The convenient and powerful Kanger K-Kiss mod is the latest release from ever popular Shenzhen based vaping giant, KangerTech.
Kanger has long been a force to be reckoned with in the vaping world.
Since hitting the stores way back in 2007, they’ve brought us a constant stream of high performance products, including the Topbox line, the legendary Subtank line and the massively popular Dripbox series.
There were mixed responses when Kanger announced the release of their new K-kiss starter kit, featuring a massive 4.5ml tank, sub-Ohm SSOCC coils and…wait for it, a built-in 6300mAh Li-battery.
I was skeptical, to say the least. I didn’t know why but I didn’t fancy the idea. Well, I was mistaken.

Build Quality & Design
Kanger K-Kiss Mod
Well, the ergonomics of the design and the quality of the finishes cannot be denied.
We purchased the orange version and when I slid open the stylish black packaging to reveal a sleek and rather hipster looking triangular mod with rounded edges and a worn-sandpaper finish (not for filing nails on, ladies), I must admit I was a little stoked.
The finish is durable and after a hefty weekend, I can actually say that when it picks up dirt it sort of incorporates it into the finish in such a way that it looks even more ruggedly stylish than before.
Plus, you’re free to take a scrubbing brush to it without risking a scratch.
The top and bottom bases are made of the same zinc alloy and aluminum alloy material, however they are in black.
The upper section features a line of 5 UFO-like lights (the sum total of your display).
There is no OLED screen, these lights will flash in various ways to notify you of problems and the number of lights will diminish with your battery life.
LED Light Indicators
- When switching the device on the LED lights will flash to show current battery level, 5 when fully charged.
- PCB Board Over-heat – LED will flash 6 times
- LED Lights flash when on charge and stop flashing when charge is complete
The single black power button gets pressed five times for action and doubles as a firing button, of course.
You’ll find a micro-USB port for charging right above the neat KangerTech logo on another one of the three sides.
When I place my thumb on the firing button I like to rest the device on my little finger and place my pointing finger on the upper base where the lights are…it just feels very comfortable.
K Kiss Sub Ohm Tank
The 24mm K Kiss tank has a 4.5 ml capacity and a colored O-ring to match the color of your device.
It’s very simple looking, with no logos or motifs and also doesn’t include adjustable airflow, instead it features 4 slots designed to give a balanced airflow.
I hooked it up to the Alien 220W, the iJoy Zenith Maxo and the eLeaf Pico Dual.
It looked good on the Alien, Alright on on the Maxo and, obviously, overhung on the side of the Pico.
It will look good, although plain, on most larger mods but to be honest I would leave it right where it is on the K-Kiss.
Break down is incredibly simple, everything unscrews easy as can be, too easy in fact.
When you try to unscrew the tank from the mod, watch out that the bottom base doesn’t stay behind, leaving you with the top end, fixed support and glass tank in your hand.
It has a tendency to do this if you don’t grip it just right.
Pre-installed 0.2 Ohm SSOCC SS Coil
This coil comes pre-installed and is poised to show you just what a 6300mAh built in battery is actually capable of.
Accessories
Besides your charger, extra Pyrex tube and O-rings, you’ll be disappointed to discover that no extra coils are included in the kit. Not something we are a fan of here at Ecigclick!
How Does The KangerTech K-Kiss Perform?
First up I’d like to say that that the User Manual states that this mod is not for use with any tank other than the included one. In other words it’s likely not going to regulate itself when you fire another tank so please…be aware of that.
While the style of vape took a little getting used to, it’s not an unpleasant experience at all…what you’d expect from 60W and a 0.2 Ohm coil but with the addition of outstanding battery life.
How To Fill The K Kiss Tank
The grip design on the top cap makes unscrewing it a breeze and the top fill system means you just pour that e-juice down the inside of the glass, loads of space and no spillage.
- Unscrew top cap & mouth piece.
- Pour your liquid down the inside of the glass.
- Screw the top hardware back in place
- Wait 5 minutes to give your coils a chance to soak up the e juice and you’re ready to vape
How To Change the K Kiss Coil
Far too easy! One of the simplest coil changes you’ll ever do.
- Take a hold of the Pyrex tank and unscrew the tank with it’s fixed support from the base.
- Unscrew the coil from the base and replace.
- Replace the tank and voila!
Stock Coil Performance
The 0.2 Ohm coil actually measures in right there at 0.24Ohm.
