below.
Inside the box you have the e-liquid bottle wrapped in a plastic wrapper which you tear open. I see that this is beneficial in terms of keeping the e-liquid fresh and preventing leaks and tampering, but it does create a bit more waste plastic than it needs to.
A short instruction booklet is included which elaborates on all the warnings and gives generic diagrams for refilling a pod kit.
The bottle label repeats all of the information you would find on the box, but it is very very small text. This of course is not Nasty’s fault, it is due to the amount of information required legally on e-liquid packaging.
A great thing to see is that both the box and bottle have their batch number and expiry date clearly marked. This is always a sign of a responsible manufacturer with traceability and quality control systems in place.
The bottle has a nice slim nozzle which should be compatible with most tanks and fill ports.
Of course this has the “Childproof” lid – which is almost “Adult-proof” too! I had to resort to using my teeth to grip it to open. Plus the Neon Green ring around the bottle nozzle will break when first opening – to show if the liquid has been tampered with.
Cherry Ice
Nasty Says:
“Delicious wild Cherries drenched in ice for a sweet, icy experience.”
I Say…
Yummo absolutely flipping delicious!
I will warn you though this is a COOOOLD one! Brrr!
This is a candy-ish Cherry rendition but not as synthetic as a lot of Cherry flavours can be!
It is definitely deeper. It also manages to be both sweet and sour at the same time – which is a bit crazy! Not only that but you almost get a fizzy sherbet sensation after exhaling which I really really love!
There is a tang which alternates against a syrupy style Cherry flavour, the two elements go back and forth within split seconds to make this so interesting!
Ultimately this is a cold and unusual take on Cherry but it really is delicious! I could vape this all day long!
Rainbow Candy
Nasty Says:
“Discover the magic of a sweet and sour medley that awakens your taste buds.”
I Say…
This reminds me of a bag of Haribo sweets!
Imagine sticking a random bunch of them in your mouth at the same time! You get the mixture of fruity flavours plus a few sour ones thrown in too!
There is also a nice gust of cooling, you feel it more when all the vapour is in your mouth and on the exhale. Usually the ice kicks in on the inhale but this is slower to ramp up and allows all the fruit to hit your tongue before the cooling numbs some of your taste buds!
This flavour should please those who love sweet vapes as there is a definite syrupy flavour plus plenty of tang from the sour notes too.
If your method of eating sweets is to stuff loads of different ones in your mouth at the same time then this e-liquid will make you very happy.
I am quite enjoying it to be honest and although it is very sweet there are plenty of tangy notes to balance it all out.
This is quite unusual as no one fruit is dominating, it is a pleasurable harmony of many different fruits and they blend perfectly. You are left with an ice cold feeling in your mouth though!
Peach Ice
Nasty Says:
“Enjoy a cool, aromatic vape experience with succulent, sweet Peaches and icy Mint.”
I Say…
This definitely ticks all the boxes!
First thing you get is a cold icy blast on the inhale, then as you exhale the Peach kicks in!
It is quite sweet, it reminds me of the syrup you often would have in a Tin of Peaches. Absolutely delicious!
It may not suit those who prefer a fresh realistic fruit flavour as it is quite sweet without any earthy or sour notes.
I cannot taste any mint – so I assume the cool mint refers to the icy sensation?
And it really is massively cold, you can actually feel it in your chest like you have just taken a breath outside in the snow!
Super refreshing, full of delicious Peach yumminess and a nice blast of ice – well done Nasty it’s a winner!
Pink Lemonade
Nasty Says:
“Tart Cranberry juice and sweet Lemonade for that sun-drenched summery feel.”
I Say…
This is another with a lot of ice.
But the flavour is spot on it is delicious!
The Cranberry has a tart quality on the inhale and this mixes with a sour Lemon on the exhale.
The amount of cooling means you can feel the ice in your throat and all the way down to your lungs!
I would say this is the least sweet offering in the range, but it still works and all the flavours in the description are present.
