KiK Cloud 50W Kit Review

My first thought looking through the cellophane window in the KiK’s sub ohm starter kit was it looked like a kids Transformers toy – it became known as VapeOtron from then on.

The packaging does its job however, the lurid pink base whilst eye-catching did make it look like a make-up set at first glance – but hey it’s all about the kit as the box usually ends up in the recycle bin.

However don’t throw it out too quickly the only instructions are written in very small writing on the back.

In The Box

Kit Contains:

• 2 x 0.5 Ohm coils
• KiK Cloud Sub Ohm Tank
• 50W MOD 2000mAh
• Micro USB charger

There are no surprises, however, the lack of an instruction manual inside the box might be an issue for some.

Build and Design Quality

Looks can be deceiving because before I took it out of the box I have to say I thought it looked like a plastic lovers dream – however a closer look and once in my hand that initial impression changed fast.

This is a well-made good looking mod. It’s compact – if a little heavy for its size – and fits beautifully in my average sized hands and would most definitely suit a woman looking to enter the sub ohm vaping world.

I had the black mod to test and the silver coloured top with the arrow design front piece gives it a distinct space-age look – back to Transformers again lol.

This black and silver effect is a great idea as the mod can be matched with a black or silver tank without making it look like a mismatch – an important feature for style warriors and fashion gurus such as myself lol.

There’s no LED screen on this mod given it’s a fixed 50 Watt device that’s hardly surprising.

However, the instructions suggest you can cycle through various vaping options by clicking three times.

To be honest I found only the tiniest difference by doing this.

The Tank – KiK Cloud Sub Ohm

Vaping on a 0.5 Ohm coil at the fixed 50 Watts.

The first impression was it’s a nice clean looking 2ml tank.

It’s a bottom filler and is a tad fiddly to fill – but then there’s not much room to manoeuvre in such a small tank.

The 510 thread means it’s compatible with most mods on the market.

There are two airflow slots on the base however even with both wide open I found the draw to be tighter than I prefer.

The stainless steel drip tip seems quite tall for the size of the tank and not sure if I was unlucky to get a dud – but it’s extremely loose and comes out far too easily for my liking.

I tried a couple of my spares – some wouldn’t fit at all whilst others were again to loose by far.

How Does The KiK Cloud 50 Watt Mod Perform?

4 days in and the mod is growing on me but forget about the tank.

Given it’s fixed at 50 watts you do indeed get a decent amount of vapour – a good throat hit and the flavour is OK.

If you like a tight draw then you’ll absolutely love this mod – personally I don’t unless I’m vaping tobacco flavour mouth to lung. I find myself having to ‘work’ to get a good lungful but then the vape became far too warm for my taste!

However popping a different tank on the mod and I was a happy vaper again – so as I said at the start nice mod shame about the tank.

What I Like

I really liked the design of the KiK Cloud 50W Sub Ohm mod with the compact size comfortable in the hand.

This is ‘pick up and vape’ easy to use, great for those new to vaping or first-time sub ohm vapers. No guess work required with various settings.

The 2000 mAh battery appears to last forever!

What I Don’t Like

I personally don’t like non-variable mods full stop. The 3 click cycle through the power options doesn’t appear to do much.

The tank – just doesn’t cut it for me. Vape is too warm and draw is far too tight for my preference.

Final Review Verdict

I’d most definitely buy the mod to keep as a spare, for days out or to leave in the car or office.

However the first thing I’d do is swap out the tank.

It’s compact size – battery quality and design makes it perfect for all day vaping and would be a great entry point for newcomers to sub ohm vaping.

And without being too sexist I think women would enjoy vaping on this device – more choice of colours may help.
