E-Lites Revisited With The E-80 Review

The E-Lites E200 was one of the first e cigarettes reviewed here at Ecigclick with the E Pro 4 and E Cigar following not long after.

As E-Lites have been going from strength to strength we decided it was time to revisit to see if anything had changed. This E-Lites review will be carried out using the E 80 e cig starter kit, one of their entry level options.

Packaging

The E-Lites E80 comes in a straight forward carton that is designed the same as a 20 pack of cigs.

Only difference being that inside you will find the following:

• 1 x Battery
• 2 x Cartomisers (E-Tips)
• 1 x USB Charger

Battery/ Responsiveness

Every e cig starter kit option in the E-Lites range uses the same G9 automatic batteries which are designed to make the transition from smoking to vaping as easy as possible by keeping the looks of the e-cig as close to a cigarette as possible.

I have to say they have done a good job as well right down to the raised rings around the body of the battery. It also has a good quality feel in the hand.

If you are expecting this e cig to be the same size as a cig then you are setting yourself up for a disappointment as it is a fair bit bigger. This isn’t a bad thing though! Keep in mind the smaller the battery the more likely the actually battery life will be pretty poor.

With the E-Lites battery I was having to re-charge after around half a days use, that’s as a moderate vaper but this will differ depending on your vaping habits. For an e cig battery this size that’s not too bad.

One thing worth noting though for any new e cig users, if you decide to go for an E-Lites kit that has only one battery and like the product then I would advise purchasing a second battery ASAP. It is good practice to always have 2 batteries being used in rotation, one on charge and one to vape with!

Overall – The battery has a good quality feel to it and also performs as well as can be expected from a mini e cig. Just be sure to buy a spare battery as soon as you can if you buy this kit!

Vapour/Flavour

The E80 kit has 3 tobacco flavour options, Reds (Regular), Golds (Lights) and Greens (Menthol). I was sent the Reds which is pretty strong, just a bit too much for my personal taste.

The tobacco flavour itself is good with a nice throat hit and decent vapour volume so no issues on that front.

It is a common sight for e cig brands to state how many cigarettes you get per cartomiser and E-Lites is no different.

They state each cartomiser is equivalent to 40 cigarettes. Every 10 puffs is supposed to be equal to one cigarette so I should in theory be getting 400 puffs per cartomiser.

I was personally way off this number getting around 140-150 puffs but this number will differ depending on each individuals vaping habits.

It should also be taken into account that my drags are approx 3 seconds long and E-Lites were working out their puff count on 1.5 seconds which is the average length of a draw on a cigarette. Bottom line is don’t be expecting to get 400 puffs from one cartomiser.

The one other thing that does stand out with these E-Tips is the price. They are pretty much double that of competing brands and very expensive.

E-Lites are also sticking to the tobacco flavours so there aren’t a lot of flavours to choose from if that’s something you think will interest you.

Overall – The tobacco flavour is decent as is the vapour volume/throat hit. The flavours are limited, they don’t last anyway near the 400 stated puffs and they work out to be very expensive compared to other brands.

E-Lites E 80 Review – Summary

This E-Lites review has been a mixed one. The product on a whole is decent, the batteries perform as expected for a mini e cig of this size and the tobacco flavours are decent. If you do decide to go for this kit and stick with it I would advise buying a spare battery ASAP as the one battery just isn’t enough.

The main downsides are that the stated 400 puffs per cartomiser were well off for me and the price of the refill cartomisers, they are very expensive in comparison to other e cigarette brands available.

The price for what you get is also high. There are a far more cost effective options available that are also better performers. I would recommend you take a look at other e cig options.