It is missing a bit of “fizz” which would bring the Lemonade aspect, as it stands it is more like Lemon juice. I have had some Lemonade e-liquids where you can feel the fizz but this feels like a flat Lemonade.
Definitely a flavour for those who like a bit of a tang!
Kiwi Passionfruit Guava
Nasty Says:
“Tangy Kiwi and fresh Passionfruit layered in tropical Guava flavour.”
I Say…
This is not one of those e-liquids I would automatically be drawn to as Guava and Kiwi are two flavours which I would prefer not to ever have to taste!
But Nasty have done something amazing with them!
You can expect the icy blast all the way down your chest, then you get a very syrupy sweet fruity combo bursting out.
Kiwi and Guava can often remind me of Soap and Cleaning Products but the sweetness here actually drags them kicking and screaming away from becoming Shampoo-like.
For that I am very very grateful!
As with the rest of these e-liquids this is not for the purist who wants fresh fruit replication, what you get is a very sweet/candy style version of these fruits.
I actually really like it, but there will be some people wanting more freshness and tang.
Lemon Lime
Nasty Says:
“Escape to the tropics with a hop in your step with this mesmerising Lemon-Lime blend.”
I Say…
This is really epic!
The cold blast precedes a beautiful sweet Lemon and Lime mash-up.
Yes you did read it right – this is very sweet! It has a syrupy sweet quality which wraps around the delicious fruits.
This is not for those who want a sour vape – it is too sweet to make your botty clench!
For me it is perfect as I have a sweet tooth and am not fond of heavily tangy stuff.
I would personally mark it 10/10 but it may disappoint some who want a tart vape – so will have to drop the mark a bit – sorry.
Mango Peach Pineapple
Nasty Says:
“Rejuvenating blend of creamy Mango, sweet Peaches and tangy Pineapple.”
I Say…
Urgh – just Urgh (Disclaimer: I dislike Mango Vapes!!)
Yes I am someone who detests Mango vapes and blended with Pineapple it brings out all the Mango qualities I dislike the most.
It is a very earthy Mango, almost dry and it also brings out that aspect of the Pineapple too. The fibrous dryness.
Like with the rest of the range the inhale does develop into a sweeter exhale which still does not save this for me. There is a tinge of Peach which again adds to the unpleasantness.
I am not sure who this would appeal to, I have had some rare decent Mango e-liquids, but for me this combo makes it even worse.
Also as the exhale is very sweet would this make Mango and Pineapple fans happy?
It does taste of Pineapple, Mango and Peach so there is an accuracy to the description, but in my opinion this combo actually reduces the appeal?
So although I dislike this immensely I will have to give it a decent score as the description does match what you get.
Gummy Bear
Nasty Says:
“Delicious candied Gummy flavour for a brighter, sweeter day that no one can mess up.”
I Say…
Hmm a very tricky one to describe this!
I did a search online for what flavours you would find in a pack of Gummy Bear sweets. In the USA version there are 12 different flavours: “Cherry, Pink Grapefruit, Watermelon, Strawberry, Orange, Blue Raspberry, Lime, Grape, Green Apple, Mango, Pineapple, and Lemon”
And yes all the above seem to apply – hence why it is a difficult flavour to review!
Sadly for me – the flavours that I dislike seem to be the most prominent – Watermelon and Mango in particular are very strong. It makes for an unfortunately “soapy” combination.
One of the benefits of the blending though is that each vape has a slightly different flavour – you pick out different fruity elements each time. But the Mango and Watermelon still overpower everything else.
It may just be that because I have an aversion to two of the fruit flavours, I am picking them up first? I don’t know – but for me those two have pushed the other fruits off the stage and walked into the spotlight.
You get the odd background fruit trying to peep out from behind a curtain, which adds interest but not enough to cope with the strong Watermelon and Mango I am afraid.
If you like those two flavours you will no doubt love this and enjoy the little fruity surprises that pop up as a bonus!
