The Lost Vape Prana Pod Kit is a tiny low power stealth kit that’s compact and very portable.
Hailing from China, Lost Vape as a company was established in 2014 by inventor Frank Guo.
He established Lost Vape to bring a new brand of unique and high end devices to the market that had functionality and beauty with ease of use in mind.
When I’ve been asked in the past which company do I think have a good handle with pod systems? I will often recommend Lost Vape because their devices have good quality and usability and they make some of the best pod mod vapes on the market.
They also have a great selection of devices to choose from at a reasonable price.
Some of the pod kits they have produce in the past include – Q Pro, Lyra, Orion Plus, Q Ultra and Prana. Of course they have also produced some really beautiful mods for those of us that prefer the more substantial device like – Triade DNA 250c, Furyan squonk and the Paranormal DNA250C.
What Can We Expect From the Prana Pod Kit?
It comes with a beautiful exterior chassis in either acrylic or textured leather in 6 design colours:
The Prana features 12w max of power with three different output power modes and auto draw (suck to fire), it takes advantage of replaceable cartridges/pods they have easy to use side-fill ports, and the bonus for me is the coils are made from Kanthal.
The build quality and finish of this device is beyond excellent or to use my wife’s words isn’t it pretty!
What does the word Prana mean? It is the Sanskrit word for “life force”; in yoga, Oriental medicine, and martial arts, the term refers to a cosmic energy believed to come from the sun and connecting the elements of the universe!

Design and Build Quality
This kit comes presented nicely in a card box with an over sleeve, I was sent the Gem Blue design for this review.
Lost Vape Prana Pod Kit – Mod
Measuring in at 66.8mm by 41.4mm with a thickness of 14.2mm and weighing in at 70g roughly around the size of a zippo lighter,
With a body made of zinc alloy and acrylic panels to each side that have a holographic quality to them when the device is moved.
Branding, one side says “Prana”.
On the other it has Lost Vape with their logo.
The Lost Vape Prana kit consists of two parts the body and a plastic refillable 1 ml pod, the device has a 500mAh in built lipo battery that should last the average user all day as a mouth to lung device.
The base of the device has the micro USB charge port along with 4 battery vent holes as well as the usual safety info.
Top of the device you will see the port for the pod, to one side is a loop for the included lanyard.
Looking into the pod port there are 2 small spring loaded connection points in the middle is a tiny internal airflow hole.
Down one side of the port is a rail type structure your pod fits with the fill port into this rail with a smart click with no movement in fact it can be difficult to remove the pod if you have liquid on your hands.
Near the control panel you will note a liquid view window so you can easily check your level, below this is the action button which will flip your 3 power functions and a small led lamp; more about these later, because this device is draw activated there are no buttons for firing.
Lost Vape Prana Kit – Pods
With the kit comes 2 side fill R1 pods; both come sealed in push out packs, they are both rated at 1.2Ω and a liquid capacity of just 1ml.
Both pods feature a sealed in kanthal coil, which means that when the coils reach the end of their natural lives you will have to buy replacement pods!
Main structure of the pods are made of clear plastic which makes it easy to see your liquid.
Side fill plug is small and made of black silicone which fits very well.
The mouth piece is black plastic and feels a little chunky in the mouth compared to some devices I have used in this category.
On the base of the pod it has the normal 2 connection points along with 2 small airflow holes.
The Lost Vape Prana kit is a small device that is pocket friendly, the mod and pods have been designed well with an excellent quality of manufacture.
How Does Lost Vape Prana Kit Perform?
For this review I will fill one of the pods with my go to liquid from Ohm Baked, Apple and Rhubarb Crumble.
Lost Vape Prana Kit – Basic Quick Start Guide
Filling the Pods
- Push the pod from the packaging.
- Turn the pod on its side and remove the silicone bung to reveal the fill port.
- Fill the pod with liquid and re plug the bung.
- Place the pod into the Prana device it will click into position.
Leave the device alone for 2 or 3 minutes to allow the cotton within the coil to soak the liquid – called ‘priming your coils‘.
Tip: don’t let your liquid run out completely this will help preserve coil life. I would suggest half way down the visible cotton is far enough.
