Hellvape are back, with an addition to their existing Hellbeast range, with their usual flair for hellish vapour. This time they have released a Sub Ohm stock coil tank called the Hellbeast 2!
Based in China, Hellvape were established in 2016 and let’s be frank the company needs no introduction to the wider vaping community. They are most famously known for their Dead Rabbit range of RDA and RTAs!
The Hellbeast range includes the Hellbeast RDA and original Hellbeast tank!
What Can We Expect From the Hellvape Hellbeast 2 Sub Ohm Tank?
I’m excited to be looking at this new version mainly because I heard such great things about the original version!
As a side note, I really enjoyed using the Hellbeast RDA when I owned it but silly me I left it on a train, and never got around to ordering another!
Hellvape Hellbeast RDA
The Hellbeast 2 sub ohm tank is a 24mm atomizer, which has a fairly unique top airflow. I have seen this type of RTA airflow by another company, it wasn’t top draw, but let’s see if Hellvape have nailed it with theirs!
This tank has a large 3.5ml liquid capacity with a spare 5ml bubble glass and incorporates the use of the new Hellvape P7 coils. The fill cap is a ¼ turn making filling a breeze!
Included is an extra coil, O-rings as well as the 5ml bubble glass!
Hellvape have released 5 colour options: Blue, SS (Stainless Steel), Matte Black, Gunmetal and Gold.
The Hellbeast 2 Tank was sent to me directly by Hellvape the purpose of review.

Design and Build Quality
The Hellvape Hellbeast 2 sub ohm tank has a great design and is built using quality materials alongside high manufacturing standards. Like many of Hellvape products the Hellbeast 2 is substantially built – this one weighs a hefty at 71g when empty!
I was sent the Standard Gunmetal version of the Tank, so my review is based on this version. The TPD version is made to the same specs as the Standard, but comes with a reduced 2ml liquid capacity!
The tank comes nicely displayed in a card box that has a paper over sleeve.
This tank is primarily constructed of 304 Stainless Steel with Pyrex glass and Delrin.
Hellvape Hellbeast 2 Sub Ohm Tank – Overview
Breaking the Hellbeast V2 down into its components, it has 7 parts including the mouthpiece, coil and airflow ring!
Starting from the top
There is a wide bore 810 Delrin drip tip that has an anti-condensation system, which is proven to be effective in stopping condensation and spitting. It’s moulded with a lip within the mouthpiece, this encourages any liquid or condensation to drip back to the coil.
The top cap is solidly made of Stainless Steel with a ¼ turn design, the side of the cap has notches cut into the edges to facilitate easy removal for filling of the tank.
The cap has an O-ring in place to hold the mouthpiece.
On the reverse side of the cap you will see the connection bayonets on the chimney – these connect the cap to the body of the tank.
When removed the top cap reveals both kidney shaped fill port slots and they sit within a removable silicone gasket.
Around the outside of this section is an O-ring for the adjustable airflow ring to sit over the two wide airflow slots and below is another O-ring for glass to sit around.
Body and Airflow
The main chimney section is mostly hidden within the top part of the body section but will mate nicely with the plug and play coils.
The internal airflow is enclosed within 2 wide sleeves running from the top of the main body to its base. Airflow will hit the bottom airflow slot of the coil to then travel the coil length to produce vapour.
For advertising, one of the airflow sleeves has the Hellbeast logo printed in white along with the word “Hellbeast”.
Between the top airflow ring and base of the tank is the installed 3.5ml straight glass, which is easily swapped for the spare 5ml bubble glass.
The bottom of the tank is obviously where the coil plugs into the tank, around the coil space is well turned threading for the connection base to screw onto!
The base has a 3 pronged gold plated connection pins inside.
On the outside of the base, like the airflow ring is decorated with a knurling effect to help with turning.
The bottom of the base has a non adjustable gold plated pin with well turned stainless steel 510 threading.
Hellvape have printed all the normal safety marks, tank name as well as the Hellvape logo in white.
Coils
The kit comes with two stock coils both being P7-02, 0.2Ω Kanthal Mesh Coils
The coils are available in packs of 3 – with two different resistances 0.15Ω and 0.2Ω.
These coils are not compatible with the original version of the Hellbeast!
How Does the Hellbeast 2 Sub Ohm Tank Perform?
For this review I’m going to use the Hellbeast 2 with my OBS Engine 100w with the 5ml bubble glass installed and one of the 0.2Ω coils.
For E-Liquid I’m use Mr Wicks “Twisted POP E-liquid, it’s a fruity and creamy ice cream Lolly!
A Quick Setup Tutorial
- Unscrew the 510 base and remove the installed 0.2Ω coil
- Prepare the coil for use by dripping a few drops of e-liquid on all exposed cotton
- Push the coil back into the tank and screw back on the tank base
- Remove the ¼ turn fill cap and fill the tank with e-liquid
- Replace the cap and screw the tank onto your mod
Don’t fire the tank just yet!
Leave it for 2 or 3 minutes so the cotton can soak up more liquid!
Hellvape Hellbeast 2 Sub Ohm Tank in Use
This atomiser is turning into one of my all day toppers, I can fill up the 5ml tank and not worry about refilling for a few hours.
Hellvape have called this one the flavour beast and they aren’t kidding! The flavour is rather good! While I’m not normally into stock tanks the vapour this tank can produce is comparable to some of the better RDA/RTA’s I own!
Primarily the Hellbeast 2, is as its name suggests is mainly for sub ohm vaping, therefore a direct to lung style works best with it. But saying that the airflow is adjustable and I have been getting a really great flavoursome restricted direct to lung draw.
The 0.2Ω coils that come with this kit are projected to be best between 50 to 60W, which is perfect for me as my normal day to day vape is around 55W.
Airflow and Wattage
I found the airflow wasn’t as noisy as some tanks. The flavour produced is almost stellar with an amazing amount of vapour.
My normal chain vape test resulted in a phenomenal amount of vapour enough to fill my small office!
However the tank does get warm while chain vaping, but cools down fairly quickly.
I have been testing the Hellbeast 2 for nearly 3 weeks at various wattage levels, from a low 30W up to the full recommend 60W. Just to be daring I even pushed it for a few toots up to 70W, but had to back down as I detected a slight burnt taste!
I haven’t had any leaks with this tank in the time I have been using it.
Although saying that after a few hours of use I removed the base, I did notice some liquid around the bottom of the coil, nothing a tissue didn’t clear up!

Final Review Verdict
I was very surprised by the Hellbeast 2.
I don’t often find stock coil tanks that have great flavour and vapour production in one package! Well done Hellvape!

I would recommend the Hellbeast 2 it’s a great tank for cloud chasers and those looking for better flavour.
