The Eleaf iJust 3 is from one of the vaping giants and a company that needs little introduction. But for those that are new to vaping and unaware of the company, Eleaf Electronics Co Ltd started life way back in 2011 and are based in china.
They designed and manufactured the iStick series – 20w, 30w, 50w, 100TC – of mods, which have earned a great deal of respect and reputation over the years.
Beside the iStick series Eleaf produced the iJust series that include the iJust start and the iJust Start Plus, iJust One also iJust 2 and iJust S.
Finally after 2 years Eleaf have given us their latest addition to this range, I’m excited to be taking a look at the iJust 3 topped off by the Ello Duro tank to complete the kit as the newest member of the iJust family.

Design and Build Quality
The quality and design of the Eleaf iJust 3 is simply beautiful. It’s a regulated tube mode, I would call it a vape pen mod but it’s simply too thick to be called a pen LOL. I have the cherry red design; the product comes well presented in a cardboard box with some spare parts and micro usb cable.
iJust 3 Battery
Made of stainless steel it holds an integrated 3000mAh battery, utilises direct current up to a maximum output of 80W with dual circuit protection to keep you vaping safe.
The cherry red has a lined pattern designed body, Stainless steel highlights top and bottom along with a stainless steel fire button which has a fair click to it which sits proud of the body.Unless you are in the dark or shade the battery lights aren’t that apparent under the button however they can be seen clearly via the top micro usb charge port. The battery operation is very easy, to switch on 5 quick clicks of the fire button and the same to turn off.
The battery has a 510 connection with good threading. Surrounding the 510 you have spoke pattern design printed along with Eleaf and iJust 3 also the normal CE marks, around the edging of the top you have cut outs somewhat matching the print around the 510 connection.
The bottom cap has the same cut outs around the edge along with a larger spoke pattern, the centre of the bottom cap has a single small battery vent hole.
Ello Duro Tank
Is made from stainless steel/pyrex/delrin, the colour matches the battery perfectly the tank disassembles into 5 parts.
Base / Airflow
The base has 510 connection pin which is not adjustable, the threading is good quality and the base has Eleaf advertising as well as the CE marks.
The base features bottom Tri Cylon stop style airflow Plus chunky finger holds to help turn the airflow ring.Inside of the base you have a large sealing gasket which your glass sits against and smooth threading for your coil to screw into.
Coils
Eleaf gives you 2 coils with the tank – HW-M 0.15Ω which is recommended between 50 to 100w and HW-N 0.2Ω that is recommended to be used at 40 to 80w.
Both are different styles of mesh however both are Kanthal, this is not reflected anywhere in the documentation, they have a look very similar to the baby beast coils by Smok only with smaller juice intake slots.
Tank
The Duro comes with 2 Pyrex tanks while I have the 2ml TPD version the American version has a bubble glass which will hold around 6.5ml of liquid.
Top cap / Fill port
The top cap screws into the top of the coil and has an O ring around the chimney section for a tight seal with the coil. The mark to open the cap fill port is very small and not very visible However the slide cap runs on a type of ball and rail system which is smooth to operate, inside the fill port you have a white gasket, with 2 spares in the box one, of which has a membrane to stop flow back leaks.
Drip tip
The drip-tip that comes with the Ello Duro is an 810 but the style with the O rings attached, the colours vary and are almost pot luck going by some of the photos I have seen, personally I think the length of the drip tip is too long.
A basic how to guide
- Make sure your iJust 3 battery is fully charged before first use.
- Pre wick the coil by wetting the cotton with a few drops of e-liquid.
- Fill your Duro tank by sliding the cap back and filling through the white gasket.
You will have to empty the tank before you can change your coil or risk a flood LOL.
Charge lights – the iJust 3 has 4 OLED lights denoting your battery state
- Green fully charged 100- 60%
- Orange 59 – 30%
- Blue 29 – 10%
- Red 9% – flat, charge immediately
How Does The Eleaf iJust 3 Kit Perform?
For this review I am using Left Cheek by Banana Butt in the Eleaf Ello Duro tank with the HW-M 0.15 supplied coil.
