In for review is the Lost Vape Ursa Nano S pod kit.
The Ursa family include simple pod kits such as the Ursa Baby and Ursa Nano plus more advanced pod mods such as the Ursa Pod Mod and Ursa Mini Pod.
Unfortunately on the Lost Vape website they have bundled the Ursa Nano S and the Ursa Nano Art together, so am sorry if you see both in some of the images. The Ursa Nano Art will be covered in a different review.
What To Expect From The Lost Vape Ursa Nano S…
This kit is a bargain price so you have few features and the kit contents are a bit sparse – so remember that if you do judge what is on offer.
Battery wise this has an 800mAh capacity battery with a USB Type C 2A recharging facility.
The output for the Nano S is 5-16W. From what I can see there is no method of adjusting the output so I assume the device adjusts according to the coil installed? No confirmation of this though.
The Nano S uses Nano pods which are refillable but the coil is fixed. You get 1 0.8ohm Nano pod in the kit. I also found that the Ursa UB Mini replaceable coil pods work on here too (used the one from the Ursa Nano Art) so plenty of compatibility!
There is no airflow adjustment and from what I can tell this must be auto draw as I cannot see any fire button. There is an LED indicator but according to the instructions this only alerts on low battery and fault conditions.
Here is an introduction video from the Lost Vape YouTube channel.
The Ursa Nano S comes in 10 colour options: Lemon Yellow, Stone Grey, Baby Blue, Coral Pink, Violet Purple, Full Black, Mint Green, Berry Blue, Rose Red and Cyan Orange.

Design and Build Quality
I received this in the Mint Green colour and as it is a review sample it has the standard 2.5ml capacity. If you are in a TPD regulated area this capacity will be reduced to 2ml.
As mentioned above this is a budget priced kit – basically the cost of 2 disposable vapes – so I will keep that in mind during the review.
It comes in a cardboard box which you pull out the plastic inner tray. The main device has a plastic bag around it for protection.
The pod is already installed but thankfully has an isolator sticker on the base to prevent accidental operation.
A small USB Type C cable sits in the plastic tray with the instructions, warranty card and tips card loose in the box.
Unfortunately the instructions are not particularly impressive. They are one single page in each language. You can also download a digital copy from Lost Vape here.
You get a basic exploded diagram, specifications, warnings and the description of the LED indicator functions. But it does not tell you what happens when charging – how do you know when it is fully charged?
Lost Vape Ursa Nano S Mod
The first thing that struck me was the lovely feel of the device. It has a matt rubbery style coating which makes you want to just keep stroking it.
Sadly my second impression was not as positive, as the pod rattles about like a tin of beans in a washing machine. It is held in well and shaking it about does not make the pod fall out, it is just wobbly.
Another thing I am not keen on is the location of the LED indicator. It is on the side of the device which will be a bugger to see whilst vaping. As this has a “Duck Bill” style mouthpiece the device will have the front or rear facing up when vaping and the LED will be to the side.
Despite my concerns weirdly you can see the LED when vaping! Perhaps my eyes point in the wrong direction but I did get the light in my peripheral vision!
The branding is nice in a Silver metallic text with “Ursa Nano S” on one side and “Lost Vape” on the other.
On the base are the required legal logos / text and this appears to be a sticker.
One side of the device features the USB Type C port and a pinhole airflow inlet.
The opposite side has the small LED and another airflow inlet.
Inside the pod compartment are two magnets to secure the pod and 2 spring loaded contacts.
Apart from the wobbly pod and odd LED placement this is quite a cute device!
Ursa Nano Pod
This is exactly the same as the fixed coil pod used on the Lost Vape Ursa Baby Pro which I reviewed in January.
This time you get an 0.8ohm resistance pod compared to the 0.6ohm included in the Ursa Baby Pro. I just included the 0.6ohm in the photo for comparison.
The coil resistance is marked on a small section towards the base.
The fill port is covered by a large silicone flap which is super easy to lift due to the size and a small cut-out for your nail.
Plus you can rotate the cover out of the way for filling.
However the fill port location is weird, you sort of have to hold the pod at an angle when filling to try to get as much into the pod as you can without it splurging back out the fill port.
The port itself is around 4x6mm so should accommodate most bottle spouts but you do have to really push firmly to shut the port cover.
This has a dark tint and the lower half of the pod is concealed in the mod but the mouthpiece section allows you to view the e-liquid level easily.
Lost Vape Ursa Nano S Quick Start Guide
This comes with just the one pod. Thankfully this has an isolator sticker on the base to prevent accidental activation.
If you inhale before you have added e-liquid you will damage the coil and probably all of your tastebuds too! So make sure to fill the pod and leave it to stand 5-10 mins before removing the isolator sticker.
Failure to do this will knacker up the only pod you get and you won’t be able to use this kit until you purchase a new pod!
Basic Operation
- Power On/Off = this has no on / off or fire button.
- Vaping = inhale on the mouthpiece to trigger the auto draw system.
- Battery indicator = this will flash 10 times when the battery needs charging.
- Battery indicator when charging = it doesn’t say on the instructions but in my experience the light goes out when fully charged.
Protections
- Low battery – LED will flash 10 times when this requires charging.