Lost Vape Prana Kit – Device
Make sure the battery is charged fully before first use!
Click the action button 5 times to turn the Prana on and off
The device has multi colour wattage light display, when first turned on the lamp will be white.
To switch between the various power levels press the action button once to show the current level and once more to change that level.
Power level lights
- Green high 12w
- Blue medium 10w
- Red low 9w
Battery Status Indicator
- Green 65 – 100%
- Blue 15 – 65%
- Red – 15%
When charging the lamp will flash through the various levels, when fully charged the lamp will stay a steady Green.
Lost Vape Prana Kit – Safety Protections
The mod includes 4 protections these include:-
- Weak battery
- Short circuit
- Temp protection
- Low/High resistance
Lost Vape Prana Kit – 1.2Ω Pods
I was slightly disappointed that the pods were only 1ml fill capacity, however in my testing I was able to use the full pod for a good 3.5 hours before needing to refill.
These pods are certainly mouth to lung and cope well with the full 12w of power the device can put out!
The airflow was OK I would say it is slightly looser than the Uwell Caliburn Koko the flavour isn’t quite as good as the Koko though! I compared them together for vapour quality and would say that the Prana has a slight edge on the Koko.
As for coil life I have been using the same pod for nearly 2 weeks and it is still going strong with fair flavour and vapour production – you watch now I’ve said that I bet I will need to change it out lol!
Lost Vape Prana Kit – Battery Life etc
With a 500mAh internal battery it is designed so that the average user will get a complete day of usage from a single charge, I did 2 tests with this device, the first as an average user; from a full charge and the blue setting I managed nearly 7 hours vape time!
The second at my normal rate of vaping and green setting I found had to recharge after 4 hours (I’m a heavy chain vaper at times lol).
Given this device is draw activated, I did find that whilst in use, a stronger than normal pull was needed to activate the mod – not a big deal but it did make me think the device wasn’t working at first.
Whilst I can’t say I am thrilled with the lanyard loop, with my hand problems, it was quite a task to thread the lanyard into place; however once in place the lanyard works as advertised.
Pros
Prana device
- Very good quality
- Very good design
- Excellent manufacture
- Colourful
- Easy to use “fill and suck”
- Fairly loose airflow
- Good battery life
Pods
- Coil life is good
- Fair flavour and vapour production
Cons
- Mouth piece is a little on the chunky side
- Fill capacity is disappointingly low at 1ml with sealed pods
- A stronger than normal pull is needed to activate
- I personally would have liked to have seen USB-C rather than micro USB charging
Final Review Verdict
For a small mouth to lung low power device I think Lost Vape have done very well with the Prana.
I don’t say this much about pod devices but the Prana is certainly one of the best looking little kits I have reviewed in a long time!
It’s ideal for those that want a 2nd carry around device and for those new to vaping also the price won’t break the bank either. While I have a couple of niggles with the device I wouldn’t call any of them a deal breaker.
Would I recommend the Lost Vape Prana Pod Kit?
For those looking for a stealthy small MTL device or those just giving up smoking “Yes” it has a stylish look to it and functions well.
Would I buy this kit again due loss or damage?
This is a twofold answer!
If I was looking for purely style and portability I would have already have put an order in for a second Prana!
The only thing that stops me doing so is I already have a great many similar devices with a larger fill capacity and a better flavour so “No” not this time.
So…are using the Lost Vape Prana pod kit?
Let me know your thoughts in the comments below 🙂
Hi Kevin,
Thank you for this amazing review! You assumed nothing about your audience except literacy, which, in and of itself, is refreshing.
You covered the A, B, C’s, for those new to vaping.
Took us from A to Z in specifications, function, and safety.
And at every step along the way, you included an array of very well done reference images, enlarged, enhanced, zoomed in, just enough to create a pixel perfect visual companion to your already awesome written presentation!
So thank you for all the thought and work and time you out into this.
This really is the most helpful and informative review I’ve ever come across!!
Cheers:)
Hi Stephanie
Thank you for your kind comments I’m glad you found the review helpful and informative.
I bought the prana but when I got it, it didn’t even work 😠it only hits about 20% of the time. Ive tried everything and it still won’t work correctly. Hopefully they will exchange it.
