Today I’ve been given the opportunity to sample the new Happy Vibes Twist disposable pod system.
Let’s twist again. Like we did last Summer..
The things manufacturers used to do to overcome obstacles imposed by the TPD, eh?
Loopholes as they’re known.
2ml tanks with separate glass tubes to extend E-liquid capacity and nicotine shots for larger bottle sizes being the two main examples.
It’s also never been that clear as to the actual capacity a disposable vape can hold. For example, I carried out a little survey recently and asked if a disposable vape holding 12ml of E-liquid, capable of 6,000 puffs and with 0mg nicotine was legal in the UK and EU.
A few said yes and a few said no but seventy one percent of participants didn’t have a Scooby!
The answer is yes – simply because the E-liquid doesn’t contain nicotine.
So how in the hell does Happy Vibes get away with a disposable vape holding 8ml of 20mg salt nicotine E-liquid?
All will be revealed below.
What Can We Expect From the Happy Vibes Twist Disposable Pod System?
Any disposable vape in the UK and EU will have its E-liquid capacity capped to 2ml where nicotine content is included. It’s the reason why they tend to max out to around 600 puffs.
Happy Vibes have done their basic maths. They’ve included space for four 2ml pods inside their Twist disposables – effectively overcoming the same loop holes as mentioned above.
That’s quite a hefty volume of E-liquid to vape, especially from a device that isn’t rechargeable. So I’m hoping the integrated 1400mAh battery will be up to task as I attempt to get through it all.
Each pod comes with 20mg salt nicotine strength (with no other options currently available) and the mesh coil is said to improve flavour reproduction by up to 80%.
Airflow is fixed so the Twist is designed purely for a MTL vape and vapour production should very much replicate that of the smoke from a cigarette.
Happy Vibes Twist Quick Start Guide
How To Install the Pre-Filled Pods
The device comes with one pod installed. The instructions ask that the remaining three are inserted prior to vaping.
Note – Once the mouthpiece is snapped firmly back on it’s not designed to come off again!
- Remove the mouthpiece
- Insert additional pods into the device
- Ensure the pods are fully seated at the bottom
- Re-attach the mouthpiece
So one thing I noticed was that the additional pods only fit one way (as shown in the in image above). Make sure you’re not trying to force them in – if you are, you’re doing it wrong.
Also ensure they’re pushed all the way down so contact is made with the battery section.
So the idea is quite simple. You vape the first 2ml pod then rotate (twist) the top half of the battery section to move onto the next.
You can pick up the Happy Vibes Twist in a number of different flavours ranging from fruit, sweet and menthol categories.
There’s even the option of purchasing a ‘Day & Night’ version which contains four different flavour pods. Now this is where I think the disposable really shows its mettle.

I want to give a big thanks to Vape Club for sending these over for the purposes of review. It’s very much appreciated.
Blackcurrant Menthol
HV Says:
A tart yet refreshing flavour combining the bold flavour of Blackcurrant with a cool Menthol exhale.
I Say:
That’s a very odd tasting Blackcurrant! It’s a mix between distinct floral tones and what I can only describe as tasting like Turkish Delight.
I’ve often likened Lychee to Turkish Delight.
Personally, it doesn’t even approach the flavour of Blackcurrant. Yes, there are certainly some tart like qualities to the vape and there’s a sensible layering of sweetener. It just doesn’t have the snap or pop of say, Zeus Juice The Black.
I must admit I was expecting something very similar so at least Happy Vibes haven’t gone for a straight up duplication of that well known flavour.
So flavour properties are somewhat subdued here but that doesn’t make it a bad tasting vape by any means. I do actually like it, despite the clear omission of the leading fruit.
The Menthol qualities are also on point. Not too intense and quite soothing on the ‘ole throat and tonsils.
However, it doesn’t match up to expectation and that has to be reflected in the scoring unfortunately.
Blueberry Raspberry
HV Says:
Sweet Blueberries and tart Raspberries combine to make a refreshingly tasty treat that will tantalise your taste buds.
I say:
This is a nice fruity combo.
Its very candy like in terms of flavour output but still quite refreshing thanks to a moderate level of Koolada.
I don’t think either of the fruits dominate and both Blueberry and Raspberry combine in a tasty way.
What also helps is that neither are too intense either. This means I can keep coming back to it without that overriding sickly feeling after each vape.
