Design and Build Quality
The Kit comes in a card box with an over sleeve, the device is wrapped in a protective dust jacket.
Teros One Pod Kit
Measuring in at just 80mm tall by 29.5mm in width and 15mm in depth, the weight of the complete device is just 65g, which is ideal for the pocket or purse.
The Teros One is made of aluminium alloy with glass panel’s front and back which tend to be finger print magnets.
There are two parts, the body and plastic refillable 2 ml pod.
The device has been designed well, it’s sturdy and compact with remarkable build quality.
Teros One Battery
Under the hood we have a 650mAh integrated battery.
The highest wattage output has not been stated in the documentation, although it says the device will fire on 3 settings high, medium and low.
Looking into the top of the device where the pod sits, you will see 2 small gold plated springy contact points, 2 magnets and 2 small airflow valves.
The back of the device is plain with a slight patterning and has a unique glass panel and a control button.
The Oled lamp within the button changes colour depending on what setting you have it on, the button is also a quick glance battery level indicator!
Like the back of the device like the front has a glass panel with ‘ONE’ branding.
On the bottom of the device is a micro USB-C charge port for fast charging.
Both of the sides of the device are plain – however one side has very faint Joyetech branding.
Joyetech have included in the box a rubberised lanyard that fits around the body of the Teros One rather like SMOK Trinity Alpha, but unlike the Trinity Alpha is simple to place.
Teros Pod
The kit comes with a plastic bottom refillable pod preinstalled in the device.
The pod in my mind, while it has a mesh coil, is a bit of a backwards step as the coil is not replaceable.
Pod Overview
- Mesh 0.5Ω SS316L, rated at 9 to 13w
Joyetech have only included the one pod with the kit. Which mean when the coil reaches the end of its natural life you have to buy another Pod.
It also means you need to be very careful not to burn the coil after filling. More on that below.
The Pod is made of gray plastic (PETG) you can see your remaining liquid easily.
It has a metal sleeved base that marries to the magnets within the body of the Teros One.
The fill port is different to most pod systems being spring loaded rather than a plug. It really making this pod super easy to fill.
We have seen pods very similar to this before off the top of my head the Renova Zero for one. If you look at the bottom of the pod you will see the spring loaded fill port and connection points.
The airflow is located on the bottom of the pod and the pod doesn’t have adjustable airflow.
The mouthpiece is very comfortable in the mouth.
Coil details have been stamped onto the metal sleeve along with a serial number.
Also you will note that the normal safety marks have been moulded into the side of the plastic body.
The pod seems to be quite sturdy and forgiving of rough handling. The manufacture and design quality are good!
The magnets that hold the pod into the body are strong and hold the pod in the body well.
Although the pod has a wee bit of movement to it when in place it didn’t interfere with the vaping experience received.
How Does Joyetech Teros One Kit Perform?
Basic Quick Start Guide
Let’s set the Teros One up for use!
When filling the pod with liquid I do recommend you tip the pod slightly!
Filling the Pod from new
- Turn the pod upside down and press the nib of your bottle into the spring loaded fill port.
- Squeeze your bottle until the pod is full.
- Wipe away any excess liquid.
- Place the pod into the Teros One device.
Leave the device alone for around 2 or 3 minutes to allow the coil to soak up liquid.
Teros One Battery Settings
Make sure the battery is fully charged before use!
5 Rapid clicks on the function button will turn the device on and off a green light will flash.
The device has 3 power settings. Press the power button 3 times successively to adjust the power in 3 optional levels.
- Green – high power
- Blue – medium power
- Red – Low power
Battery power level
As the battery power degrades the colour of the LED changes
- Green 100 – 60%
- Blue 60 – 30%
- Red 29 – 0%
Battery Protections
- 10s timeout
- over charge
- short circuit
- over discharge
Flavour and Vapour Production
For this example I have fill the Pod up with Pecanilla Large Salts by All Vape, which we reviewed not long ago.
Starting with the lowest power setting “Red”, while the vapour production was nothing to write home about the flavour was quite acceptable.
The “Blue” setting was better for me the vapour production was much thicker and the flavour was good.
“Green” setting or the highest setting resulted in very good vapour production for a pod system with a more than acceptable flavour!
None of the above settings produced hot vapour in fact the lowest setting for me was rather cool.
Recommended E-Liquid to use with the Joyetech Teros One
- 50/50 PG/VG E-liquid with nicotine up to 18mg
- Nicotine salt 20mg
- See some of our best rated vape juice brands.
Airflow
I don’t know how Joyetech have done this but with each power mode the airflow seems tighter. i.e. Green was the loosest, at first I thought it was my imagination but Mrs J concurred with me!
I was able to get a fair Direct to Lung (DTL) draw with both the Green and Blue settings and a good Mouth to Lung (MTL) draw with both the Red and Blue settings.
Thoughts
Battery life is fairly good, I have managed approx 4hrs on low power.
Joyetech say 30 minutes charge time from flat – my experience was 45 minutes charge time.
Be careful not to drop the device or you may find the front and back glass panels become damaged.
One thing that really bugs me about 2ml tanks and pods is the amount of times I have to refill the darn things! I timed the approx liquid usage of a full pod,
- Low power (Red) nearly 5hrs
- Med power (Blue) 2hrs 40mins
- High power (Green) 1hr 30mins
Of course I am a heavy vaper and tend to chain vape a lot so these times can be classed as subjective.
Speaking for myself I am more than happy to vape this unit on the Blue setting most of the time.
Because the coil is not replaceable (I really wish they had included 2 Pods in the kit) I looked into the cost of replacements. At the time of writing they sell for £6.99 a pack, each pack contains two pods.
Joyetech have included an empty bottle with the kit so if you have a glass dropper or a short nib just fill this one up easy!
Pros
- Quality is very good
- Design is good
- Manufacture is very good
- Great Colour selection
- Easy to use
- Good battery life (on low power)
- Coil life is good (mine still going after 9 days)
- Good flavour
- Fair vapour production
- Fairly cheap retail price
Cons
- Only one pod included
- None replaceable coils
- No indication what the wattage is being pushed through the coil
Final Review Verdict
The Joyetech Teros One had got my attention right from opening the box. It’s a good looking, tiny device.
While the Teros One will never break any barriers as far as vape production is concerned, the flavour and portability of the kit is sure to make it a good choice for those just giving up the cigarettes.
Would I Recommend the Teros One Kit?
For those looking for a stealthy small device or those just giving up smoking “Yes”
Would I Buy The Joyetech Teros One Kit Again Due to Loss or Damage?
For me personally “No” I still prefer my SMOK Nord, but the wife loves it and has already claimed this one as hers.
Did you buy the Teros One? We would love to hear your thoughts or indeed any questions you may have in the comments below.