- Short circuit – LED will flash 2 S (no idea what the “S” means – perhaps 2 seconds?) – clean the pod and device contacts, replace the pod if necessary. If fault still occurs the device may be faulty.
- Over Time Protection – if you vape for longer than 10 seconds the LED will flash twice and the device will cut out. This is to prevent over heating or accidental firing. You can vape again straight after.
- Too Hot – if the device exceeds the temperature limit the LED will flash 2 S (again ?). Wait for the device to cool down.
How To Charge The Battery
The charging rate is specified as 2A.
- Using a USB type C cable connect the small end into the USB port on the mod.
- Connect the large end of the cable into a suitable USB outlet.
- The LED will light up whilst charging.
- When fully charged the light will go out.
The charging time for me using a 2A charging plug/outlet was 1 hour 15 minutes every time. Which feels slow for a 2A compatible device.
How To Fill the Pod
- Remove the pod from the mod.
- Tip the pod on its side with the fill port at the top.
- Lift up and swing the fill port cover out of the way.
- Add e-liquid whilst observing the level through the pod.
- Close the fill port firmly.
- If this is the first fill or a new coil leave the pod to stand for 5-10 minutes. Take a few dummy inhales on the mouthpiece before inserting the pod into the mod to help with the e-liquid flow.
- Replace the pod in the mod.
How Does the Lost Vape Ursa Nano S Perform?
I mainly used my own e-liquid mix which is 50/50 PG/VG made from IVG Bubblegum Concentrate at 20% ratio. This is quite high a flavour ratio as I prefer plenty of flavour, but sadly this means it can be a coil killer sometimes.
I add nic salt to approx 6mg strength.
Personally I wouldn’t use a ratio any higher than 60% VG as this is a small coil. It might work though you can always try – the worst that will happen is a damaged coil if it struggles to wick thicker liquid.

0.8ohm Ursa Nano Fixed Coil Pod
At the first few vapes I was mega disappointed. There was a cottony odd taste.
But please persevere as this vanishes and leaves you with an excellent flavoured vape – wow!
The flavour really is “banging” and this also has a slightly warm temperature which I prefer – it seems to bring out all the taste.
There is a great throat hit, even with my 6mg Nic Salt and plenty of vapour to make you grin!
What an excellent pod this is – just don’t judge on the first few vapes!
So far I have filled this pod 12 times and the flavour is still epic!
Airflow
This is a slightly tight MTL airflow which is spot on for the type of device this is. It is definitely comparable airflow and flavour wise with a disposable.
This would not work as a Restricted Lung Device (RDL) as you need a lot of “suck” to get it to fire.
Mod Performance
This generally works well but at times the auto draw can be a bit “stuttery”. It doesn’t happen all the time but occasionally.
Also when the battery charge is getting low the last 10 or so vapes are very weak and you have to take really long draws to get vapour.
Leaks
I got no leaks at all in use, but after using the Ursa Baby Pro I suggest you firmly push the fill port cover closed after filling. On that device I did get leaks from the fill port.
So on this kit I made sure to close the port firmly and so far so good!
Battery Life
As everyone’s vaping habits vary this is just a guide. I am a heavy vaper so take that into account!
But I got around 4.5-5 hours (3 tanks full) between charges. It is worth noting I do have the 2.5ml tank so you might be refilling more per charge with the 2ml version.
Pros
- Stunning matt rubber finish
- Compatible with other fixed coil Ursa pods and replaceable coil Ursa UB Mini pods
- USB cable included – which is rare in low price kits
- Amazing flavour and airflow
- Excellent price point
Cons
- Instructions are very poor
- Auto draw can be a bit stuttery at times – I think this may be linked to my wobbly pod
- No battery level indicator
- Very wobbly pod – but it doesn’t fall out
- Only one pod included in kit – but this does keep the cost low
- Slow to charge
Final Review Verdict
Again I have to remind myself of the price point of this kit, basically the cost of 2 disposable vapes. This price point does make me less critical of the Lost Vape Ursa Nano S as it appeals to a different market than other more advanced pod kits.
However there are some things which I think could do with improvement.
The pod was very wobbly – but saying that it didn’t fall out on its own. Also this really would benefit from a battery charge indicator – I would happily pay another £2 for this feature. But this kit is not really targeted to me.
I think the instructions really need to be more informative – diagrams of how to fill and more information on the LED indications need to be added for the real beginner vapers that this kit is targeted to. The target market may not be familiar with refillable and rechargeable vapes and the information needs to be clearly provided.
The simplicity of this kit is its main advantage – fixed coil disposable pods and no adjustments make this a “pick up, fill, charge” kit.
Would this tempt a disposable vape user to upgrade to a reusable kit? Well if the instructions were better I would say 100% yes. As it stands the lack of detail in the instructions makes me think that Lost Vape really must assess the needs of their target market.
What I will say is that the flavour and airflow are the same as a disposable so if you are transitioning grab a strong flavoured e-liquid and you will not spot the difference in performance at all.
Hopefully the instructions in this review will help to guide a newbie through getting this kit set up and make up for the lack of info from Lost Vape.
Despite all the niggles with this kit, the flavour really made this one of my favourites.