Strawberry Raspberry
Nasty Says:
“Fresh Strawberry flavour enhanced by the unique tartness of Raspberries.”
I Say…
I was expecting this to be a lot sweeter than it actually is. Plus there is a huge blast of ice on the inhale.
The ice dissipates quickly though and you are left with a very rich and quite tart dark berry flavour.
Personally I would like this to be a bit sweeter as it has the potential to tick all my boxes as berry flavours are one of my favourites.
This has a sour edge and a lot of depth – almost Red Wine like but fruitier if that makes any sense?
The Strawberry is more dominant but it is a bit synthetic and the Raspberry just comes across as a tangy accompaniment.
Being honest I am a bit disappointed in this one, even though I have an excessively sweet tooth, the actual fruit flavours used are not a candy style or a fresh style – they sit in a weird artificial limbo somewhere between.
Not the best Strawberry Raspberry e-liquid I have ever tasted sadly.
Blueberry Sour Raspberry
Nasty Says:
“Mouthwatering combination of sweet Blueberry and sour Raspberries.”
I Say…
Now this is right up my street!
This flavour has a sensible amount of cooling – not where my lungs feel like they need a radiator – it is just enough to be refreshing.
This is absolutely delicious, the sourer elements are the first to hit your taste buds on the inhale and the exhale presents the Syrupy sweet loveliness!
I have to admit this kind of flavour profile is one I would be drawn to in a vape store and it doesn’t disappoint.
There is plenty of tang on the inhale followed by the smooth sweetness on the exhale. So this should appeal to more vapers as both contrasts appear in the space of time of breathing in and out!
Quite epic this is!
Mineral Water
Nasty Says:
“Experience the pure and refreshing feel of drinking straight from a natural Spring.”
I Say…
Has this flavour been designed in case there is a ban on flavours in the UK? If that is the case I would definitely prefer this to bloody horrific tobacco flavour!
What you get is quite a cool inhale and then there is some kind of Watermelon tinge in the background? I had to double check I had not mixed up the flavours?
It tastes a bit soapy which then evolves into a syrupy sweetness. By no means is it awful but it was not at all what I was expecting? I was thinking it would be a more neutral flavour?
I have just checked the bottle again as surely this is not supposed to be Mineral Water?
One can only assume there has been some kind of mix up? There is a Watermelon Ice flavour (see next section below) so I have filled a pod with that to see if there is any difference?
The Watermelon Ice and Mineral Water e-liquids do smell different and there is a flavour difference so there is no mix up?
Sorry Nasty – I think this one needs renaming as it is not a Mineral Water flavour to me.
Watermelon Ice
Nasty Says:
“A cool and revitalising explosion of frozen Watermelon sweetness.”
I Say…
I detest Watermelon vapes and cannot understand why they are so popular – but hey everyone has their own “thing”!
This is a very very strong Watermelon which starts off dry and earthy then mutates into a syrupy rendition of the fruit. Which I am grateful for as it becomes less detergent-like on the exhale.
Yes this is not my bag at all, but I can vouch that this does indeed represent Watermelon and there is a nice amount of cooling here.
However like with the rest of the range, this does have a heavy sweetness present. There is a genuine fresh fruit flavour on the inhale but you will get a wallop of syrupy sweetness on the exhale which might put some off.
Blue Raspberry
Nasty Says:
“Sweet and tart flavours blend harmoniously in these juicy Blue Raspberries.”
I Say…
This is another flavour which would get my attention on a shelf full of e-liquid, I love a Blue Raspberry – so what does Nasty Liq’s version bring?
This is typical Blue Raspberry, slightly tart on the inhale with a beautiful syrup gorgeous-ness on the exhale.
It is exactly what you would be expecting and is a beauty.
There is the trademark cooling but thankfully it is nice and mellow on this flavour, just enough and never becomes too harsh.
Although the aftertaste is very sweet there is plenty of tang when you first inhale so this should keep both the sweet and sour crews happy! A stunning mastery of the flavour!
