The iJoy Jupiter is the brands answer to this relatively new style of pod mod that has been covered by some of the biggest names in vape.
So let’s batten the hatches and blast off with a look at this new kit from IJoy!
Shenzhen IJOY Technology Co.ltd, for those that don’t know, have been around the vape scene for a good number of years bringing us many vape kits!
Mods like – Shogun JR, Mystique, Shogun UNIV Mod, and atomisers like Avenger SubOhm Tank, EXO RTA, and pod kits like the Mercury AIO, Neptune pod kit and the Luna Pod Kit both of which we reviewed not long ago.
What Can We Expect From the IJoy Jupiter Pod Kit?
Carrying on with a type of planet name inspired theme like the Luna pod kit, IJoy have named and launched their newest device the Jupiter Pod kit.
With the newest trend of more powerful Pod Mods IJoy have jumped on this bandwagon.
How well they have done remains to be seen!
First a quick explanation between Pod Kits and Pod Mods. The first tend to be a mouth to lung low power devices, with no screen and manly have cartridges with coils sealed into them.
Pod Mods on the other hand tend to be much more powerful with screens menus and lots of options available, these also generally cater to those looking for a direct to lung sub ohm vaping experience with replaceable coils.
We have an overabundance of good and not so good pod kits are on the market these days. I’d place the IJoy Jupiter in the middle of this range (not great, not terrible). Good looks are, as they say, very much in the eye of the beholder although the device is comfortable in hand and well built.
With up to 70 watts of power available, the Jupiter is not as powerful as some of the newer Pod Mods kits out there, devices such as the Voopoo Vinci X pod mod or the Smok RPM 80.
However the Jupiter does have its saving graces such as the screen which is bright and colourful featuring lots of info. The added advantage of replaceable 18650 batteries is very handy while out and about and the pod/cartages have a good 5ml fill capacity, unless you are in TPD ruled countries of course.
IJoy have released this kit with eight different colour options.

So what are my thoughts on the IJoy Jupiter Pod Kit? Will it take me to another planet? Will it make the list of my best pod mod vapes?
Let’s go and take a close up look at the full kit and find out!

Design and Build Quality
The Jupiter Kit comes well presented in a card box with a paper over sleeve, as you can see I was sent the gun metal design!
IJoy Jupiter Pod Mod Kit
Measuring in with a height of 117mm tall and 25.5mm in width! When all put together for use the device is a nice handful.
The body of the device is made of aluminium zinc alloy with leather and rubber; the mod has a slightly rounded feel to the back, while the front is more of a square shaped.
With a bright 0.96 Inch colour TFT screen is has lots of information packed on it.
Included with the kit I received is 1 x 5ml pod cartage and 2 coils.
Both the battery case and the pod are good quality. The design has been well done with a good feel in the hand.
Jupiter Battery Case
One of the saving graces for me is that IJoy have made this unit to take a single 18650 battery, the battery cap can be found on the bottom of the device, it is a simple screw on screw off cap! The threads are ok, although mine are a little crunchy.
The Jupiter has a power range of 5 to 70w.
IJoy has used their UNIV Chipset inside the device. This chipset can also be found in their Shogun UNIV Mod, the device promises to be safe stable and intelligent with a quick fire.
Within the clean pod bay you will see 3 small gold plated spring loaded contact points and 4 magnets; the bay is shallow compared to other Pod Mods in this category.
To each side of the pod bay you will see 3 airflow holes.
With leather padded sticker on the back of the device.
Also you will see on each side of the device a rubber sticker; these are for comfort as well as anti slippage!
Bottom of the device has a round screw in battery door, the door has the normal branding and safety marks printed along with 4 vent holes.
Inside the case you will see a red cross for your battery orientation and a gold plated contact pin. iJoy have lined inside the casing with a protective plastic sheath for protection against battery shorts.
Workface
When the device comes new you will find it has a screen protector over it.
It’s face has a fire and 2 adjustment button, made of metal.
Below the adjustment buttons you have a micro USB port for charging.
The 0.96 inch TFT colour screen is clean, bright and includes all the normal information that one might expect to find on a standard mod. The screen for me, however, has a cluttered look.
IJoy Jupiter Pod
Included with the kit is 1 plastic bottom fill pod/cartage!
The Pod is not pre installed into the device but they have installed 1 of the 2 coils into the pod.
Coils supplied with the kit are ‘plug and play’ and require the supplied adaptor to be screwed on to the coil before use.
- J1 0.2 Ohm Mesh Coil (40 to 70w) direct to lung
- J2 0.6 Ohm Mesh Coil (20 to 30w) restricted direct to lung
Made as one piece of PETG, ¾’s of the tank is black plastic topped off with a plastic mouth piece.
On the base of the pod you will see a large hole for your coil along with 4 strong magnets that match up to those in the body of the device, there is no movement to the pod!
Also on the bottom is the fill port there is a good fitting rubber bung!
Because ¾’s of the tank is black plastic it is hard to see your remaining liquid although there is a small viewing window at the front of the mod when connected.
For airflow there is 3 slots either side of the plastic pod.
How Does IJoy Jupiter Pod Mod Perform?
With this example I have fill the Pod up with Ohm Baked Apricot Roulade, I will also using the J1 0.2Ω Mesh Coil then switching out to the 0.6Ω later.
Basic Quick Start Guide
When changing out your coil I recommend emptying the pod/tank first!
- Screw on the adaptor
- With the pod upside down insert coil and fill with your liquid, firmly re-seat the plug.
- Place the pod into the Jupiter device.
Leave the device alone for around 2 or 3 minutes so the cotton to soak up more liquid.
Jupiter Battery Settings
Place an 18650 battery into the device noting the battery orientation!
- 5 rapid clicks on the fire button will turn the device on and off.
- Press the fire button and the up button to lock and unlock the device.

