Keynote 2 – Over/misinterpretation of the precautionary principle in relation to safer nicotine
A panel consisting of Sarah Cooney, Garret McGovern and Alex Wodak will be discussing how “risk” is perceived in regard to safer nicotine.
Workshop – What does ‘independent’ mean, in relation to THR science?
This panel consists of Ian Fearon, Marewa Glover, Sarah Cooney, George Hardie and Colin Mendelsohn.
The topic of “independence” is to be discussed in relation to tobacco harm reduction. When are safer nicotine manufacturers declared to be “independent” from tobacco companies.
Science Lab #3
Various leading scientists and researchers will present science lab sessions and inviting discussion from the audience.
The host is Karin Jacobson.
This session includes:
- Rosalia Emma – Replica Project: A journey through Multicentric research endeavours.
- Konstantinos Farsalinos – Flavored E-Cigarette Use at the Time of Quitting Smoking: Comparison Between Young Adults (18-24 Years Old) and Adults (>24 Years Old)

- Elaine Round – Title: Accelerating Towards A Smokeless World
Workshop – Regulation Round Up – global perspectives
In this section various speakers will examine the global regulation of THR products. Barnaby Page is hosting with Michael Landl, Peter Beckett, Lindsey Stroud, Alan Zhao and David Yu adding to the panel.

This session is hosted by Summer Hanna and will feature:

Workshop – Regulatory risk, investment and tobacco harm reduction
In this workshop Pieter Vorster, Sud Patwardhan, Jonathan Fell and Marina Murphy will investigate how investment is required to increase the progress of tobacco harm reduction.
Panel Discussion #2 – Legislation and regulation – health and economic consequences
Examining the health and economic impact of tobacco control measures will be Clive Bates, David Sweanor, Nevena Crljenko, Konstantinos Farsalinos and Joe Thompson.
