The Dinner Lady Disposable E-cigarettes review, and these are, as the name suggests, throwaway pod kits designed for both new or established vapers, and smokers looking to make the switch.
The pods are filled with five of the UK based company’s most famous and much loved Dinner Lady e juice – including two menthol flavours – just in time for the European wide menthol flavoured tobacco ban…clever timing!
They might not be that good for the environment – some if not most are of course recyclable – however, the disposable e-cigarette market is growing and growing quickly.
Some of these types of vape kits have been pretty good, with the Vozol D2 coming out surprisingly well in Harley’s review, whilst the EPuffer Xpod Mini was OK and ideal for those ‘vape emergencies’.
Disposable vape kits are ideal for a smoker looking to try e-cigarettes before making the switch – they are after all about as easy as it gets for newcomers to vaping.
And of course, for established vapers, they are ideal for a quick vape when out and about.
What Can We Expect From the Dinner Lady Disposable E-cigarettes?
As I always say – good flavour and good performance is the bottom line.
The Dinner Lady Disposable E-cigarettes are filled with 20mg nicotine salts – ideal for smokers ready to quit via vaping.
Using nicotine salts simply means you’re getting a higher level of nic without the harshness some high levels can have.

In a nutshell nic salt vape juice means a smoother experience – some say the lack of ‘throat hit’ can put some smokers off…however, that is of course subjective.
OK, as I’ve already said, the new Dinner Lady disposable e-cigarette kits are filled with 5 of the company’s best selling vape juice: Fresh Menthol – Blue Menthol – Smooth Tobacco – Pink Berry and the multi-award winning Lemon Tart.
All five flavours were sent to me free of charge from Dinner Lady – thank you – and as always my thoughts and opinions are not swayed by freebies.
Updated to include the new Mango Ice flavour.
Dinner Lady Disposable E-cigarettes – Quick Start Guide
Before the review a very quick start guide:
- Remove pod from packaging [obviously]
- Remove sticker from base
- Remove ‘bung’ from mouthpiece
- Vape
Each pod is pre-filled with 1.5ml of your chosen flavour and is powered by a 300mAH battery – how long it lasts depends how often you use it!
It goes without saying – they are NOT rechargeable!
I found the Smooth Tobacco lasted me most of the day using it every hour or so…
OK, on with the review.
Dinner Lady Disposable E-cigarettes – Mango Ice
I Say:
No flavour notes for this one, though I guess it’s pretty obvious what its supposed to taste like.
It sounds strange, but I’m getting a real whiff of tobacco from this one…very reminiscent of a fruity pipe tobacco – really rather pleasant.
The inhale is what is best described as dry with a gentle mango flavour that just about tickles the taste buds.
The ice effect is very low key too – which I prefer to one of those brain freeze blasts.
I really quite like this one as it’s subtle for sure – but tasty nonetheless.
Dinner Lady Disposable E-cigarettes – Fresh Menthol
Dinner Lady Say:
…it’s refreshingly different
I Say:
Not a lot to go on from the flavour description – not that we really need it!
The very slight aroma is minty enough but not in your face fresh.
The inhale is indeed refreshing reminding me of those clear glacier mints.
However the blending is very good indeed with no over sweetness at all.
There’s no discernible throat hit, but the cooling menthol does give the impression of one.
The inhale is indeed refreshing with a gentle – certainly not arctic – breeze rather than blast.
Subtle is the best way of describing this one – in a good way.
Dinner Lady Disposable E-cigarettes – Blue Menthol
Dinner Lady Say:
Menthol with a difference. A classic menthol infused with a hint of sweetness. All the satisfaction, all the flavour.
I Say:
I’m getting an almost sweet vanilla smell off this one – pleasant enough.
The inhale reminds me very much of those bags of spearmint chewy candies that came in a white and green wrapper…the name escapes me!
Compared to the Fresh Menthol, this one isn’t subtle at all.
Your mouth is filled with sweet mintiness but not overpoweringly so.
The coldness on the throat isn’t as apparent and the exhale builds on the not too sweet candy flavour.
Of the two this one actually left my mouth fresher and more minty.
I like this one and I don’t tend to vape menthol flavours.