I’ve tested them out on a variable wattage device and found that while they operated well from 40W right through to 70W…the Kanger K-Kiss is clearly set to the happiest medium for these coils and I’m guessing it’s something around 60W.
I find the vape slightly warm, comfortably so…although I found it spluttery and gurgly when the tank was filled any more than halfway.
One thing is 100% certain, this setup delivers an out of this world flavor punch.
Really solid flavor and I’m not exaggerating…the flavor delivery totally stunned me.
Airflow
I’m not used to this tight an airflow and I’m not used to a sub Ohm tank without adjustable airflow.
That, combined with the non-adjustable mod, seemed to be an issue at first. I found myself forced to vape in a way I’m not used to and struggled with a tight airflow that couldn’t be opened.
The thing is, I got used to it…and I can safely say that this set up delivers some of the best flavor I’ve had in a while.
It’s got a consistent and delicious style of its own and I like to pick it up and enjoy a little bit of its non-adjustable action, outdoorsy action.
Vapor volume is ample and as you’d expect from a 0.2 Ohm coil with flavor-punch wicking and 60W of power.
The vape tank is clearly made for this device and is operating sweetly at its sweetest spot of 60W.
It doesn’t guzzle juice too fast at all either…no, I was very satisfied with juice consumption and I got more flavor out of my e-juice than I’d known was there.
Battery Life
Here’s where the Kanger K-kiss went from being a convenient and durable hour on the beach vape mod to a freaking festival mod.
I literally couldn’t believe the battery life on this machine.
It saw me right through a day’s fairly heavy vaping and sporadic use during the night’s social gathering and when I switched it on the next morning for a vape, it still had 3 stars up…whhaaaatttt?
My lord, this is a nifty device. You can rest assured it was made as a travel companion, no need to hover around a charge port for most of your excursion.
What I Liked
The nonadjustable aspects make it consistent, it conserves juice and allows you to keep your hands free and just get on with business.
I love the durable finish and the fact that I don’t have to worry about battery care with this mod…there are times when you need that.
There are vapers who would definitely prefer this hassle free style, I’ve no doubt of that.
What I Dislike
The spluttering and gurgle from the tank and the fact that sometimes, I’d like to turn my wattage down!
Final Review Verdict
Let’s face it, the Kanger K Kiss is a great looking device and, without a doubt, there’s a place for a high powered mod that doesn’t require your constant attention.
For those vapers who aren’t as gadgety as the rest of us but still want to enjoy sub-Ohm cloudiness, it’s a no brainer.
Yet even we tinkerers may have a place for this, there will be days when you’re too busy, days when you need the battery life and there will be moments when you just can’t help it but you feel like picking up your K-Kiss mod. Don’t knock it until you’ve tried it.
And…
Would I buy the device again? Quite possibly…yes. The colors are sort of irresistible too.

Hi Nathan! You’ll notice in my picks that the glass has that coil housing attached and a black ring and a coloured ring at the bottom, make sure you’re unscrewing in the right place. I had the same problem, this one is tight. To be fair…I’ve even struggled to get it right with a pliers. Pliers, though, at the base, holding tight so you can grip the glass, is definitely your best bet. Otherwise…if your glass is still fine, it’s not necessary to remove it. If it’s damaged and totally stuck, smash it!
the base and top off the tank don’t seem to want to come apart, what should i do?
Hi Rosette, I’m sorry to hear about your tank!
I’ve had no problems with my own, however I do have a friend who’s experienced a similar problem with hers, so I think for some reason this tank is a hit and miss from Kanger! I’d say you’re good to go with any mini-subohm tank and because this isn’t necessarily the most powerful mod, aim for 0.2-0.5 Ohms.
To stay in-brand you could go with the Kanger Toptank Mini, otherwise I’d recommend the Sense Blazer Mini or the Uwell Crown Mini III.
Before you totally give up on your Kanger tank, have the assistant at you local vape shop check over the seals and see whether any adjustments can be made to salvage it, it would be a shame to waste it if it’s just a faulty seal or damaged threading on the coil. Good luck and let us know if you find a good match!
Hi.. do you know what other tanks we can put on a k-kiss? Cause the tank the comes with it leaks and gets really hot.. pls help..
It works great with a Cubis tank with 0.6ohm coils
I’ll definitely be sure to check that out! Given the low resistance capacity of the device, I’ve no doubt there are a good number of popular sub-ohm tanks that’ll fire up pretty adequately on the K-kiss…we’d always advise beginners to make sure they know the limitations of the device before fitting a new tank though. Thanks for the heads up, Andy!
