It has been shared on Twitter that the London Fire Brigade back vaping!
Basically the LFB (London Fire Brigade) have a fact sheet giving advice for those who are caring for vulnerable people who smoke.
You can read the factsheet here – Caring For Smokers.
The document starts off by recommending that those who are vulnerable should try to quit smoking – which is easier said than done.
They then go on to say that “Vaping is safer than smoking”
I quote…
“If the person you care for isn’t ready to stop, reducing risks is the next best thing. Vaping (E-cigarettes) can be helpful for stopping smoking and are less harmful, but they are not risk free and still need to be used safely. If they switch to e-cigs, make sure they buy a good quality device, and learn to charge it safely. We have a page where you can learn more about vaping safely.”
Wow this is great!
Also they direct you to pages about vaping safely and charging safely.
Plus further down the document the risks of fire related to a vulnerable smoker are listed…