Dinner Lady Disposable E-cigarettes – Smooth Tobacco
Dinner Lady Says:
Designed to replicate the finest tobacco. Bold, smooth and sophisticated, this familiar flavour is the perfect way to switch to vaping.
I Say:
The smell from the pod fazed me a little – it is rather sweet.
However that sweetness disappears on the first vape – this is a true tobacco flavour without a doubt.
It is indeed bold and thick in the mouth with a tiny – and I mean tiny – hint of spice or pepper – really catching the back of the throat nicely.
It’s a natural deep dark tobacco sweetness on the exhale with a hint of cocoa – not quite chocolate if you catch my drift.
I’ve tasted hundreds of tobacco flavoured vape juice and this is right up there with some of the best.
Love it and this one emptied first.
Dinner Lady Disposable E-cigarettes – Pink Berry
Dinner Lady Say:
Sweet citrus and mixed berries.
I Say:
A short and sweet description – so am I sweet on the flavour?
I have to say the aroma coming from this one had my lips smacking – it’s a lovely fruity fresh smell.
The instant the inhale hit my taste buds my brain shouted Pink Man!
I used to vape that stuff in my early days and was whisked right back.
The not over sweetened mixed wild berries pop on your tongue but for me don’t quite come fully through on the exhale.
Yes it’s tasty, but just a tad subdued for my jaded palate.
I am old so maybe younger taste buds will reap the full benefit 🙂
Dinner Lady Disposable E-cigarettes – Lemon Tart
Dinner Lady Say:
Sharp lemon curd topped with gooey meringue all cradled by a thin pastry crust.
I Say:
I doubt this multi award winning UK made e-liquid flavour needs any introduction!
It’s been voted best loved vape juice in the UK for 3 years running and always seems to top our EcigClick Awards.
I used to vape on this one exclusively – however I’m pretty sure the blenders tweaked it a little and it lost a little something – for me anyway.
The smell from the pod is pastry rich with the slightest hint of the lemon and sweetness to come.
The inhale is a little too subtle for me [a nice way of saying lack lustre].
The actual smell of the vapour is more flavourful than the actual taste if that makes sense.
Pastry seems to overwhelm everything and I really was searching for the lemon and meringue.
I just don’t think this much loved vape juice blend is brought out by the pod kit anywhere near what it deserves IMHO.
Final Review Verdict
I really didn’t expect the Dinner Lady Disposable E-cigarettes to be up to much, but I’ve been pleasantly surprised.
Of course given these are throw-away vape kits – you really shouldn’t expect BIG flavour and clouds.
However, on the whole the flavour is very good indeed – just the Pink Berry and Lemon Tart falling a little short – not by much I hasten to add 🙂
Design wise it’s nothing to get excited about – but hey – it is what it is and looks good, is compact, and does the job!
As for the draw? Think a loose-ish Mouth To Lung with clouds to match – and bang on my less restrictive style.
On a scale of 1-10 with 10 being super tight these are high 6s early 7s 🙂
The Perfect Impulse Buy For Smokers and Vapers
Given Dinner Lady vape juice and now devices, can be bought in many UK major supermarkets, these are ideally placed as ‘impulse buys‘ by smokers looking to quit and indeed vapers.
With the menthol flavoured tobacco ban now in force across Europe, I think the Fresh Menthol and Blue Menthol varieties will both be BIG sellers as smokers look to switch.
I can also see vapers dropping a couple in their trolleys not only to offer to the smokers in their lives, but also for themselves as back up.
The pod kits are ideal for the bag, pocket, purse and car dashboard and perfect for a quick nic hit whilst out and about.
They’re very competitively priced too with the equivalent of a packet of 20 lit cigarettes for just over a fiver [cheaper if you buy dual packs].
So would I recommend them?
I most definitely would – they’re cheap – handy – discreet and overall a very decent vape indeed.
Well I have been very unimpressed with the lemon tart flavour of the disposable dinner lady ecig. It’s not what I was expecting, pretty dull and lacking the intense lemon flavour.
It’s a complete disappointment especially as it’s designed for heavy cigarette smokers like myself… Waste of money.
One of the best e-liquid
Lots of vapers agree with you 🙂
