In for review is the Hellvape Dead Rabbit M RTA!
The Hellvape designers have been at it again – breeding their deceased bunnies! They have teamed up with Vapers Brazil this time.
And are offering us a Sub Ohm 25mm Mesh RTA called the Dead Rabbit M RTA!
Hellvape doesn’t need any introduction to the wider vaping community!
FYI, Hellvape are based in China and have been on the scene since 2016.
While Hellvape is becoming quite prolific in pumping out toppers, they are most famously known for their Dead Rabbit range of RDA and RTA’s.
Over time I have personally reviewed many of their products, BTW I have just finished a review of their Hellbeast 2 Sub Ohm Tank.
What Can We Expect From the Dead Rabbit M RTA?
What’s that old saying “breeding like rabbits”, this is spot on for this company!
It seems the more atomisers they produce the more we get lol, not that that is a bad thing I always look forward to the next deceased bunny release!
The Dead Rabbit M RTA has a dual purpose deck. It will take a mesh strip or allows for a single round coil on its postless ceramic deck.
The easy fill top cap is a ¼ turn, and it has a large fill capacity up to 5ml.
This RTA is bound to be another hopping success for Hellvape!
Hellvape have not stated how many colours of the Dead Rabbit M RTA will be available my guess would be 5 or 6!
This product was sent to me by Hellvape for testing and review.
My thoughts and views are my own after a considerable testing period.

Design and Build Quality
The Dead Rabbit M RTA has great quality and design!
It has been built solidly with quality materials, and like all Hellvape products has been manufactured to high standards!
Hellvape Dead Rabbit M RTA
I was sent a sample of the RTA in Matt Black.
The tank comes nicely displayed in a card box with the extra 5ml bubble glass.
The other extras are found under the foam tray, including – a Multi-functional tool, 2xKA1 and 2xSS316L mesh strips, cotton, O-rings and screws.
Measuring 45mm tall with the mouthpiece and connection thread, the tank diameter is 25mm and weighs around 80g. The construction is 304 Stainless Steel with Pyrex glass and an 810 Delrin mouthpiece.

Breaking the M RTA down, it has 6 components including the mouthpiece and the Airflow Control Ring (AFC).
Starting at the top
The M RTA has a chunky black Delrin 810 mouthpiece.
The cog wheel pattern of the top cap heralds a ¼ turn function, with an embedded O-ring for firm seating of the mouthpiece.
On the reverse side of the cap, you will see the connection slots and on the top part of the chimney an embedded O-ring in the cap helps in the reduction of leaks!
Hellvape Dead Rabbit M RTA Main Body
The chimney, fill port, airflow and coil cover are all one piece.
Fill ports and Airflow control
Removing the top cap you will see 2 fill port slots and looking into this section of the chimney, you will see the connection bayonets that match with the cap.
Around the outer edge of the fill port is a removable airflow ring which has 2 wide slots to each side.
Removing the ring you will see another 2 wide airflow slots. The airflow ring sits on an O-ring and is easily adjusted!
Just under the airflow control is an O-ring for the glass to sit on.
Most of the chimney is hidden by the top sections of the body.
Advertising has been printed onto the metal of the barrel which includes the Dead Rabbit M logo one side and the other has the logo for the Vapers Brazil!
Coil Cover
Looking into the coil cover you will see the bottom end of the airflow which consists of 18 honeycomb holes on each side.
With the barrel slightly domed any condensation or liquid will run back to the cotton and this section also has threading inside.
Situated between the airflow and deck, is a Pyrex tube. The capacity is 3ml or 5ml with the spare and they are very easy to change over.
Build Deck
Simply unscrew the build deck from the main structure.
The build deck for this RTA is a single Mesh/Coil postless design.
In the centre of the build deck is a spring-loaded ceramic plate. To each side are wire blocks, which are operated by a single Philips screw for each block to mount your Mesh or Coil. The blocks have a spring behind them so be careful not to fully unscrew them!
The positive wire slots sit within a peek insulator box-like structure. BTW I took the deck apart and had a devil’s job of reassembling it again lol.
Like all RTA’s this one has two wicking slots that hold the cotton tails – in my mind they are a little shallow but they do get the job done!
Also around the wicking slot ring you will see threading for connection to the barrel.
The base has an embedded O-ring that the bottom of the glass will sit on!
On the sides of the deck base is a cog-like pattern that matches the top cap!
Looking at the bottom of the build deck, you will see Hellvape have printed all the normal safety marks along with the Hellvape+ logo and the name of the RTA.
The 810 connection gold-plated pin protrudes just enough that I’m happy to recommend the use on a mechanical device!
How Does the Hellvape Dead Rabbit M RTA Perform?
Today I’m using this deceased bunny on my Platinum Voopoo Drag 2!
Using one of the strips of the included KA1 0.25Ω Mesh strips, I will also be using is Kwik Vape “Cherry Bakewell”.
A Basic Guide to building the Dead Rabbit M RTA
- You can if you wish pre-bend the Mesh strip using the multi-tool. I prefer to simply slip one end into the slot tighten down and then carefully bend the strip over and into the other slot.
- Insert cotton, comb and fluff it.
- Tuck the cottontails into the wick slots, making sure not to over-stuff as this will strangle the liquid getting to the Mesh. Also make sure the cotton isn’t obstructing the tank threading.
- Dampen the cotton with e-liquid and reassemble the build deck into the tank.
- Remove the top cap and fill it with e-liquid.
- Screw the Dead Rabbit M RTA onto your chosen mod and enjoy!
To use this RTA with standard round coils, I suggest the inner diameter of the coil be 3 to 3.5mm, apart from that treat the RTA as above!
Hellvape Dead Rabbit M RTA in Use
Putting coils or mesh in this RTA is a breeze. I did find that too much cotton strangles the liquid.
Also it’s important not to let the cotton touch the threading ring or you will never get the base back into the main structure lol!
The airflow on this one is very swishy and while the flavour for me wasn’t strictly top notch, it was still very good and the produced cloud was amazing!
In my testing I have been vaping with this RTA using the supplied Kanthal Mesh at 45 to 55W with the airflow fully open!
I’ve tested the RTA with a single 22g Kanthal coil.
While there isn’t a great difference between wire and mesh in either flavour or vapour I prefer to use Mesh with this RTA.
Chain vaping the Dead Rabbit M RTA was a great experience at 50W and I was easily able to fill my small office with vapour!
The tank does get warm while chain vaping it but it soon cooled down!

I have no concerns about the Dead Rabbit M RTA.
Final Review Verdict
This is an easy RTA to build on, whatever your choice of coil.
The Dead Rabbit M RTA is a fine example of design and quality of manufacture by this excellent company!
Would I recommend the Hellvape Dead Rabbit M RTA?
“Yes,” no other words need saying apart from well done Hellvape what a great topper!
Would I buy this tank again due to loss or damage?
Not just a resounding Yes, but a “Hell Yes!”