Full Charge 80w
Airflow (AF) wide open, after coughing and spluttering for a few minutes I turned the airflow down to half. LOL… it was quite a shock for me to vape with the AF wide open and a full charge and experience the amount of vapour I did, after knocking the AF down and being more prepared for a lot of vapour, the flavour was good, very much my idea of a decent vape, the vapour was warm but not overly so.
Half Charge
When I reached half charge I was able to open the airflow up fully and enjoy, the resulting vapour was good and the flavour, which I have to say was great and neither taxed my micro lungs at all LOL.
E-liquid consumption and battery longevity
Being a 2ml tank I found before the battery reached the half way point I was constantly filling the darn thing after 6/8 good toots, after the battery got to the half point I averaged 10 pulls before re filling.
The battery life from full charge gave me approx 4hrs of use before recharge was needed, this of course depends on how you use the iJust 3, my wife manages nearly 6hrs with hers but she is not as heavy a vaper as I am.
Flavour and Vapour production
The vapour production is considerable, very thick and creamy. The flavour from the Ello Duro was good although not as good as some stock tanks I have tested in the past but still very acceptable for my taste buds.
Does the Eleaf Ello Duro Leak?
While one would understandably expect a tiny bit of leakage with a tank, I have not experienced any leaking issues with the Ello Duro while in use! Leaving the tank for a full day filled while it was cold a small amount of liquid did escape the AF when tilted.
Chain vaping with the Ello Duro
From full charge airflow set to half and 5 good toots, the tank got hot and took a while to cool but as I have mentioned in the past chain vaping is not the norm so I class this as acceptable.
Comparing the Eleaf iJust 3 to the iJust S, I would say that Eleaf have done a good job!
At the risk of sounding like a pansy (LOL) the kit is beautiful, it’s well made and simplistic. While the battery mAh rating is the same as the iJust S at 3000, the battery is slightly shorter and wider at 25mm, the addition of the Ello Duro gives a smaller profile but with the adjustable airflow and different coloured OLEDs it all adds up to a really attractive kit and much more usable than the tank that came with the S which was prone to leaks.
Pros
- Good Flavour
- Considerable Vapour production
- Design and Quality of the whole kit is excellent
- Good enough battery life
- A good size in the hand
Cons
- Coil material is not apparent but both are Kanthal mesh’s
- Liquid consumption for the 2ml very heavy
- Battery OLED’s not very visible in daylight
- The driptip is too long for the tank (my opinion)
- Spares are minimal
Final Review Verdict
I have really enjoyed using the Eleaf iJust 3!
The device is very comfortable in the hand, the only real downside for me is the 2ml tank but you can’t have everything can you LOL. I would be more than happy to recommend the Eleaf iJust 3 Kit to those that are stepping up from smaller pen mods or pod mod systems (if they take into account the amount of vapour produced) or even a travel mod for the more experienced vaper.
Would I buy the Eleaf iJust 3 again should some rotter pinch it or I damaged it beyond repair, my answer would have to be a big “YES”.
Was using a Vaporesso Cascade up until this morning, dropped it, smashed tank. Vaporesso don’t give spare glass with the kit and I couldn’t find a shop that stocked the elusive spares so thought sod it, new vape time! I’ve had my eye on a Smok Stick Prince for a while but, changed my mind when I saw the eleaf.
Couldn’t agree more with your review. A good quality device all round that leaves the Vaporesso behind. Well happy with it 👍
Just brought this today, the rainbow one is GORGEOUS!! I hadn’t read anything about it, the design just had me sold. I needed a new pen(ish) vape. I got the larger bubble tank. Which is a great size, cause the coil does chew though juice a little. I am also a chainvaper so that doesn’t help. I’ve used it all day. And I highly recommend it. Thank you for taking the time to do this review, it’s fantastic and I couldn’t agree with you more.
I’m glad you like it its a wonderful little thing, I feel your pain with the coils though they are very thirsty I’ve been tempted to get the bubble glass myself but as I only use the iJust 3 in the evenings in front of the box with a bottle of liquid by me I haven’t felt the need as of yet lol cheers for your comment and you are most welcome.
