The Combo SRDA by iJoy Previewed
The iJoy Combo SRDA is a new RDA tank but with a twist…
Now with this you get a pre-made coil pack – however it is a RDA style- so you only need to change the cotton yourself – not the coil head.
The 0.13 ohm coil pack is included in the kit, but you can also purchase a 0.1ohm coil – SRDA-CF which can be run at higher power (50-100W).
The tank also has an adjustable side airflow control. The package also contains a Squonk pin so you can convert this to a bottom feed tank for Squonker mods.
As standard with a lot of new tanks you do get the Ultem yellow drip tip (urgh – shudder).
There are 7 beautiful colours to choose from: Gold, Black, Stainless Steel, Green, Rainbow, Gun Metal and Orange.
So this is a weird hybrid between a tank where you replace the whole coil head and an RDA where you change the coil and wicking yourself.
I assume when the coil does die eventually you just replace the coil pack and re-wick and away you go? So a “semi-rebuildable”?
Actually in that last sentence a light bulb appeared above my head – SRDA = Semi Rebuildable Dripping Atomiser… All makes sense now!

What an odd design idea this was?
The point of a rebuildable is so you can save money and waste by replacing only the components you need – rather than buying a coil head and throwing it away.
This hybrid design is kind of confusing me.
I don’t know – I suppose it is a slightly lower maintenance RDA – but I don’t understand who would use this?
Would you buy the iJoy Combo SRDA? Or indeed any ‘Semi Rebuildable’ tank? Or just stick to either coil heads or fully rebuildables? Let me know your thoughts in the comments below!
I’ve been using it for a few weeks along with the Ijoy Capo and I have to say it’s great. The SRDA’s are about £4 each, and the coils will last 6 to 10 weeks. You don’t seem to have to rewick as much as a traditional RDA either. In fact, I didn’t rewick for 2 weeks with the first coil. Then after that it was once a week. On my Dead Rabbit I rewick every other day.
I’ve tried RDA’s & RTA’s a couple of times and although the improved flavour is good I don’t find it worth the hassle of rebuilding as I really didn’t enjoy it so I guess I’m the target market for this device along with those who want to take baby steps into rebuilding.
New heads come pre-wicked so it is really plug and play and for the really lazy vaper who can’t even be bothered to re-wick, they could just stick a new head on each time the cotton is beat. I haven’t seen the prices for the heads yet so I don’t know how cost effective that would be.
Hi Peter!
Yeh I was initially quite sceptical about the “semi” RDA, deck, but after looking at the iJoy Captain Elite RTA the idea has grown on me!
The Elite uses these heads plus you have the option for a more orthodox deck too – which I think I would like – beauty of full rebuildable but a semi rebuildable when feeling lazy or short of time etc.
