New on the scene is the IUOC Heating Kit.
This is made by the brand Shenzhen Yukan Technology – which I haven’t heard of either.
IUOC according to the website stands for “I Use Ordinary Cigarette”.
Anyway Heat not Burn products basically use tobacco and heat it to the point where it can be smoked like a cigarette but full combustion does not occur. Which apparently is safer than combustible cigarettes.
Now there are a few of these devices about – the IQOS is the most well known. The IQOS uses small inserts called “Heets” are basically small packages of tobacco which are put into the device.
The IUOC device however says it will use standard tobacco cigarettes and heat those – which should be cheaper than buying the Heets.
The device has an internal 2900mAh battery and will heat the tobacco to 350°C.
Heat not Burn products are very controversial and their safety and marketing tactics are still on rocky ground.
But this could be an alternative which may be attractive to smokers.
As devices go this could be a good one, there are apparently 30 patents granted for this as being a new kind of device.
The colours I have seen for sale are Black, Red and Silver.

The price of this has just made me drop my drink!
Yep its expensive, however this is a similar price to its rival the IQOS – but with the IUOC you can use standard cigarettes not pricey Heets inserts.
I am not sold on this kit, but it could be good for people who want an alternative.
What do you think? Let me know in the comments below!
This will definitely NOT work in UK where the cost of a packet cigarettes is triple than the rest of Europe. Example, Marlboro Gold £13.40. However a packet of Heets is £5 and iqos offer trials for £29 for a Dual.
Go figure.
