Today I’ve got my hands on the iJoy LIO Nano X disposable vapes.
LIO is the iJoy brand of atomisation technology designed to transform the lives of billions of smokers worldwide. It’s hoped the technology is embraced so that life can become more beautiful.
..Dunno about that last part but I do know that iJoy are still busy taking care of hardware including pod kits and Mods, while the LIO brand is heavily focussed on disposable vapes.
Having said that iJoy themselves have recently released their first disposable, the PUNK.
It seems Mods have influenced the shape of the LIO range of disposables as well. You only have to look at the LIO CAPO, BOXX and COMMA for proof of that.
So let’s take a look.
What Can We Expect From the iJoy LIO Nano X Disposable Vapes?
Probably one of the thinnest disposable vapes you’re likely to find in the UK or EU?
By thin, I mean 6.5mm. However, it’s also quite long at 110mm. So it’s not the most comfortable disposable I’ve ever used. Nor is it particularly discreet looking.
With a 2ml juice capacity and 20mg salt nicotine content, the LIO Nano X is fully TPD compliant. From what I can gather there are no other nicotine strengths currently available.
The LIO Mini includes a 1.0ohm vertical Nichrome coil and it looks like the Nano X uses the same.
It’s made from Aluminium Alloy (main shell) and PCTG (mouthpiece, lower end) and at 25g weighs next to nothing.
..It really does feel like I’ve grabbed the handle of a Spatula! Or a wooden stick.
So as with most disposables, the iJoy LIO Nano X uses auto draw and is set up for a MTL (Mouth To Lung) vape through the narrow opening on the mouthpiece.
The coil is powered by an integrated 500mAh battery and is said to work to a consistent 12W output. Expect the battery to last for anything up to 600 puffs.
It’s stated on the back of the carton that the E-juice ratio is 40VG/60PG.
When it comes to the range of 12 flavours we’ve something of an eclectic mix. Choose from Tobacco, Fruit, Mint, Sweets, Bakery and Egg Tart! Sadly omitted from the ones for review.
..Sadly. Maybe. lol

As always use my thoughts as a rough guide as to what to expect.
My nose may be bigger than yours and your tongue may be larger than mine. You get the picture.
I couldn’t find any flavour descriptions at the time of writing so I’m going in with eyes wide shut. Wish me luck..
Aloe Grape
I Say:
Unfortunately it’s the same synthetic, artificial taste of Grape you’ll either love or loathe. We aren’t getting any surprises. Then again, I never set expectations too high when it comes to this flavour profile.
It is a consistent flavour, though and maintains a good balance throughout the exhale. Luckily there’s not too much in the way of sweetener either.
I’m just very much reminded of a candy like rendition of Grape.
From what I gather, Aloe is characterised by its bitter, citrusy qualities. None of which are evident here.
The level of Menthol is set to tolerable levels but still manages to amplify what is a very unnatural taste.
It’s not for me.
Banana Ice
I Say:
Not a bad version of the soft, bendy fruit. It’s more akin to an unripe version of Banana because there’s none of the caramelisation, none of the added sweetness.
The taste is quite broad and not over concentrated, leaning ever so slightly towards the foam sweet variety were it not for that reduction in sweetness.
So that does make Banana Ice quite enjoyable.
However as with most disposables there’s far too much emphasis on that cold, icy inhale. On the Sting-o-meter scale it registers to a value of 8 so get used to its dominance throughout the exhale.
Cool Mint
I Say:
Much more tolerable than I was expecting but for all the wrong reasons. The sweetener has been reduced and it’s not so noticeable on the initial inhale.
On this occasion the Menthol content does its utmost to bring the Mint to life yet still fails. Regarding the Mint – It’s somewhat underplayed.
There’s none of the bright, crisp taste usually associated and I have a hard time deciding between a spearmint or a peppermint. One thing’s for sure. It certainly isn’t lifted from the organic, leafy type.
Again, expectations shouldn’t really be set too high when it comes to disposables but I’m left feeling this profile is unfinished business. Whatever the version of Mint, it doesn’t work very well alongside the Menthol.
I’m left underwhelmed by Cool Mint, unfortunately.
Rainbow Candy
I Say:
This has the strongest aroma out of the bunch when it comes to releasing from the vacuum sealed bag.
The only stand out flavour I get from Rainbow Candy is Orange with possibly a few subtle citrusy back notes of Lemon.
The sweetness of the vape isn’t exaggerated and that’s a good thing but the Menthol content once again eclipses overall flavour quality.
What flavour we get is broad and balanced though and does hold up well throughout exhale. It’s actually one of those rare occasions where concentration and saturation could be improved. From a disposable? Dare I write that? lol
As far as candy is concerned I am reminded to a lesser extent of the skittles sweets, minus the saliva inducing properties.
However, the same sweetness produced on the lips is evident – it just appears towards the end of the vape.
Overall, Rainbow Candy is a half decent vape. It’s likeable enough.
Strawberry Kiwi
I Say:
A slightly harsh vape given it’s using nicotine salt, renowned for its smoothness.
There’s something severely lacking with Strawberry Kiwi and that is ‘oomph’.
The flavour comes across as muddied and short on flavour quality. It’s one of those ‘back of the box’ type vapes where flavour separation isn’t a thing.
That doesn’t stop the incessant drive of the Menthol – Doesn’t stop its relentless icy grip throughout the exhale and to this end throws flavour quality out even further.
So in terms of actual flavour what I pick out is a musky, slightly harsh tasting Banana. This version feels like it’s been gathering dust for want of a better description.
There’s an unpleasant musky taste generated towards the end of exhale and mixes with a few trace notes of synthesised Strawberry. That Strawberry effect does nothing to save this one I’m afraid.
I’ve tasted much better versions.
Battery Performance and Number of Vapes
I got 5 hours continuous use from the disposables. With my vaping patterns and even taking into account chain vaping on occasion, 360 – 400 puffs falls woefully short of the number suggested.
Although short on uptime, the battery did perform well. It always delivered a consistent enough flavour throughout the life span and the pre soaked coil kept hammering out the taste.
Final Review Verdict
The iJoy LIO Nano X disposables are ok. The flavours do hold up well throughout exhale but once again and all too often Menthol rules the vape. It’s not as if it’s mentioned in all the flavour titles either so that’s something to maybe take note of.
A few of the flavours were under whelming, tasting incomplete but at least sweetness levels were realistically applied.
They will provide a very decent MTL vaping experience and I never noticed juice welling up into the mouthpiece. Vapour production is also healthy from such a low powered coil. It’s cigarette like and stealthy enough to pull off a few cheeky vapes wherever you see fit.
There’s no need for disposables to carry these dimensions. I get that iJoy are trying to stand out from other disposables on the market but the shape means they’re not that comfortable in the hand. This made me conscious of using it at all times.
.. Still. Would’ve loved to try that Egg Tart flavour!