Flavour and Vapour Production
J1 0.2Ohm Coil
I was impressed with the amount of vapour and flavour produced at 40 to 50W.
Taking the device to 60w produced a hot vape with lots of vapour although the flavour was somewhat lacking. So with the 0.2Ω coil I will be aiming for 50 to 55w in future as this gives me the best balance.
J2 0.6Ω coil
Again I was impressed with the flavour and vapour quality with this coil. I started at 25w and pushed the coil to 30w with no problem.
Airflow
While this is most defiantly a direct to lung device, it is quite airy draw with the 0.2Ω coil, the 0.6Ω coil on the other hand does have a nice bit of tension enabling me to enjoy a slightly tighter DTL draw.
Battery Life
I really love the fact that like the VooPoo Vinci X you can swap the battery on the fly whilst out and about.
Using an avatar 2100Mah 18650 battery in the Jupiter I got 2.5 hours of vape time at 50w.
While the battery can be charged in the unit via the Micro USB I tend to use my external charger!
The UNIV chipset is quite fast you do get an instant fire; the adjustment scroll isn’t the fastest in the world.
I have no complaints at all with the fill capacity of the pod. 5ml’s lasted me most of the day at 30w with the 0.6Ω coil.
This kit is available in the EU and I presume the pod size will be 2ml I couldn’t find any info in that respect.
Pros
- Good design and quality
- Fast chipset
- Good airflow
- Good flavour up to 55w
- Great vapour production
- Simple to understand with no learning curve
- Cheap retail price
Cons
I have no concerns with this kit! But if being picky:
- No adjustable airflow
- Screen is overflowing with too much info
- Adjustment scroll is slow
- Slightly crunchy battery threading
Final Review Verdict
I can’t say the colour of my Jupiter floats my boat, it is a nice and comfortable hand full, the size is pocket friendly; it’s fast to fire and allows for good flavour and vapour production, the adjustment scroll could be faster but that really is personal.
Would I recommend the IJoy Jupiter?
“Yes” it would make a decent 2nd carry around mod or for those that are looking for a bit more power!
Would I buy this kit again due loss or damage?
For me personally “No” not that I think this kits isn’t good, I just have other kits that are a better fit for me!