Fizzy Cherry
Nasty Says:
“Classic, bubbly Cola flavour with a sweet Cherry explosion for an incredible mouth-feel.”
I Say…
Am looking forward to this one!
Unfortunately there is some crazy spicing going on. Way too much Cinnamon and Nutmeg here, spoils the whole balance in my opinion. Plus there is a medicinal Clove aspect going on too which is not pleasant.
The spices make it feel dry on the inhale, yet after the exhale you do get a Cherry Cola sensation and flavour, but you have to wait for it to kick in.
It is hard for me to score this one, as after the exhale it would be 10/10 as it totally tastes of Cherry Cola with a lovely syrupy smooth texture. But the awful spicy inhale makes me almost dread vaping it?
There is a decent amount of cooling here, I just wish I could skip the inhale and go straight to the yummy post-exhale. Such a shame the spicing balance has overpowered the promising flavour.
So it does live up to the description – but only after you have vaped it!
Berry Bull
Nasty Says:
“Supercharged mixed berries flavour for a knockout experience.”
I Say…
Now this is amazing, it instantly reminds me of the Ruthless Energy Drank which I often use to test Sub Ohm devices.
This is a Super Dooper medley of dark fruits, I get Raspberry, Blueberry and Blackcurrant – there may be many more mixed in too!
The cooling is a bit tamer on this one thankfully but there is still enough to make you feel like you are sipping from a cold can of the popular Red Male Bovine.
Even though this is a nic salt you are getting all the flavour you would expect from a higher VG e-liquid which is very surprising.
There is quite a tang but also some sweetness but they are both balanced so well that you get them both at the same time, which is very weird! Very hard to explain but in a split second you notice a sour note which evolves into something sweet and then back again.
The blending is absolute perfection here, bravo Nasty!
Tobacco Menthol
Nasty Says:
“Cool, menthol layered in premium tobacco to ease that nostalgia for menthol ciggies.”
I Say…
Sadly I am dreading this one! The smell reminds me of the “Old School” tobacco e-liquids I have always detested!
Yes there is the chemically tobacco flavour on the inhale – I really dislike how tobacco is replicated in this way.
The menthol is quite sweet, like eating a mint whilst smoking, there is no Eucalyptus vibe. However it does take the edge off the chemical tobacco flavouring. (It must be noted though that I find most Tobacco e-liquids smell and taste chemically – I only enjoy them when they are blended with Caramel, Vanilla or Chocolate.)
Personally a bit more cooling is needed to fully replicate the sensation of a menthol cigarette and the tobacco flavour used does let this down a bit.
Saying that it is not the worst I have ever tasted, but the lack of Eucalyptus and cooling might result in this being not very appealing to a menthol smoker.
It is merely average and needs a bit of work in my opinion.
Nasty Liq Nic Salt E-liquid Final Review Verdict
As the Nasty Liq range is designed to replicate the experience of a disposable vape, you will find a lot of these are candy / sweet versions of the fruits they are based on.
This is the kind of flavour which is most popular in disposables and I have to say they tick my boxes too! You will see the word “Syrup” floating around a lot as that is the basis of a lot of the flavours.
If you want fresh natural fruit flavours – this is probably not the range for you.
Also I found the range to be a bit “hit and miss”. Some scored highly and others were letting the side down. There are some absolute bangers which hit the spot and others which fell a bit below expectation.
Some of these are very high in the coolant department, in general this is very refreshing but if you are not a fan of icy inhales, you might want to swerve this range. I often found it even continued cooling right down to my lungs and left me feeling like I had taken a cold breath on an icy morning. Which was not always pleasant if you are vaping repeatedly – it can start to feel a bit uncomfortable.
I would suggest Nasty could tone down the ice a bit, but sometimes it does work well making the flavours more refreshing. Also I have to say I do not regularly use e-liquids with cooling, so it may be that I am a bit over sensitive to it.
If you have tried the Nasty Liq range let me know your thoughts in the comments below!
