Today I would like to introduce you to a new breed of sub ohm pod kit from Freemax, the Marvos X 100W Pod Kit.
A Pod Mod with Full Spectrum Vaping, that runs on a single 18650 battery!
Established 2013 in China, Freemax have bought us many quality devices such as the Twister 80W Kit, Twister 30W Kit and of course the Maxus Solo Kit.
The Marvos range include the Marvos 80W, Marvos S 80W, Marvos T 80W and Marvos 60W.
Freemax are also known for their Fireluke range and one of my favourites tanks the Mesh Pro sub ohm tank!
What Can We Expect From the Freemax Marvos X Kit?
This is the first pod mod equipped with a fantastic lighting design with multicolour and unicolour options.
This device gives you a special full-spectrum vaping experience up to 100W that will take your personal vaping style to the next level, housed in a light weight body. This kit has more personalised settings and stunning lighting effects than ever before!
The new CRC (Child Resistant Cap) pod utilises the brand-new Double-D Mesh coil technology.
Originally the Marvos range were designed to be interchangeable, the pods and coils will fit other devices in the range.
The Freemax Marvos X 100W Kit is available in 6 colours and designs: Grey, Light Blue, Black, Navy Blue, Brown and Green.
Each colour unit has one of three designs embossed on to its faux leather battery door – Eagle, Horse or God of War!
This kit was sent to me directly by Freemax for the purpose of review.
As always my thoughts and views are my own after a considerable testing period.

Design and Build Quality
I was sent a Grey leather TPD version of this kit, so my review is based this. The kit comes presented in a card draw box and my device has the design “God of War” on it!
The Freemax Marvos X mod has a height of 137mm tall with the CRC Pod installed and is 31mm in width. The pod tank diameter is 30mm. The mod is constructed from durable Zinc-alloy, Leather and Plastic!
Freemax Marvos X From The Top
The pod bay contains 2 spring loaded gold contact points as well as a stainless steel rail for magnet connection to the CRC pod.
Controlling the airflow is performed by the external control ring and consists of 2 wide adjustable slots.
Freemax Marvos X Workface
With a screen size of 0.96” the colour OLED screen displays all the normal info you’d expect to see with a higher end product. Like the Maxus Solo the clear Plastic workface allows you to see the main circuit board!
Both the fire and adjustment buttons are plastic, each have a nice click. The device has a Type C charge port that is rated at 2A and at the bottom of the workface is a physical locking switch.
You can customise the screen colour themes too.
Freemax Marvos Sides
Directly under the pod bay, both sides have a decorative symbol moulded into the body akin to that of a reversed audio volume control!
Freemax Marvos Battery Door and Sled
Visible behind and surrounding the battery door is a strip of LED lights. The back of the device is removable.
The rounded door is made of zinc-alloy and has a faux leather sticker. A couple of really strong magnets top and bottom hold the door in position.
Removing the battery door you will see the frosted white plastic battery sled which has gold plated battery contact points. Moulded in to the sled are battery orientation guides, but they are not really that apparent at first glance!
Placing a battery into the unit you will see that the whole sled lights up – cool!
Freemax Marvos CRC (Child Resistant Cap) Pod
This pod tank is rated ISO 8317 child resistant!
Constructed with Black coated Stainless Steel and Plastic the only parts that are removable are the coil which is a press fit design and an 810 smoky plastic drip tip.
The double lined plastic TPD tank holds 2ml of liquid, the standard version will hold 5ml.
Two press fit coils have been included with the kit, both coils are of the new MS-D range.
Find the word “Freemax” then lift the ring and push the tank open, to access the wide fill port.
- 0.15ohm MS-D mesh coil 60 to 80W
- 0.25ohm MD-D mesh coil 30 to 50W
This pod is compatible with the existing MS coil range!
Both the mod and the pod tank have a good manufacturing quality with a great design!
So How Does the Freemax Marvos X Pod Kit Perform?
