Today I’m taking a look at the new FlerBar BAYMAX 3500 disposable vapes.
I hadn’t really heard of this EU based vape manufacturer until I got the chance to review their original FlerBar disposables earlier this year. Despite the company being formed a few years ago it was the first one they released.
With a young, vibrant and enthusiastic team, FlerBar are dedicated to beating the fight against tobacco products.
..I’m all for that so they’ve already won me over to an extent.
I was very impressed with the flavours in the FlerBar disposable vape range. Will my own enthusiasm towards this fledgling brand continue with their follow up, the BAYMAX 3500?
What Can We Expect From the FlerBar BAYMAX 3500 Disposable Vapes?
The multi coloured vacuum sealed bag is enough to lighten my load! Can’t say I was expecting that and it is a nice touch.
The BAYMAX 3500 carries something of a retro appeal. It reminds me of a late 70’s transistor radio where LED’s replace the speaker. The silicone mouthpiece and trim also puts me in mind of old school scented erasers.
..I’m definitely showing my age. lol
A few years ago I would’ve said the disposable was oversized but measuring 83 x 51 x 22mm, as of now the powerful Flerbar BAYMAX 3500 is pretty much de rigueur.
So starting with that silicone mouthpiece. It’s bendy, Wendy. For anyone that’s ever chipped a tooth on a Delrin drip tip – here’s the cure. I very much like the concept.
– That’s harm reduction, right there!
The BAYMAX 3500 uses a top “U” airflow system to cool the mesh coil. It’s said to provide an authentic vape with bigger clouds.
There’s a miniscule airflow slot on the bottom and the mouthpiece opening isn’t much larger. Mouth to lung vaping (MTL) is clearly something we must expect.
Fast type C USB charging is incorporated into the side of the disposable. To be honest, they could have placed it anywhere – the BAYMAX 3500 isn’t going to stand on any surface.
At the beating heart of the BAYMAX 3500 lies a 650mAh battery so I’m hoping it’ll last a while between charges. The clue is in the name – it can be vaped for anything up to 3,500 puffs before the 12ml of included e-liquid runs dry.
TPD Approved!
Something of importance to note. It’s totally legit for use in the UK and EU being TPD Compliant!
That’s because (and get ready) despite an e-juice capacity of 12ml they do not contain nicotine. Nope. Nothing. Nada..
FlerBar are debuting the BAYMAX 3500 with their ground breaking HRTP (Harm Reduction Technology Platform). Now I can only assume it refers to their disposables being able to deliver the same effects (or up to 80%) as their nicotine laden rivals.
Should that be the case then it’s an extremely bold statement to make. One I’ll be testing to the max.
Having scouted around a bit I notice these are the latest flavours in the range. This expands the original line up from 10 to 18.

I’ve no flavour descriptions to go by so I’m vaping blindfold.
FlerBar BAYMAX 3500 – Cherry
I Say:
The amount of sweetness drawn up with the inhale is insane! It seeps through the nostrils, hits the back of the throat and settles on the tongue after the vape.
There’s more than enough flavour though so we can attribute some of the sweetness to the Cherry. Short, rapid MTL vapes bring out the sour properties of the red berry and a fragrant aroma is created with the resulting vapour.
The Cherry isn’t exactly authentic tasting but what we do get is clearly defined. Plenty of flavour, plenty of consistency throughout exhale.
On to the cooling effect of the vape. It’s actually quite acceptable, soothing the throat while remaining around the palate post vape. When rated on my ‘sting-O-meter’ (intensity) I’d give it a 7.
This one gets the job done as a no nonsense single fruit profile.
FlerBar BAYMAX 3500 – Mango Pineapple Orange
I Say:
There it is again! That level of sweetness. It’s already starting to become too much of a distraction. But the flavour!
It’s incredibly refreshing set against the chill of Coolada. I can actually decipher all main ingredients. Admittedly it’s more by way of a mixture of Mango, Pineapple and Orange but I am impressed.
Some vapes produce more Mango while others give way for the Pineapple. The Orange lurks and is more prominent as an after taste.
I’d say the flavour is semi authentic and I think lowering the intensity of the trio helps a lot. For a disposable it’s quite subtly produced.
This one makes an ideal Summer time vape.
FlerBar BAYMAX 3500 – Orange Kiwi
I Say:
This is another good blending of flavour. Plenty of sweetness on the inhale but this time it combines with the tanginess of Kiwi. Overall, Orange is the fruit with the edge.
It’s refreshing and lively while lacking the juicier elements commonly associated.
It may just be me but there also seems to be a touch of Strawberry thrown in.
Again Orange Kiwi tones down flavour intensity in favour of subtlety and that’s really no bad thing. Especially with profiles that lack a realistic taste.
I would be lying if I said this one’s any different – it lends more to sweetie, confectionary inspired vapes.
The mixture of fruit certainly keeps things interesting when combined with an ice cold inhale.