The exhale does, however carry a bit too much sweetness for my personal tastes and it does stick to the lips a little.
It’s still quite an enjoyable vaping experience, all the same and I would liken this more to a sweets based profile than anything fruit related.
Crazy Blue
HV Says:
Combines a delicious Berry medley with a light Menthol hit for an all round refreshing vape.
I Say:
It’s not really working for me.
Sure, there’s plenty of Menthol (not a light Menthol as stated in the description) that really hits the back of the throat but the overall flavour experience is very muted.
I’d have to say that Blueberry is the main fruit with this one. With the merest hint of Raspberry on the exhale. Above all else is the elevated level of sweetener and that really puts a dampener on things for me.
It takes away what little flavour there actually is.
At times there also appears to be a slight dryness towards the end of the exhale. Again, that does nothing to help with flavour consistency.
Think Koolada, sweetness then flavour in that order an you’re getting some idea of where I’m at with Crazy Blue.
It’s kind of all over the place and doesn’t really click into place for me.
Kiwi Passionfruit Guava
HV Says:
A delightful combination of sweet and sour flavours. On the inhale tart Kiwi tantalise your taste buds which is followed by the aromatic and citrus notes of Passionfruit.
I Say:
Wow! Aroma fest when I crack open the remaining three pods before actually even vaping them!
But it works an absolute treat when it comes to the flavour experience. Everything comes together quite nicely with this fusion of tropical fruits.
Flavour intensity is pitched just right and it’s very consistent throughout exhale. The Passionfruit is tasty (which makes a pleasant change – I normally find it quite dull) and the Kiwi hits home with all the roughness I would expect.
Citrus elements really come into force with Kiwi Passionfruit Guava but there’s also plenty of tartness to drive things along. These elements, combined with a sweet and sour twist are the icing on this particular vape.
I almost forgot to mention the Koolada. Probably because it’s bolted on to this particular flavour profile but it does work, adding an overall freshness to the exhale.
Everything comes together as it should. The overall consistency to this vape is on point. You get everything in the flavour description, put it that way.
Can’t be bad!
Lemon & Lime
HV Says:
Enjoy the tantalising burst of energising citrus fruit in this refreshing vape. You get the ultimate combination of sweet and sour that makes for a well rounded flavour you can enjoy all day.
I Say:
Very pleasant.
I get plenty of the sourness factor with Lemon and Lime. That’s not to say it draws my backside up to my elbow, though! In a satisfying way that compliments with mix of the two fruits.
The citrus punch from the Lemon hits home nicely too. The Lime isn’t over pronounced or sickly and actually leaves a decent aftertaste once the vape is complete.
This is one rare occasion where I’d say the overall experience could do with a tad more sweetness. That’s only because I do pick up on moments where the exhale tastes a bit on the dry side.
Sweetness would’ve masked that and ensured more flavour consistency throughout.
Overall, Lemon & Lime still hits the spot. It’s complemented by a strong blast of ice on the way in but also filters through on the exhale, helping to maintain an enjoyable freshness throughout.
It’s a nice flavour to take with you on long, hot Summer journeys. As a thirst quencher, it’ll take the edge off things.
Purple Rain
HV Says:
Mouth wateringly fresh, zesty Lemons with a splash of a tasty, tangy lime. Have a zest for life! Embrace the fruity fun by letting your senses dance in this purple rain with drops of Blueberry, Raspberry and Lemon.
I Say:
This is quite a strange collection of flavours but quite possibly the most ambitious out of the lot.
To begin with, the Lemons aren’t backed up with any zest so any initial sparkle you might be looking for is sorely lacking.
In fact it’s the Lime that takes centre stage and thus the main theme with Purple Rain. And the reason I say this vape is strange is because I’m reminded more of a Chocolate Lime candy sweet than anything else.
Can Chocolate be replacing the subtle hints of Blueberry and Raspberry? To be fair, I don’t think I’ve sampled a flavour with such diversity in the description.
So I wouldn’t really class this as a fruit fest. Yes, the flavour is consistent enough and some sweetness does escape during exhale but I’m inclined to place this in the sweets category, personally.
Purple Rain struggles under the weight of expectation. Disposables have never really been designed to produce complex flavour overlapping and this is one such example.
It’s certainly unique and full marks to Happy Vibes for trying something different. It just doesn’t really work for me.
