This time I’m taking a look at the recently released Innokin Coolfire Z60, a nicely weighted kit that has a clean look to it with a large battery that can last more than a day!
This kit comes with the new Zlide Top tank, which is an updated and redesigned version of the popular and original Zlide tank.
Founded in 2011 and based in China, Innokin is considered by many to be the granddaddy of vaping, their history of research and manufacture is impressive!
Some of their kits include – the Gozee Kit, Kroma 217 Z Force and Endura T22 Pro.
Innokin is also a market leader in MTL tank design, with successes like Ares 2 MTL RTA and Zenith Pro tank in their catalogue.
What Can We Expect From the Innokin Coolfire Z60 Kit?
Every element of the Coolfire Z60 kit is crafted from premium materials and has the unmistakable feeling of Innokin quality!
The Coolfire Z60 has a variable wattage output of up to 60W.
There is a lock switch to put the device to sleep saving power and preventing accidental activation and interesting firing modes that help to preserve the coil.
The new Zlide Top tank is optimised for mouth-to-lung and restricted direct-to-lung vaping; with sliding top fill and top airflow to give leak-free assurance.
This tank is compatible with all Z coils including Innokin’s new Duoprime coils, delivering a huge range of vaping experiences!

Innokin Z60 Kit Build Quality
Both the Z60 mod and the Zlide Top tank are made from Zinc Alloy and Stainless Steel.
The whole Z60 Kit has been well manufactured with a clean modern look and feel, with excellent quality and design!
Innokin – Zlide Top Tank
Primarily the Zlide Top tank is a restricted direct-to-lung (RDL) tank with the option to be used as a mouth-to-lung (MTL) tank when the airflow is reduced enough! We tell you what these terms mean in our Guide To Vaping Styles.
My 2ml tank had the new MTL 0.6Ω Duoprime coil installed and there’s a spare RDL 0.3Ω coil in the box!
The kit also comes with a spare 510 mouthpiece which is wider than the installed MTL Delrin 510 mouthpiece. Also included are some O-rings and a silicone fill stopper.
The airflow is fully adjustable and has a nice smooth airflow control ring!
The tank dismantles into 6 parts – including the mouthpiece and coil.
To access the fill port find the arrow embossed on the top of the cap, simply push the slide open!
The base cap has advertising engraved into the metal sides “Innokin” and “Zlide Top” and unscrews for coil replacement. As normal the printed design info and safety marks are on the bottom.
Two plug-and-play coils have been included with the kit –
- Z Coil 0.6Ω 9-13W Duoprime MTL –
The outer layer of mesh is of higher resistance than the inner coil, which means it heats slowly. This design draws e-liquid into the wicking material and the inner coil rapidly.
Duoprime coils maintain full saturation between each vape which helps performance and longevity! - Z Coil 0.3Ω 30 – 40W RDL
The Zlide Top tank is compatible with the complete Z Coil Platform series.
Innokin Coolfire Z60 Mod
This device measures 75mm tall or approximately 130mm with the tank in place. The 510 connection can take other atomisers with diameters of up to 25mm.
From The Top
The Z60 has a Stainless Steel 510 connection and a Gold-plated spring-loaded pin, the threading has been well-turned.
Innokin Z60 Body
Surrounding the connection is a Stainless Steel cap giving the device a dual colour body!
On one side of the device, there is the printed advertising “Coolfire Z60”.
Innokin Z60 Workface
The device has a colour OLED screen that measures 0.96”, it displays all the normal info you’d expect to see and the screen is clean and bright.
The device has a plastic fire button and adjustment buttons that are quite clicky.
The internal battery is 2500mAh and is charged via the 1.7A Type C USB port.
On the bottom of the device, you will see the safety and design marks along with a reassessed battery switch, which is common to a lot of previous Coolfire devices!

How Does the Innokin Z60 Kit Perform?
For this review, I will be filling both Zlide Top tanks with Mejusa “Berry Lemonade”.
For MTL, I will be using the Silver mod with the installed 0.6Ω Duoprime coil and for RDL I will use the Purple mod with the 0.3Ω Z coil.
I’m not going to say I’m in love with this kit, however it does function exactly as it’s described. It fits my style of vaping fine with the 0.3Ω Z coil.
With the Zlide Top airflow restricted to a ¼ open I received a good MTL vape from the 0.6Ω Duoprime coil with a decent flavoursome vape at 12W.
Opening the airflow for an RDL draw and using the 0.3Ω coil, setting the wattage to 35W I received a good flavour and plenty of vapour.
Coil & Battery Performance
I have been using these kits for almost 2 weeks!
The 0.6Ω Duoprime coil as an MTL with coil+ mode active at 12W is still going ok, although I am expecting to have to change it shortly!
The 0.3Ω Z Coil DTL coil lasted me just about 4 days at 30/35W on standard wattage mode – mind you, I’ve hit this one quite hard at times LOL.
The 2500mah battery used as an MTL device is excellent lasting me almost 1½ days! And as an RDL device, the Z60 battery lasted me approx 3.5 hours at 35W.
I have got to say when I was first sent this kit I wasn’t that impressed with the coil+ mode, as it makes a slight firing sound when you let the button go. What the unit is doing is pulling more liquid into the coil for the next puff thereby keeping the coil saturated and extending its life.
I found that the standard wattage mode didn’t make this noise which pleased my OCD highly LOL
Pros
- Quality and Design are very good
- Great battery life (MTL)
- Fair battery life (RDL)
- Comfortable in the hand
- Duoprime coils are long-lasting
- Good flavour
- Good Vapour Production
Cons
- Coil+ mode noise
- 2ml capacity (not a fault of the kit – that is down to TPD regulations!)
Final Review Verdict
Although the Zlide Top tank allows for a great mouth-to-lung vape with the airflow turned down, this is much more of a restricted direct-to-lung tank which fits my vape style wonderfully!
I did find myself using the kit in standard wattage mode a lot because the Coil+ mode makes a firing noise which sets off my OCD lol.
Would I recommend the Innokin Z60 Kit?
“Yes”, this kit would be suitable for all levels of vape experience!
Would I buy this kit again due to loss or damage?
“Yes”, I would consider replacing the kit.
Let us know what you think of the Innokin Coolfire Z60 kit in the comments below!
Does using the 0.6 ohm coils at the stated 12W produce a good amount of cloud? Also do you need to go up in incrimants when placing a new coil in?
Great review. Thank you very much. I was contemplating purchasing the Coolfire Z60 and after reading your comprehensive review I am now looking around for the best deal as the Z60 will definitely be my next purchase to add to my collection and I imagine my go to daily use vape.