FlerBar BAYMAX 3500 – Pink Watermelon
I say:
I actually get a very strong whiff of Watermelon when unpacking this one. You don’t need to be very close to the mouthpiece, either.
By now I have to admit that the sugar content in this range is definitely overloaded. It tends to eclipse the fruit. I’m used to the bitter and sour like qualities of a Watermelon vape but here they’re sorely lacking.
Those qualities get drowned by an excessive sweetness.
Don’t go into Pink Watermelon expecting a natural, juicy taste either. Although the bar on flavour intensity is raised high it’s still a synthetic, artificial tasting vape. If you’re used to Watermelon disposables, just expect more of the same.
It’s a bit of a vicious vape circle. The sweetness seems to stick to the Coolada which (in my opinion) only amplifies the unnatural taste.
All things aside, you will get plenty of flavour – even if I personally found it too concentrated and just a tad sickly.
FlerBar BAYMAX – Strawberry Ice Cream
I Say:
This isn’t a Strawberry Ice Cream vape in my opinion. That doesn’t necessarily make it a bad vape. I’m more inclined to liken it to a milky beverage. If you think of a Yazoo milk drink you’ll be getting some idea of what I experience.
The creamy aspects of the vape are a little skewed, featuring a degree of sourness. It’s almost as if the milk has gone off a bit. I can’t overlook that because it’s more prominent than the Strawberry content.
Strawberry Ice Cream doesn’t feature as much sweetener. This is one occasion where it might have helped nullify some of that sourness.
Yes, the berry could’ve done with pulling out more and maybe been more natural tasting. As it stands it’s no different from multiple other versions flooding the disposable vape market.
I’ve also said it before. Coolada is no replacement for the cooling effect of Ice Cream.
FlerBar BAYMAX – Tropical Fruit
I Say:
The aroma from Tropical Fruit is very, very similar to Pink Watermelon but how does it vape?
Differently. Pineapple is quite dominant on the initial exhale and it’s not badly recreated, either. It has a fresh, juicy taste and acts as a decent introduction to the rest of the vape.
As the exhale progresses, Grapefruit appears alongside and to complete the medley there’s just the subtlest hint of Orange. The citrus from the Orange plays around with the palate, remaining noticeable as an after taste.
The carton image also suggests the inclusion of Banana. I didn’t pick that out at all.
The usual sweetness is toned down which allows Tropical Fruit to come across as slightly more complex than some in the range. I like flavour complexity so that’s always going to be a plus for me!
It’s also a prime example of how adding Coolada can actually improve the overall vaping experience.
Battery Life, Recharging and Number of Puffs
The factory charge gave me 12.5 hrs continuous use. I’m quite a heavy vaper so I found that impressive. Fast type C USB charging played its role by taking exactly one hour to recharge.
The Blue LEDs flash 10 times to indicate a spent battery. Once charging is complete the LED’s switch off. If an hour seems too long to wait it’s possible to sneak a few crafty vapes in while plugged into the wall socket.
Those Blue LEDs will also flash 3 times when removing from a wall socket.
The second charge gave me a total of 14.5 hours vaping, actually improving on the factory charge.
So far I’ve amassed 27 hours worth of vaping and that equates to around 1,950 puffs.
I’ll update very shortly with my final conclusions once I run out of the 12ml of e-juice.
Harm Reduction Technology Platform
I’m afraid I have to be blunt.
It didn’t work – at least not for me. The acid test came first thing in the morning when I needed that nic hit. It took merely an hour to start feeling withdrawal symptoms while using it.
Cue switching across to another device with 20mg salt nicotine and the instant head rush! Therein lay the indisputable facts. It could’ve even been 3mg freebase nic, my usual go to. For quite a few years 3mg has staved off the feelings of irritability caused by nicotine craving.
Feelings of irritability that would return during various stages of the day while using the Flerbar BAYMAX 3500 for extended periods.
Does it maybe get let off the hook by claiming 80% effectiveness? Is it a work in progress? Is it just a placebo? More importantly, what is the actual science behind these claims?
HRTP leaves me with more questions than answers.
Final Review Verdict
The FlerBar BAYMAX 3500 provided me with one of the best MTL vape experiences I’ve had the pleasure of enjoying for quite some time. The restriction is bang on with the majority of vapour returning through the mouth. Just as it should be.
I got plenty of flavour and although generally synthetic and artificial tasting, some of the blending was good. The level of sweetness was overboard in general. It took away some of the enjoyment to the vape.
The icy, cooling effect wasn’t too much of a distraction. It tended to remain after the vape as opposed to clutching the throat. Vapour production was suitably stealthy for a MTL disposable.
The 8 Blue LED’s under the ‘speaker’ are bit on the excessive side. They’re very bright and literally in your face. I found them an unnecessary distraction but those of a younger (less grumpy) generation will no doubt have fun with them.
The FlerBar BAYMAX 3500 is another disposable designed for the masses. The new or casual vaper is going to get very good value for money considering the life span of the product.
Despite the larger size it remains light and very pocket friendly.