In this review I am using the 0.15ohm coil in the CRC Pod Tank and topping it up with Mr Wicks “Pear & Raspberry”.
Basic Quick Start Guide
Freemax CRC Pod Tank
- Prime your coil, do this by adding a few drops of liquid on to all exposed cotton!
- Push the coil in to the CRC Pod Tank.
- Lift the child ring and push open, fill with e-liquid and leave the device and pod alone for 3 minutes or so before 1st firing so the coil can soak up more liquid.
Freemax Marvos X Device
- Place your 18560 battery into the device – positive upper most!
You can charge the battery via the 2A type C USB port, but as always I recommend using a standalone charger!
- Click the fire button x5 fast to turn the device on and off
Adjustment buttons
- Press the fire button x3 fast, to enter the menu system. Options include Power (Variable Wattage), Smart (device selects output or you), VPC (Programme custom power curves) or Bypass.
- Holding down both adjustment buttons together will key lock and unlock the device, the device is still able to fire.
- To lock the device or put it into sleep mode use the physical slide switch.
- This device will adjust from 5 to 100W in 0.5W increments, however the device does not round robin!
- The mod has 8 safety features – Reverse battery, overheating, low voltage, short circuit, overtime, overload, overcharge and over discharge protections.
Freemax Marvos X – In Use
As I said with the Maxus Solo – I would normally think that devices with lights are a tacky and a waste of battery power! I tend to turn LED’s off at the first opportunity lol, however and again with this Freemax device I’ve had to re-evaluate my thinking!
Freemax Marvos X – Lights
The kit has 10 cool pre-set light effects and multicolour & unicolour options, as well as 5 theme colours.
Effects
- Always on
- Circle
- Flash
- Alternate
- Waterfall
- Tetris
- Drop
- Rise
- Spread
- Gather
I tested the kit with the lights always on as well as Waterfall and Alternate, I found there was no appreciable power drop with any of these light modes compared to turning them off!
With the door off, the light effects are bright enough to eliminate even the darkest of settings.
BTW the mod puts itself into hibernation after 30 seconds of inactivity.
This device functions just as described by Freemax.
I’ve got to say like with the Maxus Solo I am fascinated by not only the pre-set lights but with the option “RGB” to make your own colours.
Freemax Marvos X – Wattage
I’m not much for high wattage vaping and have been staying to around 50/65W. Both the coils that come with the kit perfectly fit my vaping style and produce a nice warm vape with plenty of clouds and flavour to match.
Battery life etc
At 50W DTL I get around 3.5 hours vape time with a single 18650 battery with the lights set on “Waterfall”.
Chain vaping – the kit does become warm which I expected!
My CRC pod holds a 2ml fill capacity and to be honest it is a right royal pain in my butt as I seem to spend quite a lot of my time filling up the pod!
Coil life – is fair, with the 0.15Ω and 65W, I am on day 5 of normal use.
While the 0.25Ω only lasted me 4 days I did push the coil with chain vaping it at 50W rather than the best at 45W recommended!
Pros
Marvos X device
- Good Quality
- Great Design
- Fair battery life
- RGB lights
- 10 Led functions
- Slide lock switch
CRC Pod
- Good flavour and vapour quality
- Well designed with good quality
- Fair coil life
Cons
No concerns with this kit, however if pushed I’d focus on
- The 2ml fill capacity which is the fault of the TPD – not Freemax.
Final Review Verdict
A fun and fashionable kit, and like the Maxus Solo the LED lights are great fun to play with! The menu system is simple and very easy to navigate!
While my personal preference is for RDA’s or RTA’s the CRC Pod and coils do give good flavour and good vapour production.
The kit has a nice feel in the hand and I love the leather sticker design on mine.
Would I recommend the Freemax Marvos X Kit?
This is a fun and easy to use kit, while classed as a sub ohm device it would be great for all levels of experience, so this is an easy recommendation by me!
Would I buy this device again due loss or damage?
“Yes” I would definitely be seeking to buy another kit!