Rainbow
HV Says:
Rainbow is a very interesting mix as it’s not the classic candy flavour you see with other flavours named rainbow. In fact, with the Rainbow Happy Vibes Twist you get four different flavours in one device; Blue Raspberry, Kiwi Passion Guava, Purple Rain & Lemon Lime.
I Say:
And this is really what it’s all about, isn’t it. The ability to switch flavours. Not in the blink of an eye but in the twist of a vape.
So what’s the experience like?
Well Purple Rain was the first on the list – instantly recognisable by its chocolate Lime taste. Very distinctive. Next came Kiwi Passion Guava and the highly enjoyable mix of Kiwi and Passionfruit – winner, winner, vaping dinner!
Lemon and Lime followed with all its refreshing appeal and last but by no means least came Blueberry Raspberry – complete with candy like sub notes.
Quite a unique vaping experience, if I’m being honest and one I found very enjoyable.
Being able to effectively switch flavours so seamlessly is an absolute joy.
Rainbow demonstrates two things. Firstly, how consistent the flavours are. In terms of output they’re all singing from the same vape sheet. Not diluted and certainly not over concentrated.
Secondly it shows how damn well the device performs. In practice it’s such a simple, user friendly process.
I’m sure Happy Vibes have put a lot of time and effort in to get this just right.
The score line is a reflection of the two points I’ve mentioned above.
Watermelon Ice
HV Says:
Watermelon Ice has and always will be one of the most refreshing vape flavours out there. You get the light and sweet taste of fresh Watermelon followed by a cool icy exhale.
I Say:
Nice! I Likey!
Happy vibes have given me happy vibes with Watermelon Ice. It’s so damn easy for manufacturers to knock out the same, generic tasting Watermelon – overloaded with sweetener and synthetic to the taste.
That’s not true in this case. OK, it’s still not the most authentic Watermelon I’ve vaped but for a disposable it’s not too shabby, either.
A lot of that can be placed on the dumbing down of sweetener. And combining it with a very soothing intake of Ice, I get much more of the refreshing qualities of this fruit.
It’s a highly consistent vape too. The fruity flavour holds up well throughout exhale and even leaves a few distant memories on the ‘ole taste buds afterwards.
This is a version of Watermelon I can happily vape all day without tiring of because it’s not too saturated or concentrated and avoids the trap many other clones fall into.
It’s well balanced and delivers the goods – every time. You can’t ask for much more from a simple, single flavour profile.
Battery Performance and Number of Puffs
On average I got 6.5 hours use from each pod, twisting round to the next one whenever flavour became muted, dry or lacking vapour production.
Based on my usual chain vaping pattern the disposable gave me in the region of 1,800 puffs across the four pods. This does fall some way short of the suggested figure.
I was able to constantly test the Happy Vibes Twist for three days before the battery gave up. This afforded me more than enough time to get through the entire 8ml of E-liquid without wastage.
So if you’re a new or casual vaper expect the device to last for anything up to a week.
Final Review verdict
The Happy Vibes Twist is a big, chunky disposable. I guess it has to be to house four pods and a 1400mAh integrated battery.
It’s also designed as a MTL vape. I do prefer my MTL products to be smaller, more discreet looking – especially when it comes to disposables.
So size is the inevitable trade off. Is it worth it?
On this occasion I have to say yes because the device works so damn well. Flawlessly. Including the MTL restriction and sensitive auto draw.
And I could rely on that 1400mAh integrated battery to hold out for the full 8ml worth of E-liquid.
It looks like Happy Vibes have found a highly effective workaround to current TPD regulations.
In fact the Twist disposable pod system proves to be a highly effective device.
It’s going to appeal to new and casual vapers for the glaring ease of use and simple twist tech that works seamlessly.
Tried all flavours very good but there was one I really liked was fresh mint lovely I brought 10 of these and the battery was dieing within 24 hours on every vape my only issue
Excellent review of device and flavours. Been using them after discovering them about 2 months ago.Saved a fortune already and managed to stop the fags completely hurrah! The only problem I had was the battery not going off and cooking the pod on the final one. Scary as I could hear it crackling and smell the burning liquid and coil.Had to put it outside just in case it caught fire. Anyone else had any odd experiences with them? It has just been this last one and all the others have worked perfectly.Won’t put me off at all.
