Frusion is the latest range of e-liquids from Sheffield based vape company Mirage.
Given I reviewed [and enjoyed] their Mirage Platinum range back in the summer I was more than happy to give these fruit based flavours a try.
It was indeed Elliot Parker from Mirage that contacted me and we arranged to pick up the samples at the recent Vaper Expo.
However he failed to mention this to the staff who eyed me with more than a bit of suspicion and for a while there were pretty sure I was a freeloader just after #FreeShit – as I said to Jonny I was more than a little mortified to say the least lol.
Anyway long story short and not wanting to leave the impression I was making the whole thing up [lol] I dug out the email and was handed over the 5 samples.
BTW once the staff realized I was genuine and to make amends for my red face – they gave me a box of my favourite Platinum flavour as an apology – there really was no need but thank you!
I actually turned down the very nice cloth tote bag too as I already had one – see not all reviewers grab any #FreeShit they can lol…
Anyway every time I passed the stand over the next few days the team smiled and waved – so it’s all good lol.
Fruit Flavoured Juices With a Sharp Citrusy Tang
Right onto the juices – there’s just 5 in the range and as the name suggests they are fruit based.
They come in 0mg – 3mg – 6mg and 12mg and are an 80/20 VG – PG mix.
I have been using the Digiflavor Drop RDA and my go to flavour dripper the Doge III using half of the 10ml bottles on each and of course freshly wicked every time. Can they compete with the best UK vape juice?
It goes without saying despite receiving these direct from Mirage for the purpose of this review – my thoughts and opinions are my own.
Frusion Chews 80/20 VG PG
Mirage says:
Fizzy fruit chews
I say:
Not getting much of a fizz but the fruit certainly comes through – more like a fruit salad than a refresher with a nice citrus tang.
Frusion Jellies 80/20 VG PG
Mirage says:
Sugar coated jelly drops
I say:
I’m guessing the guys are going for the old Jelly Tots flavour maybe? Sadly this didn’t do it for me as the sweetness the fruit flavour came over as slightly perfumy.
Frusion Kilberry 80/20 VG PG
Mirage says:
Kiwi and ripe red berries
I say:
Yeah I really liked this one as the sharpness of the kiwi is tamed by sweet juicy red berries – definitely one for an ADV [all day vape] – refreshing and tasty.
Frusion Melba 80/20 VG PG
Mirage says:
Peach and passion fruit punch
I say:
Definitely one that fits into my flavour profile as I adore – on the whole – peach flavoured e-liquids. With this one the sweet ripe peach fights a battle with the tartness of the passion fruit and JUST about holds its own. I’d call this a grown-up fruit vape that borders on too sharp – but for my taste it was perfect.
Frusion Pop 80/20 VG PG
Mirage says:
Raspberry and citrus soda
I say:
Another one that sits right in my preferred flavour profile and yet another what I’d describe as a grown- up vape. If you’re looking for sweet syrupy juice this isn’t for you. The raspberry is just this side of ripe and the citrus soda adds a real zing on your tongue – loved this one!
Final Verdict on Mirage Frusion E-Liquids
Mirage set out to – and in their own words – create a:
…new premium range of fruit fusions, specially developed for big flavour and big vapour.
As I’ve already mentioned if you’re looking for sugary sweet flavours go with the Chews and Jellies – however if you enjoy a sharper tangier more defined fruit flavour then I highly recommend the Kilberry – Melba and Pop.
Rather than you’re normal bland same-o-same-o fruit flavours there’s an edge to these that really does get your palate and brain working a bit to pick out the flavours.
The end result of the last three I mentioned is indeed ‘big flavour’ but I have a feeling they may be an acquired taste given the sharp citrus notes with the merest hint of sweetness.
Personally I love them and it’s refreshing to see e-liquids that don’t drown the flavours in too much sugar.
