In for review are three new summery flavours from Cuttwood.
I’ve got history with Cuttwood. Well, to be precise they were one of the first E-liquid manufacturers I tried when attempting more complex flavours. That would have been around 2014 or thereabouts so they’ve been in the vape game for quite some time.
You could say I ‘cutt’ my vaping teeth on their range. (Sorry!)
They’re especially well known for their dessert based profiles. I was (and still am) a big fan of Unicorn Milk and Boss Reserve. In fact I was one of a select few that even enjoyed Bird Brain – At least someone in my vaping circles appreciates the subtle tones and nuances of a cereal based profile!
Cuttwood’s headquarters are based in Irvine, California in the US where all flavours are crafted and bottled for distribution globally.
If memory serves me they’ve never been in a hurry to release a gamut of flavours year on year.
Probably because the limited selection sells well enough already. From this selection we have fruit, cereal, dessert and tobacco flavours cropping up in their Classic, Distinctive, Gold and Re-imagined series.
Today I’m taking a look at three brand new ones. Two are fruit based, the other falls into the drinks category.
What Can We Expect From The Cuttwood Lush Series E-liquid Range?
These three really are brand new offerings because as yet there’s no mention of them on the official Cuttwood website. Right now it looks like they’re only available as 100ml 0mg E-liquid in a 120ml short fill bottle ready to take up to two 10ml nicotine shots.
If some of these terms are not familiar to you – never fear we have “Guides”!
Two 18mg freebase nicotine shots will result in a 3mg overall nicotine strength.
The starting juice ratio is 70VG/30PG and perfectly suited to most vape devices including sub ohm tanks and pod kits. By applying two max VG shots they’ll be ideal for the cloud chucking RDA enthusiast.
..Like me!
Above all we can expect something a little bit different and the Lush series represents brand new flavour blending territory for Cuttwood.
Bottle Presentation
All three were received in heat shrink tamper proof cartons which gives added assurance they haven’t been mauled around. That’s why the protective seal around the bottle necks aren’t conspicuous by their absence.
Cuttwood also state ‘the bottle must not be offered for sale separately from the box’.
The labelling on the chubby gorilla bottle is clear and quite straight forward although there do appear to be horizontal printing lines visible across the blue backgrounds.
It tends to cheapen the presentation a bit but I’m a finicky sod at times!
The labelling also refers to a leaflet. There’s nothing inside the carton but there are a few safety warnings together with a breakdown of included ingredients. Batch numbers and use by dates are visible at the bottom of the label.

Today I’ll Mostly Be Vaping On..
I’ll be using my ever dependable Hellvape Dead Rabbit V2 RDA to test the trio of flavours. Dual Wotofo fused Clapton coils ohming in at 0.11 and vaping at 85W with fresh Cotton Gods cotton.
It’s oft stated but very true – flavour really is subjective. I might like Scampi and chips, you may not. It really is that simple. Keep in mind also that RDA’s are likely to bring out subtle flavour nuances that a pod kit, for example won’t.
The choice of device often dictates how much flavour intensity and enjoyment you get.
Lush Series – Passion Fruit
Cuttwood Says:
An exotic fruit blend that captures the sweet yet tangy Passion Fruit flavour notes deliciously fused into a satisfying vape liquid with a tropical flavoured exhale.
I Say:
Initially I’m greeted by a very fragrant and fruity exhale. It’s incredibly sweet too which bolsters the overall flavour intensity. I’m not normally a fan of Passion Fruit but this version is extremely tasty.
The similarity to Pineapple is self evident by the tartness and tanginess that springs out mid vape. The flavour is very rich and textured, with nothing becoming diluted as the vape progresses. It holds its own even once the vapour’s spent.
It does have a slight perfume like quality running through it but that’s soon overridden by the sheer flavour intensity of this fruity blending.
I can also pick out a few back notes of fresh squeezed orange which tend to linger on the palate late doors. These flavour notes are subtle but add to the overall depth this e-liquid has.
There’s even the merest hint of Strawberry thrown in and while more synthetic tasting than I’d like, doesn’t distract from what is a fantastic tropical flavour fest.
Yes, Passionfruit is one of those lip smackingly good vapes that leaves nothing to chance and delivers flavour by the vape load – every time. For a simple, single flavour it has an incredible number of layers to hold the interest.
A finely crafted blending that I simply cannot fault.
Lush Series – Strawberry Banana
Cuttwood Says:
A fruity blend that captures the sweet summer Strawberry flavour notes deliciously fused with creamy smooth Banana notes to create a satisfying vape liquid with a smooth exhale.
I Say:
The first thing to jump out is the clove like taste jumping straight off the Banana. It’s quite prominent but combined with a sugar sweetness provides a significant degree of flavour depth.
It also emits its fair share of sourness and overall is a quite authentic, ripe tasting Banana.
The inhale is extremely smooth and that sugary sweetness grasps the taste buds in an instant. The more Strawberry And Banana is vaped, the better the Banana tastes.
I can also pick out a few creamy notes which pushes the profile closer to a dessert styled vape.
However, there’s a glaring problem. I cannot for the life of me taste anything of the berry. It’s not present at the start, middle or end of the exhale and doesn’t even pop out as an after taste.
It’s the reason why I suggest it’s more of a dessert based vape. So although one half of the flavour description vapes fantastically well, the other seems completely lost in translation.
That’s a crying shame.
Lush Series – Blueberry Smoothie
Cuttwood Says:
A berry fruit blend that captures the sweet and bold Blueberry flavour notes deliciously blended into a creamy smoothie to create a satisfying vape liquid with a berry exhale.
I Say:
Talk about juicy and succulent!
This version of Blueberry is packed full of flavour and sweetness. In fact, it’s a Blueberry taste like no other I’ve experienced from a vape. I’ve known many to be over sweet and artificial tasting but here there’s so much added flavour depth.
As the vape begins I get the sweet fruit fused with a thick creamy texture that continues during the first half of the exhale. Towards the end I’m left with a tantalising tickle of Blueberry on the tongue.
The texture created is more reminiscent of yoghurt than milk or ice cream. I usually struggle with yoghurt vapes but it’s been reproduced perfectly with Blueberry Smoothie.
It’s that good, you could be reaching for the nearest spoon! Of significance again is how those intense flavour notes hold throughout the entire exhale.
I’ve got to say this is one of the best renditions of a Blueberry I’ve tasted for a very long time. Even the dessert influenced thick, creamy content is realistic and on point.
A multi layered masterpiece in my opinion.
Cuttwood 100ml Lush Series E-Liquid Range – Final Review Verdict
Cuttwood have never been a manufacturer to skimp on their flavour concentrates. The vast majority of creations represent very good flavour intensity, blending, complexity and depth.
For this reason I was a bit let down by Strawberry And Banana because for the first time it looks like they’ve taken their eye off the ball – or vape. For me, at least it was a simple single flavour affair and although very authentic tasting lacked the necessary blending of fruits to work.
That being said the multi layering of Blueberry Smoothie and the authenticity of Passionfruit more than makes up for this misgiving.
Vapour production was thick and dense with plenty of volume – even vaped as a standard 70VG/30PG juice ratio straight from the bottle.
I haven’t had time to see if the high level of sweetener wreaks havoc on the coils but I’ll check back in with an update as soon as possible. I did notice that it doesn’t take long for the cotton to discolour even though the liquid itself is relatively clear.
So to sum it up. Plenty of fruit, lots of sweetness and a healthy dollop of dessert by way of yoghurt. Three diverse, tasty flavours from US vape manufacturer Cuttwood.
