Anyone for another pod system?
The EVOVE is like many other pod systems out there. This one comes in the form of a closed pod system meaning that any pods you buy, it is with the EVOVE e-liquids inside and not your own. Once they are empty, throw them away then you order the flavours available from the EVOVE website, it’s that simple.
A pod system is basically a small device which uses low power so you can get away with a smaller battery to power the device. You will usually use a higher strength nicotine or more often is the case with pods, Nicotine Salts. A bit like a quick fix as you would normally get from smoking a cigarette.
On first looks, the EVOVE pod mod looks like a grown up JUUL. If you are familiar with the JUUL, just imagine that but a little bigger and you have it right there.
I received the EVOVE pod system in Space Grey as you can see from the image above. The kit does come in three other colours.
The EVOVE pod system uses Nicotine Salts in strengths of 20 and 50mg’s with a mix ratio of 50% VG and 50% PG. It does state on the pod packaging that the pods are designed by Salt Labs.
The EVOVE pod system was sent to me for the purposes of review. As always, I will give you my own, honest opinion of this product after a lengthy testing period.

Design and Build Quality
The EVOVE pod is packaged very well. It’s a small package with a compact design. On opening the box you get a bit of a deja vu moment if you have ever owned a JUUL pod system. This is like a JUUL device on steroids. The EVOVE comes with an all metal body and feels very nice in the hand.
Taking the EVOVE pod and the magnetic charging cable out, I quickly searched for a pod, no luck I’m afraid. I hate it when a company releases a product, how can I put it, half arsed. Why sell a pod system without a pod in there to try?
Anyhow, no pod in the package so if you have only bought the pod system, you better jog along and buy a pack of pods.
You have an LED indicator on one side of the pod and the words EVOVE at the bottom of the other side. The EVOVE pod system is super lightweight even with a pod fitted making this device ultra portable and easily stowed away in a pocket or purse.
How does the EVOVE pod system Perform?
With this pod system, there are no buttons to press. You simply raise the pod to your lips and inhale, the pod will automatically fire releasing vapour from the pod into your mouth.
The EVOVE pod mod gives a very pleasant Mouth to Lung (MTL) vape. If the draw on your vape is not to your liking then EVOVE recommend you cover one of the holes on the side to make the draw tighter.
One thing I must mention before I go any further just for my own sanity. Whilst the pod mouthpiece size is great, I would prefer the mouthpiece to be smooth and not ribbed as it is in its current state.
The feel of the mouthpiece drives me insane and for me doesn’t sit nicely on my lips at all.
Another thing with it being ribbed is it gathers mouth crud (for want of a better word), not nice.
How To Charge the pod system
Charging this pod couldn’t be simpler. Plug the USB cable into a suitable outlet and attach the magnetic end to the pod. EVOVE state charging takes approx 1 hour and I wouldn’t argue with that give or take a few minutes.
Checking the Battery Level With A Tap
To check the battery level tap the device twice and you will be met with two indications, either Green or Red.
If the device indicates Green then you have 30% to 100% charge. If you are met with a Red indication you have less than 30% charge left in the pod.
Power Modes – Tap To Change
There are two power modes on the EVOVE pod system. Indicated in the instruction manual under the term “How To EVOVE”. To change the power setting on your EVOVE pod system, tap the device four times and you will be met with either a Blue or White LED. The White LED is an indication of the high power setting whilst a Blue LED is low power.
Changing the pod
Changing the pod on the EVOVE pod system couldn’t be easier. Just simply pull out the old pod and insert a new one. The pods are held into place by very strong magnets so there is no chance of the pod accidentally falling out unless you physically remove it.
Battery Life
The battery life from the EVOVE pod system isn’t bad at all. It’s not going to last you all day but as an out and about device, at the pub, theater etc, you will get around three hours constant usage. I did find myself using the high power mode which brings the battery life down somewhat.
Flavour and Vapour Production
With this pod or any other pod system you aren’t going to fill a room with cloud production, that’s not what these types of vapes are for, discreet stealth vapes or for a beginner to move from smoking cigarettes.
As mentioned previously, there is no pod provided with the actual EVOVE pod kit and you have to purchase a pack of pods as an extra. You can order a pack of a specific flavour, of which there are four, Summer Strawberry, Creamy Caramel, Menthol Chill and Classic Tobacco or order all four flavours in one pack.
The EVOVE pod system and the pods can be purchased direct from the EVOVE website in the currency of your choice.
Each vape gives you a decent nicotine hit, though, if you do require a bit of a tighter MTL vape, you will find yourself searching for one of the air intake holes to cover up. I found that a small piece of Sellotape does an excellent job and saves you searching on every vape. Each pod comes with 1.8ml of e-liquid.
One thing I did find whilst using the EVOVE pod system, from time to time a little bit of e-liquid would seep slightly from the pods mouthpiece, nothing too major but it is something to note.
Let’s take a look at the flavours on offer.
Classic Tobacco
I found the EVOVE Classic Tobacco to be quite a mellow tobacco flavour. I am not one for tobacco vapes generally, but I found myself vaping away on this flavour without any ill taste at all.
I get a smooth tobacco flavour with an undertone of smoked malt which is quite pleasing on the palette and a mix of the butter milkshake flavour thrown in.
This certainly would be a very good starting point for any potential new vaper coming off the cigarettes.
Menthol Chill
I’m usually all excited when I get a menthol flavour for a pod system. I thoroughly enjoy a good menthol vape on a pod. This one didn’t quite live up to my expectations though.
The menthol flavour for me isn’t strong enough and is barely distinguishable from the tobacco taste. As for the cooling Agent, I didn’t see him turn up at all.
Again, a very smooth vape and sits very pleasantly on the pallet. I would like to have seen more menthol over the tobacco flavour but again, an excellent choice in flavours for a new vaper.
Creamy Caramel
Ok, before I start on this flavour profile, I will just like to point out to EVOVE, please, please, make the Creamy Caramel and the Classic Tobacco coloured pods different. It is very hard to see when you take the pods out of the package, which is which, until you try out the flavour. The colour of these two pods are very similar indeed, too similar.
The flavour profile from this pod is very pleasant indeed for me. You get a very nice creamy peanut taste. I have no idea of the nationality of the peanut but it’s very defiantly a peanut taste non the less. So far, the flavours from EVOVE are exactly as advertised and a superb starting point into vaping.
Summer Strawberry
Now we’re talking, a lovely strawberry pod, or is it!
From this flavour I get a slight chilling effect from the vape but only a hint of strawberry.
You could even call this a strawberry mint flavour. There was no hint at all of the French wine, I’m starting to get a bit of a French theme going on here.
I know pod systems haven’t got the strongest flavours around, but I would have liked the Strawberry to pop out a little more in this flavour profile.

My Final Thoughts
The EVOVE pod system is an excellent starting point for new vapers. It is ideal if you are trying to move away from smoking cigarettes. Whilst the EVOVE pod flavours, I feel, are a little limited, they are aimed at new vapers being mainly tobacco orientated. The flavours are nice enough for the seasoned vaper also and this pod system makes an excellent out and about vape.
Although I have said this is like a JUUL on steroids, the flavour from the pods are a damn sight better than the JUUL and so is the battery life.
