Today I’m going to take a look at a little 80w kit, the Eleaf IStick S80, and it’s paired with the GZeno MTL tank.
Eleaf is a company that really needs no introduction to the wider vaping community and are best known for its most popular e-cigarette mod range the IStick.
Eleaf is prolific with a most impressive back catalogue, a few of their more up to date products include: Glass Pen pod, Pico Compaq Kit, iJust AIO Pen, iStick T80 kit and iStick Rim C Kit.
What Can We Expect From the Eleaf IStick S80 Kit?
I’m not going to blow vapour at you and say what a fabulous must have kit this is!
Because Eleaf IStick S80 is just a basic 80w mod paired unfortunately with a rather uninspiring stock tank, they say that imitation is the sincerest form of flattery!
While the GZeno tank may resemble a great mouth to lung tank the Innokin Zenith, for me it doesn’t function anything like the Innokin original!
The Eleaf IStick S80 mod is small and solid, that fits the hand with comfort and dare I say with almost stealth like quality, the materials give the device a great stylish look.
The device features a clear to read colour TFT screen and is smart enough to read the resistance of your coil and there by predicting the ideal firing wattage!
Eleaf has used the new technology of USB-C to quickly charge the internal 1800mAh battery.
This kit is available in 6 colours – Rose Gold, Red, Blue, Silver, Gunmetal, and Matte Gunmetal, paired with either a black or stainless steel GZeno tank.
This product was sent to me free of charge for the purpose of review.
As always my thoughts and views are my own after a considerable testing period.

Eleaf IStick S80 Mod
Made from aluminium, zinc alloy and stainless steel, and measuring in at 56mm tall and 30mm across and 15mm deep, the device is able to take atomizers with a diameter of 25mm.
Eleaf IStick S80 From the Top
Made from stainless steel the 510 connection plate is almost flush with the top of the mod, the threading has been turned well, with a gold plated spring loaded connection pin.
On the backside of the top you will note Eleaf have placed a lanyard slot (lanyard not included).
Front and Screen
With a 0.96” TFT colour screen that is simple clear and bright it shows you everything that you would expect to see, the control buttons are made of aluminium and are all quite clicky.
The adjustment buttons are in the style of a rocker, below the adjustment rocker you will see the USB-C charge port.
Sides and Back
The chassis of the device is made of zinc alloy with both sides having aluminium plates that have a weave style pattern molded into them.
The only advertisement on the device is located on the back of the chassis with a simple printed “IStick S80”.
Eleaf IStick S80 Kit Base
You will see 7 battery small vent holes along with 2 hatch screws and the usual design and safety marks.
The mod has been manufactured very well with a quality of design that is ergonomically comfortable to hold in either hand.
Eleaf GZeno MTL Tank
I‘m not going to bore you with a drawn out description of this tank because really this really is a standard mouth to lung stock tank, what I will do is point out the features of it for you!
The tank disassembles to 6 parts including the plug and play coil.
On the base it has all the usual design and safety info printed, the standard 510 connection threading has been turned well and the connection pin is flush and silver plated.
The base airflow consists of 2 adjustable slots each with 5 pin holes.
The base screws onto the chimney/tank section which is in one piece. I cannot find a way to change the glass should it break, however, that’s a mute point as Eleaf don’t supply a spare lol. The internal tank airflow consists of 4 slots on the base of the chimney section.
Turning the section the right way up you will see 2 kidney shaped slots for filling.
The top cap has a ¼ turn screw and is topped off with a 510 ultem mouthpiece.
Eleaf IStick S80 Kit Coils
Two PnP stock coils come with the kit.
- Eleaf GZ 1.2Ω rated at 7 to 13w
The GZeno tank has been manufactured from stainless steel, and has been designed well with good quality.
How Does the Eleaf IStick S80 Kit Perform?
I will be using my go to liquid from “Ohm Baked” Apple and Rhubarb Crumble while testing this kit.

Performance of the GZeno Tank
I really didn’t get much enjoyment from the GZeno tank, the airflow is simply too tight for me even set wide open.
The vapour production was OK for a MTL tank but for me the biggest factor was the flavour production, I was not impressed at all. Also I prefer a much warmer vapour than this tank can produce at 13w.
I did push the coil over the stated max wattage to 15w this made little to no difference and after a while at 15w the liquid took on a cook taste bordering on almost burnt!
Performance of the Eleaf IStick S80 Mod
Still not all was lost with this kit!
The S80 mod did its job really well!!!
So much so I have no concerns with it at all, once I replaced the GZeno tank with my Freemax Fireluke 2 tank I was able to fire the device up to 75w with no problem at all – unless you want to count the battery life lol see my comments below!
Having tested many IStick products in the past I can report the mod does not suffer from the button rattle that always seemed to plague earlier IStick products.
The TFT screen that is bright enough to be read outside.
I’d call this device one of the best IStick mods that Eleaf have produced, an all round battery device suited to the experienced and novice alike!
Eleaf IStick S80 Kit – Battery life etc
With a full charge and the GZeno tank attached at 13w, I get approx 1 full day from the internal 1800mAh battery as well as over 2.5hours vaping time from a full 3ml tank of liquid.
Using my Fireluke 2 and direct to lung style between 35 to 50w, I was able to nearly get 3hours vape time however pumping the wattage to 75w I got about 2hours of use before recharge was needed, thankfully with the fast charge USB-C an hour later I was up and running again.
Pros
S80 Mod
- Good Quality and Design
- Very good battery life with the GZeno tank attached
- Easy to understand menu system
GZeno Tank
- Good Quality
- Fair Design
- Standard MTL Vapour Production
Cons
- Tight airflow
- Flavour not great
- Non replaceable glass tube
- No concerns with the S80 mod
Final Review Verdict
Really the only thing that lets this kit down for me is the tank.
I’m not impressed with it even though it has a similar look to the Zenith tank, the experience is not the same, it’s simply too tight a draw for me with a flavour I would call sub standard!
I can find a way to change the glass so if it breaks it will a throw away tank!
Eleaf has redeemed itself with IStick S80 mod, it’s a good simple to use device, it has good looks and functions as advertised, with a different tank this little thing could be classed as a beast at least for a couple of hours lol.
Would I recommend the IStick S80 Kit from Eleaf?
The mod is easy to use with no learning curve so “Yes”! Unless you are after a super tight draw I’d give the GZeno tank a miss!
Would I buy this kit again due loss or damage?
If I was to buy the kit again I would consider buying just the S80! The tank isn’t my cup of tea!
Is this a vape kit you’re interested in?
Have you already bought it?
