The Kanger Kbox 120w is a new addition to the ever growing K Box line up. With it’s dual 18650 battery power capable of a 120w output it looks as if Kangertech want to have a K Box for every wattage capability.
The KBox 120W is also packed with one of the most advanced temperature control functions yet. Supporting the popular Ni200 and Titanium, the K Box is also compatible with Stainless Steel and Nichrome wire.
As far as I know this is the first mod that supports Nichrome wire in temperature control mode!
Given how packed it is with features it couldn’t be further away from the original KBox, so let’s see how far the K Box has come with the 120w TC box mod.

Build Quality & Design
The Kanger KBox 120w is manufactured from Zinc and Aluminum alloy, and the finish on this unit is superb.
It’s available in a range of three colors (black, red and white), but you do need to take care in protecting the finish as it’s prone to scratches and chips.
The spring loaded 510 connection on the top is a dream to use and the threading is very smooth. You have buttons on the side that although look small, they are actually easy to reach and responsive.
A slight annoyance I had was that the screen on the side of the unit seemed pretty difficult to read in direct sunlight causing a few issues when I was trying to adjust wattage.
This was a problem we found with the K Box 70 as well.
The battery cover on the other side is easy to use. This slides on and off with ease and gives you access to the battery compartment on the inside, which requires two 18650 batteries.

How Does The Kanger K Box 120 Perform?
If you are looking for a mod with great battery life, the Kbox 120w is an excellent choice.
It takes two removable 18650 batteries that will last the majority of users a full day at least before needing a recharge.
Just remember to buy batteries from a trusted battery supplier, and ensure they are capable of a 25A continuous limit at least.
Don’t be tempted to carry spares around loose in your pocket, buy a cheap case to store them and carry them around.
The KBox 120w is a very powerful unit and it offers you a huge 120 watts of power at your disposal. Add to this coil resistance compatibility down to 0.1ohm in wattage mode and it makes a fantastic choice to pair with any sub ohm vape tank.
With its power range it’s a great choice for any vaper as people who prefer lower power will benefit from great battery life. Cloud chasers will have some immense power in their hands!
Temperature Control
A fantastic temperature control mode is included and this even supports Nichrome as well as Stainless Steel, Titanium and Ni200 coils.
You only need to set your temperature limit and the KBox 120w will select the most suitable power for you. With Ni200, Stainless Steel and Titanium coils the mod was superb, never missing a beat for me and never once did I get a dry hit.
Nichrome was a different matter. It didn’t seem to function all that well with Nichrome however.
I used some Nichrome builds and I did experience some dry hits when I should have got a temp protected message.

What I Like
I love how the Kanger KBox 120w looks. The finish is outstanding on this unit and it’s so comfortable to hold in your hand with the rounded edges slotting into the palm of your hand perfectly.
The Kanger KBox 120w is a very simple to use unit.
There aren’t any confusing menu systems to navigate, you simply adjust settings through a combination of different button actions.
With temperature control you don’t even need to set the power. You can just set your ideal temperature and the KBox 120w will do the rest for you, selecting a wattage output to suit the temperature limit.
With it taking two 18650 batteries you not only have a very powerful unit in the palm of your hand capable of outputting 120w.
The battery life as from the Kbox 120w is impressive, it will last most users a whole day at least even with heavy vaping.
The temperature control functionality is one of the best yet. You have support for not only Ni200 and Titanium wire, but Stainless Steel and Nichrome wire as well.
What I Dislike
It’s got a great temperature control function but I felt it didn’t work particularly great with Nichrome wire.
It is advertised that Nichrome wire is compatible with the KBox 120w but I was getting dry hits occasionally when I should have got a ‘temp protected’ message.
Build quality overall is great but I felt the battery compartment felt a little flimsy, and it feels like it could break with a little force.
I would just be a little careful with this!
Resistance doesn’t seem to read all that accurately. The KBox 120w seemed to be off by about 0.05-0.1 ohm with near enough every atomizer I used.
This issue can be rectified by changing the wattage to compensate but keep that in mind.
Final K Box 120w TC Mod Review Verdict
I didn’t expect an awful lot from the Kbox 120w I must admit. I must say I ended up really impressed with this unit, and it ended up being a mod I reached for time and time again.
Despite a few minor issues, it’s a very reliable performer, and in my opinion it is one of the best looking units around!
For the price, this is a real bargain that offers a feature rich unit that looks superb and is also simple to use as well.
Verya nice Kbox. Thanks for review.
Nice mod, but the paint is cheap.
